Today I concluded my bullet seating depth testing with the Berger 184gr hybrid bullet. Testing was done at 300 metres at Hornsby Rifle Range on the North Shore of Sydney, NSW. Conditions were mild - 25 degrees Celsius, with mild winds and mild mirage. Sight picture in my first stage was quite decent. The wind direction was predominantly a fishtailing tailwind, which would change condition every 30 seconds or so, keeping you on your toes as it's probably the worst wind to shoot on at Hornsby because the flags don't tell the picture, and the mirage will often run in the opposite direction to the flags. This type of wind will generally cause you to lose shots both on windage, and elevation which is the harder one to pick.
For my first stage I tested a 25 thou jump as this jump had shown the most potential in my load development. Equipment used: Rodzilla T-Rex front rest, Lenzi rear bag, Cerus XR stock, Borden BRMXD action, Cheetah barrel finished at 30", TriggerTech Diamond trigger and a March HM 10-60x56 scope.
I also get heckled a bit in this one...
