1- Weight loss cannot make you happier or a more fulfilled as a person. That needs to come from elsewhere. 2- It will not be a linear path. Be easy on yourself. 3- Don't deprive. Look at all the foods you can eat. 4- It will take time and practice. Make small changes. 5- Focus on the system over results. 6- Be reflective and not rejective.
When I was young I was bulimic, which lead to anorexia. I became a size 0. I was NOT happy and was objectified. As I got older I quit smoking and gained weight. Because of HEALTH concerns, I need to lose weight. Goal: 50 pounds. At 52 I am so STUCK with this. And have been walking all summer, cut down on alcohol and most food we eat, we make and I am STILL not getting anywhere:-(
I’m FINALLY losing weight sustainably. It’s all such a mind game! I truly don’t believe I was mentally ready to put in the work to lose weight until recently. Your advice is SO true about falling “off the wagon”. I constantly crash dieted, failed, then punished myself by bingeing. Shifting that mindset is what did it for me. I’m GOING to fail, but I’m gonna keep moving forward because “failure” is expected. I’m down 20 pounds in 5 months, 40 to go! Catch ya at my goal weight in a year ✌️
I think the mental health part of weight loss is SO often overlooked. I didn't talk to my therapist because of my weight gain but healthy weight loss was a buy product of my anxiety being treated. We all need to see our bodies in a more holistic way.
weight loss can definitely make you much more happier and I'm speaking from experience . we as humans don't understand that the foods we consume leaves us with parasites and that's what is playing a big part of our mental. There are so many benefactors of losing weight and one of the major ones is getting rid of toxins. I was fortunate to lose 100 pounds on my journey and it wasn't the appearance that made me feel better, it was the toxins that cleansed my body.
Learning to cope with stress is the biggest factor for weight loss I've found. If you're stressed, you don't want to leave your comfort zone and make life changes. Tackling my anxiety and depression helped me a lot.
White Okay ru-vid.comUgkx6K7NWahp9y3ir1gVAwysOCHOOPSnWZbw . I got it from my browser's history. I know that it's really frustrating to be over-weighted but all is possible with a strong determination. Good luck…..
i’ve been trying to lose weight for some time now and i am really young (15/16), i haven’t been doing any specific diets but more focus on better food choices and daily routine exercise (like walking) has really helped. but truly for it to work what i needed was to separate my belief in weight loss and in my physical beauty, and realise i needed to lose for my health and accept my beauty in all its shapes to be equal. - watching this video was so refreshing and helpful to watch so thank you 🥺
You got this! Your body is beautiful no matter what, and I’m so glad that you can see that! :) This comment was made a year ago, but I hope that you’re still doing good!
@@CleanandDeliciousDani No she’s not. No she is not! I hate these comments!!! Why did she lose weight? She is supposed to accept herself at her heaviest. Losing weight is apart of the patriarchy. Stop encouraging weight loss #femaleempowerment Your so stupid. Losing weight is how men control you. Being at your heaviest is a sign of rebellion to the patriarchy and bigger people need to see it’s okay to be big. No more patriarchy fat shaming
@@DUES_EX mind your own business...your ridiculous comments only further validate why our nation has an obesity crisis.. Love yourself at your fattest, enjoy all the extra calories and crap you feed yourself....and for that you will eventually succumb to being even more unhealthy and a shorter life span. but thats your choice and your right...but dont try to drag the rest of us down with this self fulfilling political BS you espouse. How pathetic...
The #1 thing is planned and structured diet, because the only way for your body to burn fat is to use it as energy. Basically, you need to eat below your energy maintenance level (in terms of calories) and your fat cells will be used to compensate the missing energy (calories). That's how your body works. There are other things to consider as well, such as hormonal status, diseases... but caloric deficit is a must. You have a lot of online diet planners and calculators, like NextLevel Diet for an example. Losing/gaining weight is just a simple math, really...
