I was born with flat feet did the massage exercise, the arch exercise, the big toe lift, and the foot arch for about 10 min and I have results within the first day, I’m going to do the exercises everyday
I have been completely flat footed since I was a child. I remember all of us making a foot print in Kindergarten on a sheet of paper. I noticed straight away the difference between MY footprint and those of my classmates. EVERYONE had a significant arch except for me. My foot print was the WHOLE foot, absolutely NO arch. As an adult I shop for shoes with good arch support (then usually add an insert for good measure.).
Thank you, I think I will have to see a doctor about my flat feet because it’s starting to cause real discomfort and pain. When I take those first few steps when I get out of bed it hurts to bend my foot.
thanks, Dr. Jo. I really appreciate your down-to-earth teaching style. Your non "glamorized" appearance. You are really a beautiful person, inside and out. Don't change! And I am going to follow your exercises to heal my sprained ankle!
I have flat feet and I'm on them for 8 hours on my work days, I feel like I've been wearing heels all day and they are killing me. I lost my balance and fell over a couple times
Thanks doctor Jo I am an Airforce aspirant but i had a flat foot which could drop me out in medical tests, with your help I was able to fix my flat foot. Thankyou
Dr Jo, your exercises are certainly doable and give immediate relief. I had been doing some of them without knowing why, simply because they felt good. Thank you so much!
I'm 19 and I've had fallen arches all my life (born with them). When I was 13, I had physical therapy to prevent pain but now my left foot is really feeling the effects. I need new custom soles for my shoes, but until then, these exercises do just fine. Thank you so much. They really relieve the pressure.
I'm trying to lose weight at 235 now, but my feet are getting in the way. + I work in a hospital. But I felt relief just attempt these exercises. I have insoles made by a professional
Hi, im 18 years old and I have noticed my brother has a higher arched foot than I due to my poor foot development through my childhood. Thankfully I am still growing at this age (later bloomer), whilst doing running over quarantine has helped my foot, I think these exercise will solve the problem of my flat feet. If I correct my foot development I'll get back to you, thanks!
I have flat feet since I was about 10 years old, always had problems like my feet burning while walking and sometimes I had something like temporary paralysis in my feet and legs and I could not walk or stand. My dad took me to few doctors, but they didn´t find anything so he told me I´m just lazy and trying to find ways how to be out of school etc. Today I´m 24 years old and few weeks ago my new doctor told me that I have flat feet, heel spur and scoliosis probably due to flat feet. So after all these years now when I know what is it, I can take care of my feet. Thank you for these treatments, they are helping a lot
My son is going through this he has a lot of feet problems he has a arch, but when he stands he has no arch at all. His podiatrist said it got worse to where he as no arch he recommended better insoles with more support, and physical therapy so we are going to give these a try thanks dr joe.
I had a pretty bad knee injury that I didn’t take care of ( needed surgery had no money :( ) for over a year causing me to not use my legs or feet as much or not at all some days. I recently had the surgery and Im working my way back. My right knee was the issue causing my right foot to become almost completely flat and my left foot is only kinda flat. Thank you for your help! I can barely do the second exercise making a C with my arch so it’s gonna be a fun marathon of a rehab.
I found out my feet where flat when i was at a friends pool party. Everyone else had regular looking wet footprints and my footprint was literally my whole foot.
How often should I be doing these exercises? It seems like doing this workout all the way through would be about 15-25 minutes. Should I be doing this every day?
Ive started to get flat feet this year. I am very insecure about it. But I want to know how long it will take for me to see progress? Also I don’t have those things for my shoes. Is that fine?
It makes sense. The feet still have muscles of course. I've been into body building for years now. It never dawned on me that you need to stretch the tendon in the foot and actually train the foot muscles. i've always felt pain at the bottom of my feet when walking. The tightness from the bottom calf which is also painful from being flatfooted leads my body to be pretty unstable when standing. It's like I'm always about to fall back. I'm gonna do this. Also your video from 6 years ago about the Herniated disc has saved my gym career lol. 3 years post injury and I'm still going strong because of those stretches. Thanks Jo
I have flat feet and because of them I suffer from extensor tendonitis and peroneal tendonitis. it really is the worst thing ever! hopefully these tips help thank u!
