686 Raptor - Break In Ride - First Ride of 2021! 

Unfortunately just about the whole St Helen portion I had my cam off when I thought it was on. 🤦‍♂️ Missed the whole brake debacle.

I'd say it depends on how much time you spend on the quad. For me, I was one the fence about buying the shocks but decided to splurge..and I am glad I did. I ride pretty often and when I do it's 75-100 miles of trails. Will probably log 2000+ miles this year. The Elka's made a HUGE difference from the YFZ shocks I had on the ride before. Getting rid of the wheel spacers for +2 Albas really helped to. I am way less fatigued at the end of 100 miles than before and can carry so much more speed through the trails. It was a nice compliment to the extra 20+ HP I added to the motor this winter. If you've got the money and you ride A LOT, then I'd say its worth it. Otherwise, it might make more sense to go with something more cost effective like yfz450 shocks.

Oh yeah, it was a dust fest. Did 70 miles or so today in the same area. Dust wasn't too bad other than a few spots here and there.

@Kevin_Yagoonie I like them, they seem fairly well built and have plenty of adjustability. The a-arms plus the elka shocks made a huge difference with the added power. Unfortunately the quad is torn apart for another rebuild (bottomed end bearing) but I'd do 100-150miles a day on the trails and enjoyed every minute of it.

I just had it tuned by a local shop with a dyno. Jetting is a lot smaller than I would have guessed. 152.5 & 155 with a 15 pilot. 686cc, 11:1 piston, stage 2 hotcam, monster duals, port & polish. 50 HP and 40 ft-lbs of try. It has a beautiful flat torque curve, max torque through the whole rpm range. They ended up machining the needles to a custom size and modified the slides as well. She's running great now.