I have ALWAYS felt like my “weight loss” journey was more of a mental thing for me. This video is SPOT ON and VERY motivating for me! I rarely leave comments on RU-vid but this is great! Although I have lost about 50 pounds and kept it off for about a year, it’s still a mental struggle for me. Thank you for taking the time to share this information. I really appreciate it! ❤️
Many people believe that weight gain and loss is all about calories and willpower. However, modern obesity research disagrees. Scientists increasingly say that a hormone called LEPTIN is involved. Leptin resistance, in which your body does not respond to this hormone, is now believed to be the leading driver of fat gain in humans. @@dominguezglobalhealth Except if you are in a calorie deficit you will still burn that fat, just later on. It makes no difference and is a matter of burning it now versus burning it later. Exact same thing applies to the different heart rate zones when doing cardio.

@@hortensejones4050 to be honest, no. If you don't have the right mindset about food and body image, no weight will ever be good enough. There will always be that 5lbs you can't lose. My husband's cousin has maybe 20% body fat and she was asking people how to lose 5lbs. Her parents were already concerned that she wasn't eating enough for the amount of exercise she was doing and then she's asking people on Facebook how to lose more. If your focus is becoming healthier: exercising to keep your heart healthy, choosing better foods to nourish the cells that are constantly replicating and need the proper building blocks, drinking enough water so your body can properly filter toxins from your blood. Those are the important things. The weight will likely start to fall off by following that mindset rather than thinking "I can't eat that candy because I want to lose 5lbs." I hope that makes sense 🤷♀️

I lost 70 pounds in 8 months and learned a secret from it. for most of us, stress plays a huge part in unhealthy eating. mine for the most part was financial troubles. getting that out of the picture and making roughly $100k monthly in passive income was the key solution for me. I started eating healthier, exercising better and overall became a happier human being. Like it or not, if you gotta worry about your money all the time, you can never concentrate on other aspects of your life. some problems are deeply rooted in highly unseeming foundations
that's a great accomplishment for you buddy. i am so happy for you. I am curious as to what kind of investment you make now that yields that kind of profit for you. I also find myself in need of a good investment plan currently. I am sitting on $300k which I feel is doing absolutely nothing a the savings account

The wagon tip really meant a lot to me. Last week I ate out more and 'cheated' more than I usually do. I felt bad about it and almost gave up. I'm glad I kept going because I saw great improvements the next week. It's a just a part of the journey after all

I hadn’t owned a scale in 8-9 years bc I feel like they are so toxic. I’ve been on a journey for fitness and health for a year or so and I decided to get a fancy scale to try to up my progress. I had it for 3 days and it went back to the store. Already could see the negative impacts it had on me. So many different ways to keep motivated than using a scale! Great vid ❤️
I totally agree. I would wake up in the morning feeling really positive about myself and ready for a healthy, productive, day. Step on the scale and see a tiny fluctuation in what I considered the wrong direction, and suddenly all the positivity disappeared and all I wanted to do was eat. Definitely better ways to determine progress.
Ditto! I lost weight and kept it off 9 years ago when I didn't own a scale. Didn't think about that correlation til way after. I know that if I had been weighing myself regularly I would've had a miserable experience, and probably would've fallen off the wagon. Instead, I just focused on my healthy choices and how great I felt. And it stuck! Total game changer!
Ok, I am eating popcorn and drinking coke right now, but here is the thing: this video made me feel better about myself. I’ve lost over 50 pounds 7 years ago and gained the weight back over the last 6 months due to anxiety and constant stress. I was trying to lose weight in the last few weeks using some old techniques that used to help me before, but turns out that they don’t work anymore. That is understandable, but still demotivating. I’ve been trying to be kind with myself, but deep down I knew I was constantly judging my self appearance. My old traumas were whispering in my brain that “no one would love me the way I am” (concisely I understand that is stupid, but my subconscious is much more sensitive). Working on my mental state helps me not to punish, but help myself and set goals wisely. Thank you for talking so much about it, I had to hear those words.
"you know whether or not you've been successful that day by your ability to honor the commitment you've made to yourself" i TRULY needed to hear that!!!