Glad I found you! I’m 60, have very flat s10.5 feet, PTTD in r ankle, balls of the feet pain, pin in 2nd toe on left foot.....yeah.... I got issues. Was so excited about those inserts......and they are OUT OF THEM in my size.....
I used to have orthotics for my flat, pronated feet. They helped a little but never did much. Thing is I used to twist my ankle all the time, then I started wearing those shoes that have the toes separated like fingers on a glove. I stopped twisting my ankle. Then I stopped using the orthotics and did alright for a while but had new problems over time. Seems like exercise helps the most (the toe shoes made my foot stronger). So I will be trying these exercises for sure.
OMG!!! IM DOING ALL THESE BY INSTICT SINCE I WAS A CHILD FOR EXAMPLE, INSTEAD OF CHAIR I WAS "HANGING" MY FEET OF THE SIDEWALK CURVE ON MY FEET TOES TO STRECH MY CAMARA (ARCH) OR PRESSING MY CAMARA ON THE CURVE,. ALSO I ALWAYS PLAYING THE TENNIS BALL UNDER MY FOOT
I have been flat-footed site is since I was young and this had been helping a lot... that you so much for the great content these videos where very helpful, keep up the good work
I have got knee alignment issues (knock knees)and patella pain caused by flat feet. What exercises should I do ? And which muscle group should I focus on?
I’m trying to build an arch in my foot, I noticed it’s affecting my knees now and I don’t want it to go to my hips. How often do you recommend doing these excersises and about how long will it take to build an arch in my foot if I do these everyday?
30 times a day don't over do it or push or strain your self , jus take your time, I'm flat foot too and it's really made my back and feet's hurt like crazy and my feet looks weird and bulgy in shoes
You're welcome, and thanks! It really depends on how severe your case is, and if it's something you've always had or if it's something recent from weakness. In general, it could take anywhere from 4-12 weeks.
Hello dear i really impress by you..i herself a student of a DPT,...i usually use you exercise... it's really effective....i wish you may you more success in your field..where are you from???
I think I have flexible flat feet and that it is genetic. It doesn't seem to bother my parents, but it definitely bothers me, which is sad because I love long walks. My favorite shoes are definitely my birkenstocks. I'm trying to strengthen my arches, so thank you for this video!

I have super flat feet (congenitally; my dad also had them), but have good ability to move my feet. Most insoles I dislike because they are too rigid, so I use Sorbothane ones that are cushy without reducing sole flexibility.

My niece is 2 years old and she has flat feet - like almost every child her age. The paediatrician advised my sister that my niece needs to start wearing “special” shoes to help develop that arch. Could any of these exercises work on a child as well? She doesn’t have any pain or discomfort, she runs and plays like any normal child, so I personally don’t think they should force her to wear arch support shoes.
Hi, thank you for this video. I do competitive gymnastics so I don’t wear shoes while I practice and I have very flat pancake feet lol so thank you so much this will definitely help me 😊
im (almost) 14 but my feet started hurting in december 2016 i was diagnosed with flat feet in march of 2018 ever since i have been trying to cure it at home so i hope this works
Hi doctor Jo, I am from india and I am 18 years old and have flat feet since childhood, but it doesn't hurt at all, I can run properly, I also go to the gym and have no problem ( sometimes it just cramps). My feet have good arch (while I am not standing) but flatens when I am. How long would it take to cure (I want to join the Army)? Should I use insloes? If you answer my questions, it would mean a lot to me.😢😞🙁
Unfortunately, I don't know how long it would take since everyone is different. If you've always had flat feet, insoles might help, but since I can't evaluate you, I really don't know. You can do these 1-2 times a day. Good luck.
Ive been dealing with top of the foot extensor pain from things like popping and i did the wet paper towel test and in general get arch pain sometimes so it seems i have some flat foot, im an artist so im.not on my feet a ton so overuse or injury were not possible causes for it, i read flat foot can cause these issues since ive been having these pains for about a week. Ill definetly be doing these!
