The SanRenMu 9054 with the hole in the blade - I use with a simple single strand of 550 Paracord for a lanyard, long enough to pass through the hole in the blade, simple but very effective. I bought a newer one from FastTech and it was missing the hole so some have the hole and some haven't.
I got the Ganzo G720 in orange and skeletonized the handle removing 1.7oz of material and i think i could of removed abit more but err'ed on the side of caution. Great knife i have ordered 3 more and will skeletonize those as well. I used a hand drill in a press adapter and a dremel to smooth the edges off. Thank you for all your videos and your time and effort, take care and God Bless.
wolfman011000 How hard are the liners to drill? I haven't tried ganzo ones. I did some Enlans a while ago and needed a carbide bit. And thank you for watching!
Lazy Lizard Gear The drilling was fairly easy as i had prepared before hand, making sure the steel liner was secure in the vice of the Bench Drill Stand. I added a couple layers of masking tape over the liner, I then used a centre punch to mark out the pattern for drilling through a paper template, the dimple from the centre punch in the steel and the masking tape helps to stop the drill bit from skidding off i fonnd. I used acouple of carbide bits from the start, smaller one for drilling the hole then the larger one to chamfer the edges followed by a dremel sanding to finsh. The paper templates removes the guess work, lets you visualize the finished piece. I am currently looking at getting a hobbist grade rotary pillar drill drilling press bench machine table at less than $100, then i can do all my folders :). I have a lust in my heart for something like 3020T CNC router as well, but find it hard to justify the costs.
Great vids. Thanks. I have recently discovered Senrenmu knives and am collecting them and carrying them. Great products, ridiculously low prices. In my opinion, they are set to dominate the US knife market. Look out Benchmade!
the flipper looks cool and the GANZO ,i ad them on my list looking for to see full review of the GANZO and SRM 7076 (Three colors) ,ps thanks for organize the washer for me ,soon they arrive i will message you my friend
that sanremu 9054 looks just like the real steel thor, which makes sense because i think real steel is sanremu owned and features bigger knives. i have 4 of the sanremu land 910 plus in green and black and the 9103 and 9104...and they are just amazing. such quality. i wish amazon had more of sanremus 9xxx series knives, i would buy them. is the first little flipper you showed in the 3 two tone colors super small? like almost a little toy? or are they big enough to use at work and whatnot
Great video. The 7089, black with flames, classic old school hotrod colours. What's not to like! Will you be stocking the 9051, the new, more colourful version of the very good and very hard to get M1? I have all you mentioned in the video except the CRKT Heiho. The Ganzo G720 is the best built Ganzo ever, the clearances between blade and scales is ridiculously close and stayed the same after adjusting the pivot to loosen the action.
8steve88 I one of those 9051 I haven't decided what I think of it. The handle has all kinds of curves that seem purposeful but I don't know what they're for. lol I might get some. My wholesaler mentioned they would be getting some of the black ones soon, and they have a few colorful ones already.
Lazy Lizard Gear The 9051 in black would be the M1, lovely smooth Micarta scales and only needs the blade shortening a few mm to be legal EDC. The smaller SRM's that are being released recently have Sandvik 12C27 steel and are legal as they are. :) I bought a few M1's when they stopped production and paid entirely too much for them. Another interesting one is the SRM 9063 no badging and a RealSteel E963 but FT has them for less than half the E963 price.
Lazy Lizard Gear yep! The screw is accessible from the outside, and you may be able to get the bar out without removing anything else, but I just took one scale and liner off. I highly recommend you try it. I like it so much that now I want the bigger models.
Sounds great, i ordered one directly from china a few Days ago, The info didn´t say it was assisted but i hoped it would be. Keep up the good job! Thanks!
No they do not unfortunately. I'll happily swap them over to lefty on request though, no upcharge. Snap ring pliers work great as mentioned as would various other things, heck maybe a fork. The screw is wide and flat enough you can often turn them with the pad of your thumb too if they are not very tight.
The 720s are shaped like the lion steel but its far better with the axis lock( you only get the patent for 20 years after that anyone can use it ) The Chinese are going it one better .they are combining the good parts of different knives into one . If the Americans are to greedy to get together and make better knives they will suffer for it .
sigh, i guess knife designs are going to be outsourced to the same place where they are made... just a matter of time. screw it i might get some. wish china would come up with something better than 8cr13 though, im getting really tired of the shortcomings of this steel and its wide availability
asleepyinsomnia Just FYI, none of these is made of 8cr13mov. Though half of them are very very close with 8cr14mov. The others are 12c27 or 440C. If you move out of the budget range China is making original stuff now with imported high end steels like S35VN. I'm hoping to get some of that sort of thing at some point.
Geez... Well. I guess I have to buy them now lol. Not a fan of 440c but it is better than 8cr13. I never really got super steels but my budget isn't there yet either lol. I've had a lot of mid range steels like vg10 and they seemed perfect for me. Soft enough for minimal field sharpening but holds a long enough edge. I get a bit skeptical when a knife takes longer than 20 min to got a good edge. Eh serviceability vs durability. And 440c is one of those hard to sharpen steels for me. Note I use natural stones only, and some steels don't work well with natural stones(440c)
asleepyinsomnia Yes i like knives that are easy to sharpen. I think some 'supersteels' go too far and sacrifice practicality for...internet bragging rights? Extreme wear resistance doesn't generally come without noticeable downsides is what I'm saying. About half of the new SRM knives are 12C27. I haven't had opportunity to test it much yet, but that should be good, steels in that family take nice edges and are easy to maintain. There's a lot of 9CR18MOV in use now too, which is almost exactly 440B composition wise.