This was so beneficial to me. I am 70 years young (feel like I'm still 45!) but have always had an issue with my body image. Your talk has helped me look at things differently. Thank you so much, and yes, please keep going, and help someone in their youth, that has thought like me, have a better life.
Yes, please. Changing your mental mind frame is THE HARDEST thing to do. As you said, we’re so focused on the “I’m all out” or “I’m all in” that we don’t think that real life is in the middle. Thank you, I’ll be watching this again a few times 😍
You are truly one of the sweetest and most genuine people on RU-vid. Truly a favorite of mine. I just feel so happy and refreshed when I hear you speak so much truth. 💖
After watching this video, I have become way more motivated to continue my health journey. I’ve lost 5 pounds but I am more determined to see my resilience, determination, and self love to grow ♡ thank you for the tips 😊💪
This video was really helpful. I was anorexic in college, I got better, and now I’ve gained weight to the point where I’m physically uncomfortable in my body. I’m scared to try to loose weight again, all your words were very grounding. Thank you!
I remember one of the many times I lost weight someone asked, “Are you sick?” One of the reasons I want to be my healthy weight, not as thin as I was then. Thx Dani.
1. weight loss doesn't get rid of all the other problems, our mental health does 2. going off the plane is OK 3. focus on foods that you can include 4. crowd out technic (one thing at a time) for 1, 2 or 3 weeks until this is feels like your daily life 5. focus on your commitments, than the scale 6. learn from your mistakes, don't reject it

THIS is the BEST Video about weight loss, Im watching it practically every day. I am also happy that I was able to find ( bit.ly/3fUeUF9 ), because it not only allowed me to lose weight, but also to maintain a great figure, I hope it will help others!

This is my first time seeing this and I'm already in love, indeed weight loss is a mental battle for most people and I can't wait to overcome that battle in Jesus name😍🥰
I never watch videos on topics like this. But I'm back to feeling like it's time to get serious about my relationship with food and my body. They go hand in hand right? So that's how I was feeling and then I saw this video. 😊🤗I enjoyed it a lot!
The only thing you need to give up, is giving up. I've been applying the attitudes you advise here for a few months now. And it's had great results. I lost 40kg last year but had been struggling this year BUT by applying this frame of mind I have done something this year that I have NEVER done before, which is not gain the weight back. I have still lost a little weight but it's much slower. But for me this a success. So unlike my previous history. Celebrate the small wins. Not only the big ones.
Thank you Dani. This video was very encouraging to me. I have been so disappointed in myself. I lost 55 lbs a few years ago due to my lab work showed that my glucose was a little bit higher than the normal range. After losing the weight my lab results were normal again. I very slowly put a small amount of weight back on over about a 2 year time span. After that, my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I took early retirement to care for him. Instead of using my free time to get in better shape and start losing weight again, I acted like I was on vacation, eating with no boundaries. I had time now to cook all those comfort food recipes and we started eating out a lot just to get out of the house. Now I have put most of my weight back on and my blood sugar is a little higher than normal again. I have started making better choices, but weight loss is very very slow. The good news is my blood sugar is improving. Still I need to lose weight and be healthy so I can take care of my husband and enjoy my life the best that I can. I’m 62 and I don’t want to be a sick, fat, old lady. I definitely need to change my mindset. I’ll admit, I’m pretty down on myself. I keep asking myself, “ what was I thinking! How did I let this happen,” I feel that I know a lot of things that I should be doing, but I keep procrastinating and feel like I will just keep failing or I will be successful and then be fighting weight gain my whole life. Thanks for your videos of healthy cooking. They do help and I share them with my friends all the time God bless you. 😊
When I found out that I couldn’t have any dairy products, including eggs, no wheat or corn products, I was devastated! Then I realized that I can have peas, beans, rice, potatoes, which I love, I was able to accept the challenge to find alternatives. Applesauce and flax are great egg substitutes when baking, and tapioca is a great thickener for gravies and sauces. I probably follow your recipes more than anyone. Can’t thank you enough Dani. We do what we can with what is available to us. ❤️
This has got to be one of the healthiest videos about weight loss I have seen. Spot on with all the tips, thank you so much. Context: I have lost ~50 pounds over the past 8 months, still ~20 to go I think I read in a comment somewhere, someone said to not “make up for it” the next day if you didn’t follow your plan one day, just move on. This has been great advice, as I have been following it for the time of my weight loss, and what it has really shown me is that you can’t undo months/weeks progress in one day. The habits I have now are still not exactly where I want them to be, but they are strong enough that I’m not going to go back to my old lifestyle and mindset in one day, one week, or even a month.