Your videos are always very important. Question when doing the arch raise do you sometimes feel That muscle along the outside of your lower leg above the ankle, gets fatigued as well?
Thanks. It should be felt mostly at the arch, but those outer muscles do provide stability to the ankle, so they might be firing as well if the arch is weak.
I have seen this video just a moment, i have flat feet, i feel pain when i wake up after sleep and long sit down....how to solve my problem doctor...thank you 🙏🌹
Doc, my family doesn't have a flat feet, only me, and i don't know if i'm born with flat feet or not, should i do this exercise? Please respond, Thanks...
I was born with flat foot now I have severe flat foot and with xray done recently my foot/bone looks like an s which throws my body out of alignment. I hope this can help me.
My husband has been wearing custom leather arch supports since 1996; they were life changing for him. I'm calling my Rheumatologist for a prescription this week! Can't wait to see if I get the same relief as he has. Good luck!
I am born with flat foot, when I do exercises for calf muscles and when jump from a little height can cause me a pain in the centre where the arch's place. Is there any treatment for cure flat foot? Is it cure completely??

Hi Doctor Jo, I am noticing that my left foot arch is slowly collapsing. My foot is turned out and I am walking with my feet turned out until now. How long should I do these exercises to correct the arch problem in my left foot ? I don't want to do surgery because it can be very painful. Please advice me Dr Jo.
i a flat footed person since birth, and now in my late 20s, will exercising for my flat foot help me? Recently I am having a tremendous pain in the arc area of my right feet(which is completely flat) and also pain in my hip and back. :(
It sounds like your closed captions got turned on. You can easily turn them off by clicking the "CC" button at the bottom of the video. If you want to leave them on, you can drag them to another area on the screen, or you can make them transparent. You can even automatically translate them into many different languages. I show how to do all this and more here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VatNBZh66Po.html
My left foot sucks. My toes on that foot shake when doing the towel crunches and I can’t do the windshield wipers with it either. I’ll have to practice with that foot more
I never comment on any video on you tube but this is for my fitness I was not born with flat foot . Due to 4 to 5 fractures in feet muscles came out due to which it looks flat But I am trying my best to make it normal
I used to walk on tip toes when I was little, and now I have a lot of pain on my feet, had a lot of trouble because I grew up taller and faster than most kids my age (5'10) and anything trying to fix my arch is painful, is it necessary to have corrective surgery?
Hey ,, thanks for such important information.. i 've a question that how long it would take to cure the flat feet as i am 23 yrs old n born flat feet.. PLS REPLY
Mam i am 14 years old boy and i have flat feet.when i was younger i didn't used to pain but now the sides of mt feet pains a lot. The pain has now reached to my knees and lower back as well. Doctor has told me to wear soles in my shoes. It reduces my pain but mt feet are still flat. Please give me advices. Nowadays by back pain had become worse.
Good evening Dr Jo. Will this help to treat knee joint problems? Because at the moment, I have a knee issue, which I can't really bend it or straighten it much. Please advise. Thanks.
Dr Jo, I’d like your opinion on my situation! If my feet pronate a lot and my knees go in, is exercising without shoes detrimental? I do a lot of yoga and qigong without shoes but have noticed a lot of shin and knee pain lately. Could the bare feet be worsening it? It feels odd to wear shoes with yoga but wanted to check if its a good idea to get some kind of arch supported shoes
hi doctor Jo, thank you for this video it's easy to follow and I hope it will help me. I have flat feet and I think my left one overpronates. I went to the doctor because of left foot and knee problems and she said it is because I have dorsolumbar scoliosis can it be the other way around? (the overpronation is causing the scoliosis?) how can you tell the difference and will exercises vary?
I do feel like I put more pressure on my left foot particularly the ball and the inside part of the foot but not to the degree that it is noticeable when I walk and I don't wear shoe inserts. Actually I was shocked when I was told I have scoliosis as it is not noticeable at all. thank you for replying.
I want to know flat feet is a common problem or not?. I have flat foot and some time I feel pain in down side foot so request to you can you suggest any further precautions or something else that can be helpful to me?.
