The first step is to acknowledge your biases, and then you can learn.

Like learning morals aren't as simple as you think. Like nor everyone who disagrees with you is homophopic or that not all homophopic people are bad people. Or that you can't trust a influencer of any type or celebrity.

even then, I don't want to see stories about the right saying LGBTQIA+ people are bad and why that is because when I do, I start hating myself for being "not normal" and I hate myself for being ace and not wanting to be pumping out babies for a husband like is expected of me, even though the thought of that, let alone the process of baby making, makes me nauseated. I try to watch videos like that and due to Catholic guilt and growing up in a Conservative way, I know that I'd end up abandoned if more people knew

I feel the same. I do not want to be biased at all, hence, I love the truth because I know the truth is a fuel for me to do what is right. The problem is, same as yours, i want to heal from toxicity that cause me to wrath. It makes me a bad person and might cause me heart diseases even if i am still young. The problem is, every time i see the sources and refference of the right wing and religious videos, they make trigger my wrath most of the time and makes me longer to heal. but, ill always be open if the liberal is wrong as well. i do not like misinformations at all.

That's extremely biased considering you are associating yourself into it without seeing yourself as a separate entity. I can name plenty of problems with lgbtq despite being lgbtq. As you are not everyone, if you think like that you take things too personally. And your idea of straight is just so wrong. Like Germany in the 1930-1940s type of stuff. You are responsible for yourself abd should try and take in as many prospective as possible. While also realising this channel is VERY bias. Like just straight up having no real sources for anything.

Really good video, Prof. We all need to reflect on our own biases, while protecting ourselves from toxic hatred. It is hard work, but it's important.

Or maybe learn something simple like not everyone who disagrees hares you? Or the fact you call him professor despite him having no qualifications meaning your trusting him based on your biases. Yeah, when you acknowledge biases you need to look where you don't want to. Curiosity is the best for being unbias.

I go by a few rules: Be skeptical, I don't know everything, life is complex rather black and white, have a variety of people in my life regardless if I agree with them or not (just as long as I'm safe). This is very helpful and it makes me more willing to listen to what you have to say. I'm gonna share this with my friends and brother. Its just something everyone should know. Critical thinking and checking resources is important.

There's also intolerance of ambiguity. We often get frustrated if there isn't a clear truth, and sometimes we can't get that clear truth, so we cling to an opinion as fact. "I don't know" is a valid answer to help keep an open mind.

You mean like how this channel lies based on little evidence about historical figures? Yeah, I have never been one to take sides. Most people say I don't really follow any crowd. So that makes it pretty obvious when others are. Like the left and right both are horrible, just terrible. They can't comprehend compromise. Like abortion, your both wrong its not just about controlling your body and its not really murder. As you don't see it as human life, which it is. You could make it illegal but with exceptions like medical issues or teen mothers. Or make it so if you do it too many times you are no longer allowed to get pregnant as its no longer an accident. But no one gose with that idea as something being half sentient half not is too difficult to understand.

but being biased is totally fine. the most important thing is to be honest in regards to it.
@temporalcatcher9950
@temporalcatcher9950 2 месяца назад
I would add being mindful of how the bias shape your opinion is just as important. Honesty is good, but I’ve seen people justify bluntness for the sake of honesty. Prudence will temper the bias to help know when an opinion is justified and when it’s not.

Not, really you need to consider your idea of what makes right and wrong might be completely wrong. Like you think you are good but most people think they are including dictators. If you don't research what you aren't comfortable with thats closed mindedness. A gane series I know has this motto nothing is true everything is permitted. Pretty much saying never limit your perception as anything is possible.

Granted I'm not very political and got into politics to make friends but I often find it interesting to bounce the ideas in one echo chamber off another echo chamber. Then I can collect both their takes, granted there's usually more then 2 sides but I'm simplifying somewhat for brevity, and then compare where they are consistent and where they are not (ideally comparing with a disinterested (unbiased is even better but they are rare at best) source as well) and see what is and is not included in each one. Not to mention watching content by creators across the isle to try and get more intel to build up a better picture of what's really going on. As they taught us in history class; every source has an agenda and so neither trust nor distrust but investigate.
@breakingpoint6889
@breakingpoint6889 Месяц назад
Exactly I only trust sources that have no reason to lie except from kindness. Like alit of lgbtq people actually dislike pride because it destroys the point of being seen as normal. I find sources like reddit are an echo chamber fir the left while the right are on other platforms. So it's obvious most people here claim others are bias but are very much so. I have no loyalty to any cause except what will cause the best outcome. Or vengeance, I have thought about voting for the opposite party out of spite because one keeps sending me letters. I also had to do alot of research on history so I get where your coming from.

16:45 Wait: you said "push moderate liberals to the Extreme left" and then showed a picture of Biden beside Trump. Biden has never been "left", nevermind 'extreme left" Edit: Like I was aware corporations fund "both sides" but both "big tent" parties in the US are pro-corporate.