My blood pressure and health placed me on this journey. I like how you describe it as a continuous journey. The resentment towards the scale number is a big one. Now I do servings and portions on a plate. I have a couple days of the week where I allow myself to indulge. Everyone is different. Cutting back on sugary drinks and beer was tough but I did it. Thank you for the encouragement

I really love this! Changing your mentality. I'm currently pregnant on my last baby. Im at my biggest weight so far. Whenever baby comes I intend to start my weight lost journey. I've always struggled with my weight. I'm a typical yo-yo Dieter, but I want something different this time. I'm ready to lose weight to be healthy and not for those feelings you meantion. I'm excited to start. Thank you for these tips. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
I just came across your videos and I have loved them so far.Very helpful, thankyou very much. They're an insight into the two books 📚 I have read before.. "The compound effect" and " The power of habit ".I'm so glad that I have met you. 🙏
I would love to hear more about this. I always say that I’m not a stupid person, I know that healthier choices on my plate and moving my body will equal weight loss. BUT there is still something getting in my way and it’s completely to do with mental health. Why do I feel i’m not worth it? Why do I self sabotage? Why am I so hard on myself when I make a choice that is considered a poor choice? After watching this I’m going to try focusing on habits as you said and be kind to myself. I’m so kind to everyone else, give them grace when they need it, so why not me?? Thank you for this ❤️
Me and my mom have been sharing your recipes back and forth to eachother for a while now, making your Tuna pasta salad for tonight and I can't wait it looks so good ! I also greatly appreciate your healthy realistic approach to keeping a healthy weight, we love you!
This is SO good! I listened the other day & I'm listening a second time today. You are SO right about the biggest key is what's going on in our heads. If we don't accept & love ourselves as we are, we will not have long-lasting success. I am FINALLY starting to get this truth.... I have tried SO many times to eat well to feel well & lose weight but every single time I ended up self sabotaging myself. I could succeed at times short term but it never lasted. It was as if something in me refused to allow me to maintain good changes. No more!! I am learning I am worthy of love & worthy of success & things are slowly changing for the good & this message from you is priceless. Thank you!! ❤
I would love to hear you talk more about loving & accepting ourselves in regard to taking care of our health & bodies... I really do think this is the biggest hindrance to most of us doing what we know to do to be at the right size & weight for our bodies. You really spoke a lot of good info & please share more... 🥰
This is so valuable!!! I wish every single person trying to lose weigh watch this. I lost so much weight and I subconsciously followed this and it’s very true. Another tip I would give you guys is when you are losing my weight don’t only think of it as a physique change. Also think about the internal changes your making. The increase in more micronutrients, fiber, and vitamins etc etc. this journey if done properly can help improve your health, your mental health, and literally help you function as a human being. You are picking up habits that will help you live a more enjoyable life!! I use to dread going to the gym and what not but now I can play with my nephews and not feel tired! If I’m feeling stressed instead of eating I enjoy jogging.
New to you & I'm so happy that I found your videos. I was pretty lost on how to begin treating myself better and honestly at this point almost any improvement big or small is better than how I've been for the past few year's. My mobility has been drastically reduced due to a couple of back injuries and as a result nerve damage to my legs and feet. As a result I went in the complete opposite direction that I should have. I viewed cooking as a chore and started eating frozen meals or takeout but spiritually I'm so ready to start loving my body and myself again. This series of videos is exactly what I've been praying for. I will keep you posted 💚
Maintain a healthy diet and exercise. Make and force this to be YOUR lifestyle and routine. Your body, mind and tastebuds will thank you for it. You’ll feel rejuvenated. It ain’t easy and temptations suck, but if I can do it, you can do it. I believe in YOU...you got this!!
