there isn't a lot of space to work on your machine with the box in the way. Even when tipped up, it's just a pain! 3 pins and a plug are all you need to wide open access.

Your welcome. It was rough not having many to go off, when I first bought mine, so I thought I'd try to help where I could. There was definitely some struggles at the beginning trying to figure out how certain things worked on it.

@@ironheadbiker completely understand. I see you on the FB owners page as well. I'm still trying to determine which model, or even brand for that matter, suits my needs the best. A long time ago, my first MC was a 1200 Custom Sportster. Everyone told me not to get it for a variety of reasons, but it was what I could afford. Buyer's remorse set in within three first couple of weeks and after a month traded it in for a bigger bike st a huge loss. I really don't want a repeat of that. So I am biding my time and saving, meanwhile gleaning as much as I can from videos like this and your many others and from the FB pages. I am torn between the CFM U600 and U1000. Worried that the 600, like the Sportster, won't be enough for my needs. But really don't need all that the UF1k can give. My intention is around the homestead with plowing in the winter and taking down and dragging to the burn pile a bunch of trees. No real trails nearby, but not ruled out. I've also looked at the new CanAm Commander, which looks to be a great machine. But same dilemma between the 700 & 1000. But the CFM has so many more factory add on's that the other you pay a light more for. Anyways thanks again and for the reply. I am a subscriber!

Thanks again. Yeah I feel your angst. The 1000 has a ton of power. It's also very fast, I feel almost too fast for a utility machine. I had a 2011 ranger crew 800 that I liked because it was full sized, the top speed was 48mph. But had power that would more than handle any amount of work I threw at it, including plowing snow, and pulling a trailer. It's turn radius sucked tho. A major thing I don't care for in a utility side by side is the always locked rear end. I'm not sure if the 600 has it or not, but the 1000 does and I get nervous with any load in the box or on dry pavement, because there's a lot of stress put on those rear tires and rear ends- something has to give. I look back at my childhood a remember a 250cc utility 4 wheeler we had and thought that was big at the time. Lol. When I bought mine, I was seriously looking at the kawasaki mule pro that could switch from 6 seater to a 3 seater, and have a much large box. As with my Ranger, I wish the box was larger on my 1000 uforce. It's also much cheaper built construction wise, and I was disappointed in the useless stake rack holes on my uforce. They're kinda pieces together with plastic rivets, and although they can carry weight, they seem flimsy. Also the kawasaki 3yr factory warranty was attractive. I even thought diesel, which has a 30mph top speed, where the kubota is barely 20mph, since it is hydrostatic drive, so that took kubota off of my list, although I love my Kubota tractor. Not having seen or driven a 600. I'll say this, if it's a smaller body machine than the uforce 1000's, then it would have less hauling room in the box, and I think the uforce 1000's is too small. Hauling brush, the bed fills up fast, and most of the branches hang over the sides and can easily fall out. The lower gear in the 1000 is quite fast at up to 30mph I believe. I also feel this is why the uforce 1000 is so jumpy, they're trying to harness a lot of rms, and power with a belt drive. They should've slowed these down some. It's a very hard machine to be gentle with. The power into very "manageable". Can you plow with it, of course. Can you tow with it? Absolutely. But I had a full box of brush, went to move and it jerked almost the whole load out of the rear. Now when I took it to Ashland, wi on vacation last year to trail ride, it seemed more at home doing that, kept up quite well with a razor, honda talon, and a Maverick. It was great. But the suspension kinda sucks for trail riding. It's an in between machine. I have to be very careful with my dogs in it because it jerks so bad. The heat Is another issue. It's intense in the summer. I Tilt my window up in the summer to help. Also something to consider is resale. Down the road the 1000 should hold it's original value better. Soooooo, to be honest to you and if I'm hearing you correctly in your planned use and need for a machine, which is more geared to work, I really can't recommend the cfmotouforce u1000. There's too much plastic on the box, (it's sides are virtually hollow), and it's too jerky for tight spaces, or moving say, thru a woods or tight trees. The kawasaki seemed more metal than plastic. More geared for a ranch or hobby farm. The cfmotouforce 1000 has all the power, but it's useless because you can't manage it regularly. I don't need to drive thru my field at 65mph, but I DO need to be able to maneuver in tight spots safely. I like a low range to be a grunt range, slowly, safely go down a hill with a load. It's not that it's necessarily too powerful, it's "geared" way too high. It's not a practical work horse. It's more like fast rough riding trail machine that can carry and dump out a large cooler. For 3k more I could've gotten the mule with the convertible long bed . Sorry so long, but had a lot to say. It's been reliable. Great for zipping down the trail, as long as the trail is relatively smooth. But wouldn't be my 1st or 2nd choice for chores.

@@ironheadbiker not too long at all. Every point you made, have me an answer to one of my many questions, and that is tremendously appreciated! Tight slow maneuvers are a definite concern. And the jerkiness is something I see a lot of people comment on, on FFB.i really don't want that. I quit riding the MC after being hit a 2nd time, and getting a plate/ fusion in my cervical spine. Getting something that's going to aggravate that, would be a poor choice on my part. The one problem they we haven't discussed is that almost nobody has anything in stock. Almost, it's a good thing, as it's forcing me to slow down and research more. Unlike the HD dealer who is 5 minutes away and had several of everything. Of course, that was pre-fjb. The Sportster was an impulse buy, and I paid dearly for that! Thanks for taking the time to jot down all your thoughts. Thr Mule is a consideration, but till now, it really hadn't been a contender. They are great, reliable machines. Oh, I worked for Kubota as a mechanic after I got out of the military. They make awesome tractors! But new, they are stupid expensive! Once again thanks for all your advice, when I see you on FB, I'll chime in. Bruce C.

Yeah the dealer supply is still an issue, and going to be I'm afraid. Then with cfmoto cfmoto some things on the 2022 u1000, they have some new issues to figure out. Like the speedo calibration. They're still off, but it's a different display, so the way I calibrated mine doesn't work on the 2022s. , Not all of the kawasaki was good however in my eyes. I'm not a fan of the smaller tires and rims, making the ground clearance low. Especially on a longer vehicle. Can easily high center on the skid plates underneath. Another thing I didn't like is that the one I sat on had a flat smooth bench seat. Maybe 2" thick. Not sure how that would feel after a hour of riding around. Yeah I checked my old dealer in dubuque, ia and they don't have a single utility side/ side. And like you said about your Harley dealer. It's 5 miles away. Just like kubota dealer is to me. Facebook is full of guys who bought machines and then drove 4hrs to go back and get some things fixed on them. Either way they're expensive. I wish the kubota would go a little faster like the diesel kawasaki does. They also have the smaller tires and wheels, but they are work horses! I'd say test drive something first. Then drive it at the dealer as you plan to drive it, and see what handles and what's smooth. Ease of shifting like you're plowing. There's a guy on youtube called arctic exploring. Him and I chat often, and he's got a cfmoto 500 for four wheeler tht he's constantly plowing snow with in Norway I think. And his is a 2015 or 2018, but wow that thing gets a workout. I feel an 800 is perfect in a side by side, good power for full sized work, but not so much power that is its hard to smoothly engage the belts. As you can tell there were Many things I had to figure out for myself, and a guy gets that "all alone" feeling quickly. Most dealers where I live have cfmoto as their 3rd or 4th brand in a like popularity list. They will become better with age, but it can be a little unnerving.
