Trackday so bignum was on slicks and I was on R888's as I dorve my car there. did 2200 miles there - round - back home with no problems at all. Would have been 7:40 but traffic and accident slowed us down as you'll see.
One thing I love about Simon is the track etiquette. Still manages to put his hand out to the swift driver in case the driver had a brown moment as if to say “you’re alright bud” 🤜🏼🤛🏼 Big respect. Cheers. Muneeb.
Things I learned: Simon's got a big arse The verges are actually part of the track, especially in the Fox Hole You Do treat recovery vehicles with respect You're both mighty quick, without ever appearing to overdrive
2:20 great save!! that dude almost caused an accident because he was driving very slow on a fast section and he didnt kept his car to the right, he stepped on the brake in the MIDDLE of the track there, very dangerous driving...
As a race car driver and Supra owner for 20 years, I can say this: you either know this track super well, or you're a race car driver. Your line was perfect, even a bit better than your partner. Do you race there, or you learned the track on simulators? Btw, this track attracts bunch of idiots. I would never run there during track day.
This is the dream. You did 2200 miles on the ring? Must have been the best thing ever. Insane driving man the rental crossing you guys looked crazy. God bless he managed to dodge him by going offroad with 2 wheels. Another crazy overtake at 10:50. Funny how fast you closed distance and overtook the Cayman GT4 at the end.
Yeah ! Supra chassis are very good one, the only problem when stock, It's Toyota ECU is too much friendly driving, not enough agressive and punchy ! Not enough fast on the straight ! That's why a well modified supra handle amazingly in corners!
Great laps! Makes me want to get my Supra up and running again, not used since '09 trip to the 'Ring when I stripped part of the wiring loom above front wheel with tyres rubbing! Just need a new loom for uk spec manual or a decent auto electrician!! Sounds like you're car has a higher rev limit than mine, where's the limiter set? And what exhaust you running?
Twice a Suzuki swift was on the way and very close ! The second one would be my style too, even if this type of overtaking is a bit dangerous on nurburgring with some people who don't know how to behave correctly!
I would've killed 2 drivers and love watching Porsches and M3s moving over for 2JZ king Kong. awesome footage guys and equally awesome driving skills cheers from Baltimore.
Jenson They would have had to change all the seals & crap by now. Probably lost a few sensors in prepping the car, whether or nit they fully tuned it. 20 year old seals don't usually like chassis flex too much.
I feel the driver of the camera car wanted more power and a slightly firmer rear end, not much because it'd just end up skipping and losing traction over the bumps but it didn't seem like the car was being pushed to its limits, still good to watch and hear.
Very mixed reviews if it's bad for the turbo, I've not run dump valves for over 5 years and only needed a new turbo due to doing pops and bangs. But I'd fit a new turbo every 4 years anyway as technology is always improving, my new turbo is on boost 1,3 thou faster then my old borgwarner, new turbo is also borgwarner.
Sarunas G Yeah man, I used to drive a 2005 Nissan Altima Sport and that 1 gen CVT was a gem on the 2.5L. I could take a charger up to ~120 kph, and older pickups all day through the city. The chassis control was dope, so with ceramics the braking was better & you could FWD drift (powerslide) on demand when it was even slightly slick.
It doesn't have a BOV. It's backpressure on the turbo compressor. The supra guys say you don't need a blow off valve but I don't trust it on cheaper turbos. I call it the sneezing unicorn. =)
