In Lodestar, when “the disaster” happens and they go back in to find Mr. Forkle and Oralie in the collapsed building, there was a scene that I would like the point out Keefe: “is there a reason I keep getting this crazy rush whenever I touch your hand?” (Then Shannon writes: he cleared his throats when he realized how that sounded) Keefe: “What I mean is, your emotions always feel strong, but now they’re on another level” - Sophie: “because I manifested as an enhancer. I’m supposed to wear gloves, but I took them off to help Edaline.” (Then Shannon writes about how Sophie thought Keefe would show off that he predicted she’d get another ability, but instead..) Keefe: “So that rush was an even clearer reading of your emotions?” Sophie: “Probably, why?” Keefe: “No reason” (Shannon writes about how Sophie saw a grin from Keefe in the dim light) Sorry if my comment was too long, thanks to those who read it :)
I dropped everything when I saw the title 😂! The new lights and sound are amazing, and I would have never guessed that you were filming on an iPhone! Here are my Team FosterKeefe responses: 1. The basis of Sophie’s relationship with Fitz was definitely pretty superficial. She focuses way more on what Keefe is to her rather than what he looks like. 2. Like you said, while it’s okay to be angry, Fitz takes it too far and makes Sophie feel bad. She is comfortable enough with Keefe to tell him when he’s wrong, but she tiptoes around Fitz. 3. YESSS THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARGUMENTS! Sophie’s cognatedom with Fitz has made it necessary to trust him, but her and Keefe’s trust was earned over time without any push. She goes to Keefe first because, like it said in the books, she knows that their friendship is a judgment free zone. 4. There are a bunch of reasons why Fitz doesn’t want to be a bad match, and I don’t think he can be blamed for all of them, but that absolutely adds to the Sokeefe argument. 5. I try not to rely on the Head vs Heart theory, but it is strange that Shannon Messenger would bring this up without doing anything with it! I think this is a unpopular opinion, but I don’t actually mind the relationship focus of Keeper because this is Sophie’s story first, and the Black Swan and Neverseen’s second. These were some great reasons! I would love to watch a video countering Fitzphie arguments! I love Keeper debates! Thank you for the video!!! (Sorry for the comment length 😳😂)
Counter arguments to your reasons: 1. (Sophie only likes Fitz because of his looks) It's not like Sophie only compliments Fitz's looks, but she really likes Fitz's looks. That's what people see when they first meet someone, and that's the reason Sophie started to like him, and I'll admit, Sophitz wasn't really a big ship around the first book in Exile. But after? It has a whole lot of how caring Fitz is as well. (And maybe the reasons she doesn't comment on Keefe's looks as much is because she doesn't think he's as handsome as Fitz? 2. (Fitz has anger issues) First of all, the three reasons Fitz has lashed out on Sophie is because 1. She didn't tell him that his father had brain issues and thus Alden's mind broke. 2. Sophie let Alvar go. 3. Sophie is hiding things from Fitz and instead tells them to Keefe and Ro. These are perfectly reasonable reasons to get angry, and most of the times he gets angry is because of Alvar, and that makes sense too! Because his brother that betrayed him, tried to kill/drug his crush, did horrible things to many people, deserves to die. To say that he always blames people is wrong. 3. (Trust) Probably the reason she went to Keefe is because she... idk, felt comfortable around him, maybe? But the only reason she said that she's unmatchable is because Ro pushed it out of her! Maybe reread that scene? Also, the only thing she doesn't feel comfortable saying around Fitz is unmatchable. There's a thing like that with Keefe too. Sophie didn't feel comfortable with showing Keefe the letter Gisela sent him, in Neverseen. Furthermore, Fitz wasn't angry at Sophie because she's unmatchable, he was angry at her for not trying to fix being unmatchable. That's a difference. Fitz doesn't know anything except matchmaking up till now with his golden background, but I think he'll learn in the future books. (ANDDD, why would Shannon make a Cognate thing for Sophie and Fitz if they didn't trust each other??? XD) 4. (Fitz can't handle a bad match) This is a matter of opinion, but personally, I think he'll get over it. As he said in the second-to-last-scene of legacy, he misses his girlfriend. And if Sophie doesn't care, then he'll be like that forever, so he must change. And as you said, they'll probably find out her biological dad, so maybe Sophitz could happen. 5. Umm... how weird is that? How could you not know that you like someone? Knowing you like someone is the same as liking someone. That's the problem with this theory. Also, when Keefe said he suddenly believes that theory after he got enhanced and read Sophie's emotions, those could be heart emotions for Fitz. AND, when Sophie and Fitz were having a moment in Flashback, Fitz's heart echo hurt (implying that he had real emotions from the heart), but Sophie's head emotions didn't hurt (implying that her emotions were from her heart, not head). (if you read this to the end, I'd love for you to have counter reasons for my argument!) Thanks, Noah
I super duper agree!! She only ever talks about Fitz’s looks, never his personality, while she talks about how Keefe is such a good person and how funny he is. But I don’t blame her because Fitz’s personality isn’t the best... her and Fitz are better as friends, her being scared to talk to Fitz when they were together is a HUGE RED FLAG!! Fitz will find his person, but it definitely isn’t Sophie. Also Fitz keeps apologizing and then keeps making the same “mistakes”. It’s just not right.