I would like to hear more of these. The explanations of why we chose to eat healthy, but not only that, also live a healthy lifestyle mentally and physically. Cleared up so much for me, thank you!

Dani -I stumbled onto your channel a couple of weeks ago, have enjoyed exploring it, tried a couple of your delicious recipes and have a bunch more on my list to try! But I appreciated this video even more than your delicious recipes, so much truth in it! I really resonated with a lot of what you shared, but especially the first tip, where you said that weight loss is a byproduct of emotional work. I knew for a long time that I needed to lose weight and make healthier choices, but only when I had experienced enough healing and was finally convinced I was worth working on that I was able to prioritize health - and because it was a natural progression, where my healthy choices reflected an healthier inner reality, it has seemed so much easier than I ever expected it could be! Thanks so much, Dani!
EVERY E V E R Y TIME I have restarted this journey..... I feel great... weigh my curvy hourglass figure and get discouraged.... then I fall off the wagon. I've made progress at the gym.... prior to current circumstances.... I had started brief PROPER planking.....I hit 10,000 steps 5 or 6 days per week. I started my first diet at age 9.... This is helpful and I pray healing in so many ways for so many. My largest reason for feeling a failure is when I fail to get to my goal.... I cannot motivate others.... Last time I was at goal was due to terrible depression. God doesn't want me to look waaaaay ahead but at now and to love myself and others and press on to a healthier internal and external relationship with my body, spirit and soul. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for the long input. I live out Bush Down Under since 1995....and I'm an American citizen still. Xxoo
Great video!! I can totally relate to the "falling off the wagon" point. I end up feeling like a failure and bailing on my healthy eating. It ends up in a cycle of working hard and then giving up. Please do more videos like this and also meal prep videos. I find that if I can have healthy meals prepped or at least food prep in the fridge it makes it so much easier to stay on the "wagon". ;)
This video is so good it’s not repeating what everyone else is doing. Thank you for putting thought into your videos. You can tell you want to help others.
The major quality and attraction of this video is clear pronunciation especially rate of speaking with easy to understand words for non English speaking people as well. Salute little lady with respect and honour.
I lost 80 lb and kept it off for years using similar techniques. I'm at a place where I've got to work some pounds off again and I want to say thank you for these reminders. I really, really hate cheasy metaphors and "love yourself" talk, but mentality is absolutely foremost in gaining control of your body, thanks for getting that out there.
YES YES YES PLEASE! I love this information and would definitely like to hear more of your advice on healthy eating and lifestyles! Thank You. Love your channel ❤️
Ms. Dani, thanks for sharing. I did weight watchers years back and did well while I was accountable to WW. On my own, I tend to get lazy, forgetful, or I let stress, circumstances, and situations get the best of me. There have been times where I go to the supermarket, buy organic, juice up, etc. Then, boom, back to the same rut. The reason why I say this is bc I believe you are right. My own relationship with my self is not strong at all! My mindset has been, if you can't beat them, join them. My husband is a junk food addict, and I ate it all until I got sick recently. I actually felt my stomach turning inside me bc of the junk food. I am now trying to get back to caring for myself, thanks to this video, which confirms what I feared. I need to get past my inclination to procrastinate, it is a very bad habit.
My weight loss doctor had told when I was going through a weight loss journey it takes 3 weeks to break a habit and 3 months to create a new one so you need to be persistent and accept during that time it is ok to go through a period if adjustments. Breaking habits is not overnight. One other tip he gave me was we need to stop with food association. As most people eat out of mental associations we make rather than need. For example when you go to the movies you automatically associate popcorn and tell yourself I am at the movies, So I need popcorn, these association will always set us back if we don’t break the cycle
Thank you so much for sharing Dani. I’m slowly but surely learning how my relationship with food is affecting me, and I must say, I’ve learned lots from you! Please keep these videos coming!
