Welcome to Cody's Corner Garage, where today we're digging into a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 250SE. This one has an OM616 under the hood, that was swapped in and left somewhat finished. Can I make this a reliable daily for my wife to cruise in the summer?

Your car is great! Congrats! Also I have a W108 with 300D (OM617, non-turbo) with 5-cylinders, but with manual transmission - in Hungary. There can be pros and cons at such conversions, I agree. But this combination can be very reliable, and fuel saving.

Hi ya buddy. OEL = OIL (pressure). LADUNG = Alternator or Charge. BREMSE = Handbrake. What else do you need to know? I am an old time Benz mechanic and know these cars real well.

That's great thanks! There's a bunch of switches to the left of the steering wheel. I know the headlight switch is one, but the rest don't seem to do anything, I'm not sure if they're working, what are the rest of them for?

@@CodysCornerGarage Some switches left to the steering wheel: - Überblendregler für Radio (ordered as extra), might mean a switching option between front and rear loudspeakers of the radio - possible heating of the rear windscreen (ordered as extra) The others I do not know. Maybe the previous owner put some extra functions...