I think that Sophie likes Fitz in her head because of his looks and how he is so perfect but i think that she likes Keefe in her heart and when Keefe read her hearts emotion he found that and that is why he smiled and why he didn’t tell her. So that is my theory. SOPHIE AND KEEFE BETTER GET TOGETHER IN UNLOCKED!!
You make some really good points! I never realized some of the pointers you made. It actually makes me dislike Fitz more. No offense to Sofitz shippers, but I seriously don’t like the fact where Fitz is the golden boy and gets practically everything he wants while Keefe is just suffering trying to not mess anything up. Fitz is also manipulative, you can tell by how he always makes Sophie feel like Fitz is the victim and she always ends up saying sorry even though HE should be saying sorry, and Fitz is going through stuff, but so is Keefe?? Like he needs some lessons from Keefe 😳🤚

So like Sokeefe seems to be like the endgame ship. But then who will Fitz end up with? To my conclusion: I think Fitz will become a councilor. It makes sense and he seems perfect for the role.
So in a video from someone on RU-vid (KotLC._.Nerd), in the description they said "I believe that Sophie likes fitz in her head and Keefe in her heart" and I totally agree with this.

Hey I'm like a month late but I just wanted to add to the head and the heart theory that I'm pretty sure Keefe does also read Sophie's emotions from her heart at the end of Lodestar, thats why he says he felt something he'd never felt before and why it is a such a big Sokeefe moment because Keefe thinks that he might have a chance with Sophie since she does love him, she just doesn't know it yet.
I have a theory that by the end of Legacy that her heart emotions finally won over her head. The fact that she chose to stay by Keefe’s side instead of wanting to fix things with Fitz, that was a already big sign that Sokeefe is endgame.
If anyone has read unlocked and you read keefes art commentary that just ups the sokeefe points like OMG!!! He said quote on quote: “there maybe is a tiny bit of chance that this BEAUTIFUL and BRAVE girl might like me” And: “sometimes fitz gets mad at him and says stuff to her that makes me want to slap him upside” And when she needs to tell fitz something she’s scared cause he will lash out But with keefe he doesn’t care he said all these amazing things about her and try’s to control fitz when she lashes out And In legacy fitz got jealous of keefe HOLDING SOFIES HAND. But in unlocked when keefe left that letter he hoped that fitz would actually treat her like the women she is. HE SAID THAT!!!