The main thing for me is realizing that I don't need motivation. Motivation is a fleeting feeling. I needed self discipline. I stopped used lack of motivation as an excuse. Also, if I "fell off the wagon" I got back on that day. You don't need to wait until Monday or decide the whole weekend is lost. Just pick it back up at your next meal or your next workout session.
It takes courage to admit you may have had the wrong idea or plan about improving your life. So many of us kid ourselves and become very defensive when someone starts analysing you. You're absolutely right about making that all Important commitment, your choice your decision. One thing I discovered is that you need to make changes for YOU alone, not to please another person. If you find you're not happy question yourself about what you want the outcome to be, NO RUSH.
Excellent. I had to recognize how unhealthy my relationship with food before I could think about weight. You are exactly right! It's still a battle, but I'm getting better. I'm at a great weight, but I still want to fully recover from the pull of the diet/restrict/binge mentality -- which crops up when I'm anxious. Intuitive Eating book helped me get off the crazy wagon. I've put the scale high up on shelf. It's very inconvenient and I tendcto forget about it. Small wins add up over time. They keep us going.
I think you are correct in summarizing one of the main points us learning to be kind to your self. I think for me it really comes down to discipline & mindfulness and being consistent with a healthy mindset.
I really like what you said in the beginning. I like that you said weight loss only have one job which is to weigh less. And that it does not make you happier or more worthy. As someone who struggled with different types of eating disorders. I wish I had heard that as a child. I think it would’ve made a huge difference in my life

I went into quarantine working from home and spent the 1st 2 months commuted to working out and eating healthier. The scale became my enemy and caused me to give up. I’m 50 years old. I truly believe this is definitely a mental attitude. I’m hoping to motivate myself to start again without focusing on the scale. Great video so needed it !!!!
I have gotten on the scale every day for 45 years. Every time my weight edged up panicked and cut back on calories. I was 160 in college. Graduated at 140. Carreer knocked 10 off, breast feeding another 10. Finally Covid the last 5. It was the habit of getting on the scale every day that did it. It flips a mental switch in your brain.
Thanks for your tips! I’ve been doing a workout challenge for almost 3 weeks, everyday after I workout I weight myself, but what I see is the scale getting heavier which it is not suppose to be. I get very frustrated and demotivated and almost wanting to give up on this journey. But after what I heard your advice, there’s a sudden click of realisation from me, that my mindset is wrong, I judged my progress from the scale and I became very negative whenever I see the results. Now I can see a path for my weight lost journey and I’m ready to change my mindset and start anew.💪
This video was in my recommendations and I had no idea how much I needed it. The first thing you said just really hit me. Thank you so much for this! Definitely subscribing ❤️
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO TODAY! I was being so negative and "rejective" even though I reflect a lot, I get in my head too much and end up being sad and mean to myself for "cheating".
I appreciate your outlook on food. I have had to for medical reasons cut several foods out recently. I love the fact that you said to focus on what you get to eat not on what you don't. I have tried to take that approach, and it helps so much. Especially when you have people saying if I had to eat like you I would never make it.
I can relate about the off the wagon effect and I’ve been there and still having that mindset. I stumble on what should/should not be on my diet . I heard you! I will honour this journey , learn from it but not to punish myself or give up. thanks ! 💞
I've use to be tiny all the time. I literally couldn't gain weight easily. Now that I am older (40's) I gain weight so easily and weight loss is slow. I agree with overall lifestyle changes no dieting. I have come to be very mindful in the what I eat and pay attention to portion size. I try and stay away from sugary drinks and junk food as much as possible. That alone helped me a lot. I also don't beat myself up if I eat something that is not the healthiest food. I just remind myself if I had something unhealthy to balance the rest of the day with meals that are healthier. I found cutting out too many foods at once my body wasn't getting the nutrients it needed. So to me it's all about balance. Light exercise/ being active also helped me to feel stronger and overall feel better. You don't have to exercise like crazy to feel good.
