This yin yoga class will help to support highly sensitive people with overstimulation through the urinary bladder meridian line with lots of yin yoga poses for the urinary bladder meridian line. These are yin yoga poses that focus on the hamstrings. Because of all the straight legged forward folds, this class is generally not appropriate for those with back problems, herniated discs or sciatica although modifications will be given.
Our bladder meridian runs from the inside corners of our eyes, over the top of our head, along either side of our spine, along the backs of our legs, and ends at the outside of the baby toe. It is the longest and most complex meridian line in our body.
Our bladder meridian channel is related to the autonomic nervous system because it runs along the back of the body with two parallel branches flowing along either side of the spine. The four branches of the bladder meridian influence our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Because the highly sensitive person is prone to overstimulation it is not unusual for our sympathetic nervous system to be overly-activated, putting us in a continual state of fight or flight. In this class we will be stimulating the bladder meridian line to connect with the restful, restorative parasympathetic nervous system.
In today´s yin yoga class we will create an abundant balance in our internal bank so that we have a large cushiony reserve from which to lean into when our delicate nervous system gets overstimulated. When we have energy stored away, in reserve it will help us to meet life: the sounds, the sights, the smells with greater ease.

Usually my dogs gather around me during yoga, especially yin classes but this, they glued themselves to me. It was cushy to say the least. I loved the bat poem immensely. I had to guide one out of the living room yesterday evening. Thank you this beautiful calming class! 🌺🌺🌺

Felt the poem about the bats had resonance today, if I think of how the virus began with bats and think of the symbolism and medicine of the bat. Very grateful to have come across you x

Modified this practice to care for my back, including doing sphinx at the end rather than the long-hold Caterpillar forward fold. I think one of the things folks like me miss from the days when we could bend all we wanted is the calming effect of these poses. Glad to learn how to modify, and also surprised at how much I fidgeted in this class. There is something to learn from that, and I didn't beat myself up. Cushiony reserve? Got it! Namaste.

I didn't practice yoga until I found your classes and they are perfect to me to do in my bedroom at any time I can escape and nurture myself. While I would not label myself a HSP, I definitely can feel my energy wane around excess stimulation. Thank goodness for our grounding practices. I LOVE this yoga practice , it is Much needed to practice regularly , as i AM highly sensitive , just like you. I have a cushiony reserve for my nervous system 💙 wow that's the longest I've ever been in seated wide legged forward fold, normally I struggle and can't wait to get out of it, but being in it for so long my body gradually eased into it and I sunk lower and lower xxx

I have a coshiony reserve for my nervous system. So calming and at a pace for really tired body to cope with. Kind of missing the peacocks sound from the park. (Crows are lovely Bird aswell.) But its wierdly calming even if it sounds like some one is killing them.

Please edit your audio! As you said yourself, highly sensitive people have problems with annoying sounds. It's very hard to relax with super loud static noise.
