Dude don’t sweat the comments, no one is perfect and honestly everything in some way shape or form is carcinogenic or bad for you in high amounts. A few sips in the hammock with a good book sounds fantastic on a cold camp night

Yeah, youtube comments are not to be taken seriously. I imagine most of the negative ones just have no joy in their lives, so they look to bring others down with them. I guess, I really don't know. This dude is nothing but cool and genuine. Why anyone would be so offended by any of his stuff is asinine lol

Nothing wrong with enjoying a little scotch Jon. I'm from Wisconsin where drinking is practically an olympic sport. The way you partake is done responsibly and I think totally appropriate. I always bring a few ounces of whiskey along when I head out into the wilderness. There's nothing quite like being alone in the peace and quiet of nature and having a little sip of the old fire water! Cheers buddy!

John, I know exactly how you feel about the "wunderlust" when one is in the bush. In my 70's now, I long ago came to a point where the fishing didn't matter any more and just being there in the solitude means more than anything. While my legs and knees no longer allow me the luxury of long exploration trips on foot and I won't use an ATV, when people ask me why I still go for my 3 weeks every summer, my answer is just like Sir Edmund Hillary's was when they asked him why he climbed Everest. "Why because it's there ."

Your attention to detail is exquisite, the toad, the birds, the colors, the river, drone shots that really give us a scope of the adventure, the melodrama with the chips with Enya (?) mournfully singing, hahahaha. As for the chip addiction, I read a book (Cold Beer and Crocodiles) about a guy who cycled around Australia. What saved him from depletion at the beginning was salty chips. I love this channel - it makes me calm and hopeful. Thank-you 🙂

This trip was visually splendid. Your photography is just over the top good. Thanks for taking time. I feel like I’m there to smell the decaying leaves, the dampness in the air and the boggy backwaters. I would defend your use of alcohol in moderation. Consumption of alcohol up to 1 ounce per day is considered good for the body. It’s something doctors know, but can never recommend to their patients. Too many people have no self-control and push on to abuse. Late in this trip you had a drone shot of a small, nearly dried up pond, which showed a perfect aerial example of how beavers terraform the woods into meadows. They are remarkable animals. This was one of the better trips, reminding me of the many canoe and backpacking trips, I took in the fall. In Oregon where I did most of my camping I always enjoyed the full moon in September or early October. I prefer the week lead up to the full moon when it is rising early and serves as a wonderful nightlight. Thanks for bringing me along - I had a fine time. And by the way, I would’ve eaten those chips on the first night, so kudos to you from Dave Purkerson!

It was stupid warm here today.. grass is greening.. getting pumped to get out camping before long. this is helping fill that void.. as always just as good as the first time, maybe even better..

Just watched this on the big screen 78 inches....so beautiful this trip. And have to compliment you on your videography...its always great but this one was especially well done with the drone footage. I was wondering how your injury worked out for you. Glad to see you didn't suffer permanent damage. I read a lot of Farley Mowat's books as well and they do fit right in with your adventures. Don't know how long you take to edit but you must be a hubby by now. Congrats. Many happy adventures to you both!!! Ps been watching your videos for a long time now....haven't seen them ALL but certainly the majority. GREAT STUFF.

Stunning trip, so happy you got to experience the beautiful fall scenery on such a wonderful lake. Those shots of the last morning were angelic, truly. Thank you for sharing this with us. Can't wait to see more, especially winter trips 💕

What an adventure! I loved doing these kind of explorations in my youth (long gone). Now I'm happy to do a bit of canoe camping here in the Adirondacks. I really enjoyed the "zen" moments of you staring at the chips. Great will power!

Wonderful as always. And there's nothing wrong with the occasional libation.

The fishing is part of why I started watching your vids, interesting to hear that's a big part of what originally motivated you. Cheers!