Hello! I ❤️ Sokeefe! Not that Sophitz is bad, I just don’t think it works. I like how Shannon picked off Sophie’s, I don’t know a better word, but suitors, but kept them as friends. She knows that the readers get so attached to the book and knows they’ll be sad if she leaves them out. I also like how the ships that Shannon cuts off, although there are only 2, and they’re kind of wrapped up in a bow. They ended, not with a fight, but with an agreement between the two characters. Hi guys! I just wanted to say that I agree with all of these reasons, and a thank you to Joey for respecting the Sophitz (Fitzphie) shippers. Overtime I preferred Sokeefe over Sophitz for just about all those reasons. Now, I'm not saying that I don't like Fitz, I think that he can be an interesting character! Yet, I'm hoping that if Sophie DOES end trying again with Fitz, I at least want Sophie to like him personality-wise. Still rooting for Sokeefe though! :D
9:10 I disagree with your point. Before I go one I am NOT a Sophitz shipper nor Sokeefe (#Sosingle). But ships are flawed and both of them aren't close to being perfect. Sophie is hanging out with another guy so Fitz is COMPLETELY entitled to be jealous. Especially someone who is someone he was forced to be friends with by his dad. Sophie may not have exactly cheated on him but it is also Sophie's fault.
I agree with all of these reasons. I'm a SoKeefe supporter and ever since I read legacy I started thinking that Fitz was kind of a jerk. So the last thing I'm going to say is: GO TEAM SOKEEFE!

The reason why Fitz’s mind isn’t broken is probably because anger is a reaction to guilt, just like recklessness is a reaction to guilt. Not everyone breaks there mind because of guilt....
I’m not entirely sure which relationship I would vote for, but I never fully understood Keefe’s instability, though it made him a more believable character. I think Sophie would just be better off waiting until she’s older to make any sort of decision that might affect her VERY long life. Either way, I think a lot more people ship Sokeefe more so than Sofitz, and this video helped me understand that better. Thanks KOTLC fanbase!

First of all, the video's title should have been *7 reasons not to ship Sophitz*. No offense, though. Second of all, the way Joey was describing Fitz was just having such a pure emotion--Annoyed as heck, having to repeat it over and over again, *Movie-star smile, gorgeous teal eyes, perfect face*, it must have been hard. LOL. Then finally, 8:40 Joey had been a real representation of all the clueless Sokeefe fans out here (including me), like 'C'mon Sophie! I don't know how, but do it somehow! Understand that your emotions for Keefe are deeper than for what you have for Fitz!'. Again a big LOL. And, like every other Sokeefe shipper, I had immediately dropped everything I was doing (i.e studying for my half-yearly mathematics exam coming up tomorrow) as soon as I saw the name 'Sokeefe' and came here dashing. AYYYYYYYYY!!! YAS the equipment be getting lit!(lol me trying to sound like a gen z millennial is cringe) YES EXACTLY!!! Looks shouldn’t be a main reason. Yeah from what I can remember, Keefe only has been mad at sophie 3 times. All in the same book where he was dealing with emotional trauma. YES YES YES!! She goes to keefe a lot. Fitz CAN NOT be a good match. In book 6 keefe said he was debating registering, and honestly yeah he doesn’t care to much about the “Elvin standards” He loves Sophie wayyyyy more. Sophie will probably not put Oralie on the spot on her application. THE HEART AND HEAD THEORY!!! Ok ok ok. I make fun of Sophie’s obliviousness a lot, but tbh, it can be PRETTY hard to tell if someone likes you. (From personal experience from someone liking me for 2 years and I had no clue no matter how many hints. In the legacy when Sophie had to restart her abilities Keefe kept sending mental breezes to help calm her down during the procedure HE COULD FEEL THE PAIN SHE WAS ON THE WHOLE TIME!!!!
I can’t say I’m ever gonna ship Sokeefe. I honestly think it’s just as toxic as Sofitz and that it’d be better if Sophie just didn’t date anyone by the end of the series but you make _some_ good points. I don’t mean to be rude or anything but when coming up with reasons to ship Sokeefe, it’d probably be a better idea to think of reasons why Sokeefe is good and not reasons Sofitz is bad or it just seems like you’re trying to state that people shouldn’t ship Sophie and Fitz. I honestly think Shannon just sucks at writing characters and their arcs. She’s great with world building and plotting but character arcs just isn’t a strength of hers. It’s kinda like Harry Potter in that sense. The characters didn’t have much depth but there was a great plot and intense world building. For a time after Legacy, I _did_ ship Sokeefe but I’m currently rereading the books so I can do a rewrite of them and Sokeefe is honestly really toxic as well. I think Shannon needs to let her characters mature before they can even start dating.
