Today we have a Rock n Roll lifer on the show Mr Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
I have been listening to this mans music since the 90's and I have to say he is a huge influence on me with his outlook on art and work ethic.
With over 19 records out and more to come this man is the real deal. Anton has never been afraid to speak his mind and also explore all kinds of sounds and feelings in his music.
The Brian Jonestown are currently out on tour and also have 2 new records coming out including Fire Doesn't Grow on Trees which will be out June 24th.
Anton and I sit down and dive deep into all things Jonestown so sit back and enjoy this conversation.

I saw him play in Philadelphia. It’s the only show I have ever been to that had real fuckin danger. He fired the bass player during the show. He was throwing back Stoli Greyhounds and living on the edge. A true rock n roll original. Thanks Dean

It amazes me that with all the multi media out there that people still accept what's fed to them on mainstream entertainment instead of digging through the crates from the comforts of their own home. BJM? Never heard of them... come on man. Get digging just don't watch Dig!!! Thanks Dean

I listened to this ep while driving back from a show (Puscifer, in case anyone cares, lol), and I was surprised how affable Anton was with you. Before this, my only reference point was seeing him in the Dig! documentary, and he definitely seemed to be wrestling more demons back then, so it was nice to hear him being alot more charming. Although, as the podcast went on, I suspected if it was another hour longer, he might've gotten comfortable enough to really let the arrows fly 😁

I met him outside Boston’s Paradise club…. He came out and saw I had bought the vinyl of Revelations. He goes “excuse me, did you want me to sign that for you. I calmly said no, no thanks. He seemed a little shocked. I said but I would like a selfi: he smiled and goes “can I see your phone . “ he then changed the hew and color…., took the pic: It’s posted on my Instagram . We then talked about life for a good 20 min. He was genuine , humble and down to earth . Just thought I would I’ll add that