OK let me tell you guys what I experienced as a dieter. To be honest if weight loss the goal. I can look into anyones eyes that I have done it and I can sustain it. Because I know myself and I know that I can really do it. My plan was: OMAD semi-vegetarian diet. Now let me tell you about what are the challenges that I encounter 1. Social pressure - You will be sacrificing night outs and as for me that have little social life that's ok. 2. Self-taught feel that I could be endangering myself rather than helping myself - My educational background is medically-inclined and I like to learn things. Researching ways to add value to my diet plan (either remove/adding certain type of foods) and of course doing it without supervision of doctors/nutritionist feel some pride but put a toll in my health. Now I am gaining weight not because I have the urge to actually eat again. But because I need to eat to prevent myself getting killed. And believe me I still want to maintain/lose weight but in a healthy way. And due to that here are some of my tips and based on experience I will follow this guidelines when I will start my weight loss/maintenance journey 1. If you NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT BADLY GET HELP youtube is not the best source you will get. Why? Because like me you are unique individual and experts need to discuss with you how you should do it. (They will ask some test to determine which food you need to restrict and why) It will save you maybe not money but your time and your life. 2. If you think you need to lose weight ask yourself why. If it is because you got offended by body shamers and not because you feel there's something wrong with yourself. Forget it. There is high probability you will not commit anyway. You feel bad because of them then you try to look good but because you do not like it, that would not be an exciting thing to do let alone committing to lose weight. Back then, the reason why I wanted try to lose weight not because I want to lose weight but because I wanted to see how far I can go without binging food. And that mindset worked for me rather than asking myself to reduce weight because someone said I am not good enough. Where's the excitement on that? 3. Explore natural foods. Believe me if you ate revolting foods you will not die! Remember that if the food even though tastes bad but gives you a lot of benefits (eg: bitter melon/bitter gourd) from time to time you should remind yourself to eat them sometimes because it could potentially save your life or at least provide good nutrition for your body to use. 4. Search for foods that can help you in the long run and understand how they affect you personally example: I liked tofu ever since and I was able to remove beef/pork on my food list entirely just by focusing on tofu and chicken. Light but delicious. Good for losing weight and being healthy. 5. It's better to eat little of everything rather than eating the same kind of food all over again (even they have the same amout of calories). Remember that your body need vitamins and minerals to function and eating part potato and part bread is better than eating whole bread or whole potato because if you eat too much of just one food 1. you get too much nutrition that your body might not need and unlucky it would be hard for your body to remove it 2. but on the other hand when you eat small amount but in variety you get the best of all those food in right amount as well. Example: Fiber for potatoes, Protein (Gluten) for bread. 6. Don't do cheat day - it is a trap guys we have been there and it is bad not because you eat more calories than usual but because it will not curb your appetite and it will rather increase it. So if you don't need to eat more just eat the right amount. 7. Quit being sedentary - when I started to lose weight I felt that I really need to move my body. I guess that's my bodys' way of telling me that I am healthier than before so I walk more and enjoy nature more when I lose weight. So try to walk. Spare some time even 30 seconds to walk then increase it day by day and you will see the results. You do not have to rush yourself, you just need to commit yourself to your goal no matter how slow it is.

This is so true. I used to be very overweight but now I'm less overweight. there was a time that I was naturaly and easily losing weight and this is how I was treating my weightloss journey but after a while I began dieting and tried different tecniques for losing weight. My new attitude towards my weightloss journey made me regain my lost weight. Now I want to restart it with this approach.
You make such a good point about we always focus on what foods we can't have rather than what foods we can have. I really hadn't thought of it that way before but I think that is one of my biggest issues. "I can't eat bread, I can't eat potatoes" Okay, what /can/ I have? Otherwise I just end up going for whatever is accessible which is often not the best options.

I just discovered your channel and it was an instant subscribe, not only do you clearly possess profound understanding of the nuance to the relationship with food, you always have a great camera personality, your way of speaking is charismatic and engaging without being loud, annoying and in your face like typical, yelling RU-vidrs with overdone expressions and acting. You not only know your stuff, you know how to deliver them.
