In this video, we showed you wall painting tricks, hacks and tips that will be very useful when painting. If you need to paint at home, applying the paint tricks and tricks shown in this video will make your job much easier.
As a professional painter and owner of a painting company I can say I laughed at every hack in this video. Not one thing in this video is something painters do.
Agree! At least they’re worth a chuckle! 😂 The first rule of cutting-in is…you don’t cut-in with the brush, you cut-in with the paint. (For those who don’t understand that statement it means that you let the paint flow about 1/8 of an inch off the bristles to the cut-in line)
Professional painter with 20+ years experience here. While I do commend these “hacks” for inventiveness, and maybe worth doing if your supplies are limited (like trimming a chip brush to be an angled brush, or improvising an extension pole) these are not tricks I have ever used (or seen used) on a job. I guess tin foil would work in a pinch if you didn’t have any cutting skills or tape, and you were masking out a large area to be sprayed….but really, if one just practices cutting in with a 2-2.5” angled brush for a while, your jobs will get much easier. It’s not knowledge you’re born with, anyone can get at least decent at cutting in with some practice. Here’s a Pro Tip for the viewers at home for cleaning brushes: try to keep your brush from drying out. Wrap it in plastic or a wet rag if you don’t have a bucket of water (or solvent) to swish it in. When you are ready to clean it at the end of a job, use dish soap and a wire brush to work out all the paint. As long as the paint didn’t dry up inside the brush, you should be able to get most of it out, extending the life of your brush. Here ends the lesson. 😎👌
Trust me folks. Professional painters hide none of these things from you. Mostly because we don't use them. All you need is a high quality brush (the right one for the right job), and practice. Gimmicks are more trouble than they are worth.
I thought that one was actually pretty decent. There are alot of raised, oddly shaped surfaces that I can see folding foil around easier to apply (and remove) than tape.
That’s why all rollers handles have threads at the bottom of handles. To add a stick, some short, some long. It has never been a secret, trick or so called hacks nowadays. The only trick I can tell you if you need your whole house painted outside, $6k-9k costs nowadays. You can paint yourself at $400-800 total costs including materials. 3 to 5 days of your life will save you $281 an hour @$9k painter job. That’s an equivalent of $380 an hour before taxes if you make yourself that at your job.
As an amateur painter, I found myself not laughing at the tips, but the way you made the video, it's great! I still tape to get those nice lines, but the coke bottle over the can, I'm definitely going to try it. I used the silicone and denatured alcohol trick once, it actually worked!
There are some really good ideas demonstrated here and I can’t wait to try them out when I paint the interior of my house next month. Thanks for for this helpful info. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
When I paint around a doorway frame, a window frame or a thermostat box etc. I always tap the tips of the brush bristles over the section I just painted so to hide the lines or streaks that you can get in an area that is painted with long strokes. When you lightly tap the tips of the brush over those long paint strokes it breaks the paint lines up and blends that area's surface into the wall. 👍
Brushes I have seen come already shaped. Rollers are sold with extension poles. There are Fullels and pour spouts for various sized paint cans, Although the idea of a cap looks interesting.
Removing that plastic cover before painting and putting it back after would take seconds, much faster than messing up with the foil, cheaper, and would guarantee better quality.
I dont know how i have ever coped, painting my house for 20 plus years without knowing these tips lol.. Ive been wasting time washing my brush by hand when i could have got my drill out and and found a screw to drill in to spin my brush for me. Why take 2 mins washing when this will take me 4 mins to set up lol.. And not to mention instead of not over loading my brush with paint i could just put a cup lid on my brush to catch and waste all my paint. Good job lol..
@@qasmb1546 🤣🤣🤣 Let me guess, you're a painter and you must use tape, wear sandles, got a man bun, and wear black latex gloves so not to get paint on you freshly manicured fingernails.
@@ChrisC-fr8yu I use tape, don't wear sandles, don't have a man bun. wear gloves. Most importantly get a better finish in a quicker time than someone like you.
@@ChrisC-fr8yu And Fyi I'm not just a painter. I think that's why I'm open to tricks which make the job easier and quicker, i.e using tape. Your type remind me of them old heads who swear they would never use a drill because "real builders don't use drills". All die out in the end.
You should have just took off the cover off switch, use painters tape for some edges, some turpentine or paint thinner would help clean the brushes better too.
This has got to be the most hilarious post on You Tube history. best comedy I've seen in years. And to believe some people actually believe in this crap, amazing
Im a professional painter and if i didnt have any tape i could see how aluminum foil could come in handy..Even tho i could see somebody using these ideas its all about the experience and the brush you use..even the paint .painters have been doing things a certain way and thats just how it is...But like i said if you were at home and didnt have access to certain materials then yea these hacks would work!!
Busquen rodillos antigoteo. Abrazo grande.
