first it's not 1/4 it's 1/2 mile race, not the REACT time you set is important, Only the vmax speed counts!. Second even in 1/2 races many guys wait for about 1- 2 seconds, if they might crash they don't crash into the second car on track💡

I grew up in the 90's and cars drove much more fun then then now.

Cars today are far better made, quieter, safer, more efficient etc. But these old hot hatchbacks were such fun, plus at 130+mph you knew that if you crashed you would probably die so that adds extra danger haha!!! The problem with the 16 valve was it just couldn't put the power down without spinning the wheels, maybe a limited slip diff would have made a big difference. A friend took me out in a Renault Megane Sport 225 and that was impressive, it put all that power down with barely any wheelspin, so things have moved on. But I loved my 16 valve, it was an incredible engine and I had great fun in my younger years driving it fast (130mph every single day, and never got a speeding ticket haha!) I miss the car and I miss the 90s!!!

@@Exciteddelirium1 it was a fantastic engine, with great power AND decent spread of torque. I had the Coscast (proper Cossie head) and no cat, those Ecotec heads put out lower power and went porous after a while due to the cheaper way Vauxhall made the heads. A very rapid (for the time) car that I still miss. I'm married with kids nowadays, so sadly no more Hot Hatches for me. But my GTE days are still in my mind as I've even had dreams fairly recently about driving the car still (bit sad to admit that, but its the truth) and I sold it 17/18 years ago haha!!! So it definitely made a huge impression on me!!!

Dude, first it's not 1/4 it's 1/2 mile race, not the time you set is important, the speed is. Only the vmax counts. Second even in 1/4 races many guys wait for about 2 seconds, if they might crash they don't crash into the second car on track. The reaction time might be higher then, but after the run only the time from start to finish counts!! Like boba motoring has a total time of 10.2, but reaction time was 2 seconds so he set a 8.2 fastest golf ever

Ja der Kadett hat nur 600PS, bei der halben Meile geht es aber nicht um Reaktionszeit oder gefahrene Zeit, das einzige was zählt ist die gefahrene Endgeschwindigkeit! Deswegen starten die meisten auch relativ gemütlich

Leon beschäftige dich bitte ein bisschen mit der Disziplin 1/2Meile, Da geht's nicht um die gefahrene Zeit, nicht um den Start es geht einfach nur um die gefahrene Endgeschwindigkeit und obenraus hat der Allrad deutliche Nachteile

Bei Allrad benötigt man deutlich mehr Leistung um auf die gleiche Zeit zu kommen wie ohne Allrad.

Die gefahrene Fahrzeit wäre wahrscheinlich besser=schneller aber die gefahrene Höchstgeschwindigkeit wäre langsamer und nur um das geht's bei dieser Veranstaltung
