Greetings adventurers, in this video I show you how to remove your old handlebar and install a new one. This was A LOT easier than I had expected so I hope to give you all some confidence in doing this yourself. Hope this helps!

I also drilled the hole, but saw a better way after i was finished. You can get away with just drilling into the bar and not all the way through. That little drilled cone is enough to index the tab on the control. Nice work getting the location right on the first try! I have the one I use and a handlebar of shame that we don't talk about. I used the eyeball twice , cut once and swear technique. I highly recommend it.

That’s such a good idea, totally didn’t think of that. The thickness definitely would allow for a partial hole to be drilled. Thanks dude!

おつかれさまでした。私も同じ28mmφのクランプ買いました。でもその時はバーが26mmなんて知らなかったのでつけるのあきらめていました。確かにバーを曲げることもあるだろうし、その時はファットバーにして、同じように交換したいと思います。クランプはその時までとっておきますww

Thanks for sharing this DIY video, really helpful for a newbie like me. Just a few questions, kindly excuse if it is silly a) Drilling a hole in the bar will not make it weak point? b) As the new bar is heavier and thicker, what is the impact on the riding as such interms of handling?

Hey thanks for the comment. a) It will, but you can take the advice of another commenter who said you can just partially drill a hole and that’ll work too. b) I would say less vibration, but I haven’t tried the bar yet. I think larger impact will be the fact that it has a much lower rise than the stock which should provide for a tighter, more connected riding experience.
