If no one said so - the Evans 'EQPC2' double kick patch is more felt beater friendly ;) - It's the transparent plastic looking style.

I was looking at the KZ AS10s, which has 5 drivers... Great list.. I added a Gon Bops Small Percussion Tray with Heavy-Duty Clamp to mount under my Mimic to put random stuff on!

Good video. I think no1- it is powerful monitor speaker, unable speaker, for example QSC12.2, what can give right sound and feel, not only to ears, but around to band members. It’s like: real drums on stage, with similar punch and volume.. I saw, most of PA sounds NOT, like I hear my module from studio headphones.. And good samples sounds tiny and different.. you never know, how it can be time to time, no matter what, kits sounds the same, but PA or monitors give different picture.. that’s why I think it number one, to play live different gigs confident..

I stopped using IEM's 6 months ago after getting some on and off again tinnitus. I saw an ENT and she told to me stop using them immediately, and I haven't had the problem since. I guess for some us the IEM's can be little hard on the ears. I now just use beyerdynamic dt770 pros headphones and haven't had the problem since. Just mentioning in case IEM's start to bother any of you. If they do, you might want to switch to regular headphones to prevent potential hearing loss.
@TheeDrumWorkshop
@TheeDrumWorkshop 3 года назад
What a shame! I've had tinnitus since college - originally thought it was a drumming thing but turned out to be related to hearing issues I'd had from birth. Fortunately the IEMs don't seem to aggrevate it for me, but if they ever did, I'd stop using them! Good shout looking out for the health of your ears and putting that first!

About the FD7 , the rubber inside it is much better than the ones comming with the FD8.... It doesnt stiffen and has a slippy material on top of it ( so no need for vaseline ) ... i have one from a TD5 kit and it is still responding perfectly ...
@markdoolan3424

You can cut slots into the rubber actuator inside and it should flex and be supple like it was like new. Or you could just buy a new actuator which i may also do to see how it performs!

Carrying a spare rim mounted kick and snare/tom trigger is a must for me! I have a 2box Trigit kick and snare/tom just in case one of the piezo's fail mid gig. It doesn't often happen but it has and I haven't been prepared.

The eDrum Workshop sure. I’ve carried spared modules too! (Never has to use it and now I only have the one, you betcha I’m gonna need it on one of these gigs, when they start up again) but of course there’s a point where there’s enough spares to have a smaller secondary kit, perhaps that’s a little over kill?
@TheeDrumWorkshop
@TheeDrumWorkshop 4 года назад
Haha yeah, I guess there's a cut-off somewhere in there! I've never really had room for more than a spare drum and cymbal pad and one clip-on trigger but I have a priority in my head of what will be swapped around if necessary with some trigger banks saved to accommodate. I haven't gone with a spare module myself, fortunately not been an issue but you never know really!

I have an acoustic kit. It's to loud for me even tho my neighbors are a ways away. I'm thinking about getting the Roland td-17kvx2 to practice on. I would already have the high hit stand and kick pedal. The lick pedal is double sided. Felt and rubber. Can I just turn to the rubber side to use on the ekit? I also bought drum patches for the kick drum. I'm also getting nylon tips for the ekit. Anything else I should order right away?

Great vid! When I moved from acoustic to edrums, I left a lot behind apart from pedals, throne etc. But the best thing I went back for and use all the time is my drum dial. The Roland manual says to tension the heads before using them, but doesn’t say what tension or how to achieve it. The dial allows me to get even tension on each lug, and once I’ve found a tension I like it’s easy to get back to it. Correct head tension can be important in minimising hot spots, and is good practice anyway.

Ironically I learned how to tune drum heads after I bought my v drums. So I just use those RU-vid tutorials on how to tune drum heads and I apply the same thing to the meshes. Also nylon tips rule for electric and acoustic. For the acoustic it makes everything including the drum heads seem very much brighter. Heads up. Not very many tutorials on how the tune concert drums which is what I also have for my acoustic. I think I figured it out but there's no information in my opinion on the web.

I was just saying that the "extra tight" pressure function isn't available in the VH-11. I'm not sure if the washer works with the VH-11, can't remember whether the plunger on it is the same size or shape as the Goedrum one. The documentation for the washer doesn't mention the VH-11 either so it would be best to check with the creator. Sorry for the confusion!
