Plural marriage/Polygamy isn't legal in the USA but that doesnt stop people from having ceremonies and living together with multiple spouses. When doing so causes legel/social welfare issues is when law enforcement/social serivices get involved.
The really, really, really big problem here are the ages involved. The marriages aren’t legal, so that age of consent loophole (which is ridiculous all on its own, but that’s a topic for another day) doesn’t apply. This guy should have been sent to prison.
@@madhattergodess according to his spokeman in an article published shortly before he died in hospital, apparently that 72 is with 16 different women. 38 are acknowledged and have his surname.
I myself am an LDS member and I never knew a splinter church came from the guys who didn’t like how we outlawed polygamy. I guess you learn something new everyday
@@mastercoolguy2809You are living under a rock holy crap. I grew up in Utah. Everybody knows what flds is. Are you crazy? How did you go your whole freaking life without knowing anything. You ever leave your house? Did you ever go to Costco in St George? Come on man.
Try to keep in mind that all of these women KNEW what Tom was doing and STILL married and had kids with him.... This is a story of ONE terrible man and SIX terrible women!
In the old days, it made sense when people got married at that age so I understand that part but the wife's family tree part? what? That damn messed up!
I am glad he is No longer alive and the wifes actually realized then their lives with him was very wrong, they left their home and nowdays they have their own husbands and live happily with their own families 👍
For anyone who isn't know, we are living in Tom's marriage world just like gamboll cartoon but in the end we all married with Tom but we just didn't notice.
Bruh not even us Arabs can compete with that, honestly congrats man you became a tribal leader literally you live in the dessert with many wifes cant get more arab than that. Respect 🐪💣🗿
Playing Devil's Advocate here: If he's able to provide food, shelter, clothing and protection for all his family - and all of them are reasonably happy with the unholy arrangement - then...why the heck not? (devil's advocate)
In most modern Western cultures yes - but there's plenty of other cultures where the age of consent is completely different to ours, and even examples in ancient times - does anyone really believe that King Solomon's 700 wives were all 'age appropriate' etc@@nobitatabino5959
