You don't need a holder on 2000+ grit paper it is very fine and has little to no traction. And using lower grit is just not recommended. So I don't see why would you need a holder anyway.
Note to viewers. You WILL need lighter FLUID with fluid based lighters and butane FUEL with butane lighters. Butane will NOT work with this, or the standard insert in a ZIPPO. Keep the O rings up to date in this. Fluid does not evaporate nearly as fast in this (if its not poorly made junk) as it will with a ZIPPO. Its like this: Cheap everyday butane lighters can break, get wet etc. Who cares? Buy 60. BUT butane is temperature sensitive . If the lighter gets cold, or at altitude it MAY NOT work. If you are hypothermic (freezing to death ) you need a fire NOW, this presents a problem. Fluid based lighters can leak or evaporate, so my suggestion is a high quality model that uses ZIPPO flints and wicks. Ferro rods? 😂😂 This thing is tiny and better than nothing but get yourself a BAYITE 1/2 by 6 inch Ferro off Amazon, a decent striker and learn fire craft and how to keep a fire going. Lighter companies will sell you JUNK off any store sight you can name and different companies over seas will feed you a load of bulls**t. Learn and practice BEFORE you need it outdoors. Your life may depend on a flame to BOIL.water to drink , and keep you from freezing. The only fire making devices that require no FUEL or FLUID are a magnifying glass, flint and steel, Ferro rods, 9V batteries and steel wool etc. Be SMART. Be safe. Take care.
the pliers on a smaller knife are great, but the perpendicular phillips head isn’t great, and I miss the corkscrew for undoing knots, plus the little glasses screwdriver. I wish we could get the pliers added to a Climber or Explorer 🤞
Gritty knives that won't open are about normal for Scharade, Old Timer, and the Imperial brand of Buck 110 clones coming out of china. These knives are extreamly bad about the grit. People are usually able to clean all the sharpening wheel grit out if the knife with hot water and dish soap while working the blade open and closed. Just don't cut yourself doing this. And sometimes its very difficult to clean the grit out since they also leave scale plastic between the scale bolsters. I do not recommend this type of knife. Then all you have to do is recut the blade sharpening bevel. I use a diamond stone to make short work of this task. It seems that chineese don't know how to make a blade bevel straight. If the blade doean't have a straight bevel it won't be resharpenable.
You are my hero! I have been trying to figure out why it didn't work 😢 was using the wrong fuel. ❤ thank you! Also no it would not be amusing at all if you were to inadvertently be harmed 😢 be safe ❤
Someone made a video a while back about the perfect universal trio in multi tools for the outdoors: The Ranger/ The Camper/ The Climber/. My version of the perfect trio for the Urban environment: The Deluxe Tinker/ The Super Tinker/ The Tinker/ Perfect version for the Urban environment!
I don't suppose anyone could make a video kinda like this but one where you turn an axis lock folding knife into an automatic axis lock folding knife? I assume you'd probably use a coil spring like in push button autos and I don't no if any other autos take coil springs besides push button and maybe axis auto
Well made tool and works well but be warned, I put too much fuel in it and managed to set my hand on fire nowt major just ended up with a few blisters, no directions in packaging so made the mistake with the fuel.
When you rapidly move the blade at the pivot in an attempt to wear the blade action ... remember to do this before you add oil to the pivot area, because you want the friction to be heavy in order to remove the rough spots ftom the metal. After the movement and friction wear has been tried...then oil the pivot area to allow the now "broken in" movement to to move freely.
Thank you for showing me how to take care of the match. There is no manual with these, and I just bought four of them. They're a great emergency lighter and if you don't have lighter fluid the spark catches the wick on fire, and you can use that. So, thank you for showing us that. I had no idea that was even a feature.
I have just brought one of these, & have got lots of sparks but not flame yet as haven't brought the lighter fuel yet. I was wondering, does it leak if tipped upside down? Or is the some safety tank/sponge down there, i find it much easier to strike it when its upside down but will practice the other way if this isn't possible.
