I stumbled onto lost lakes last fall, as way to get away from working in the ICU after traveling to CA had been closed so long. I became quickly addicted thereafter. His videos are really films so artfully shot and such incredible scenery and, wildlife, fishing, night-sky's, Nlights etc. It's hard to beat Jon's ability to capture N.Ont's beauty.

If you're nuts then I guess I am too, love these videos........I'm recently retired, turn 60 next month, and will be able to spend more time in my canoe and doing some tripping as well, just not real remote like Budnik and John, but tripping none the less. My canoe is a Old Town Discovery 169, so portaging is not something I'll be able to really do with the shoulder issues I have.

You know how to just talk enough, but not too much to the point I’m already on to the next video in my scroll feed. You can tell when people do this for the views, and those who do it for the love of doing it. Whatever it is that’s being done, you’re there; in the moment. You captivated that here perfectly. I’m in my 60’s now. Bad back, bad shoulder-but when younger I spent 15 years traversing the BWCA and the Quetico throughout all areas of the parks, with kids, spouse, groups, and many solos. I think I'm in the same boat as you, Wally. While not so lucky to be in BWCA vicinity. I have been fortunate to paddle a few of the rivers in N. central ONT and loved every minute. Watching his trips so makes me want to get out there and do it again. Now that I'm semi retired, I think I'm ready to trade in my FourWinns for a nice 17 royalex and go back to these last areas of pristine wilderness.

Jon, you are a brilliant cinematographer and narrator. I see that attitude of gratitude in every video and it’s contagious. My canoe gear is packed away for the winter but your videos will keep me daydreaming and planning for next year. Thank you.

@LostLakes We are loving the new format. Love the wild life videography. Especially the attention to the smaller specimens. Please don’t stumble again carrying you canoe. Heart in mouth moment. Jon when you drank the unfiltered water whilst out in your canoe, I thought about what we do caravanning around Australia. And the idea originally came from your channel. It’s the LifeStraw but mounted in a drink bottle. Much more practical that the original LifeStraw you showed on one or your eps. All the best. Hope you recovery continues well. No commercial affiliation with LifeStraw.

My name is Leah… I’m a Lost Lake-aholic 😵‍💫 Your videos are absolutely incredible. Please keep ‘em coming! You should take snapshots, or stills, of some of that beautiful scenery and sell the digitals. I loved the way you had the tip of the canoe facing that absolutely amazing tree line! What a shot that would be! Imagine that on a metal print! Just sayin’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

One word for those Northern lights, Majestic! Damn I wish you took that Antler home so beautiful. Is it normal to feel choked up, especially when I saw the Moose appear.

The drone footage of you carrying your canoe was something! Don’t know how you did that but you have become a master of the drone!

Hey man! Been watching your videos for a while now, and ive dropped a couple comments here and there to make suggestions. Im so impressed with your ability to capture the soul of our region in northern ontario so well. If you are ever looking for a good adventure this winter you are always welcome here in northeastern ontario. Spanish forest would fit your channel perfectly. One of the oldest red and white pine forests in the entire world. Cheers!

Your cinemetography is astounding, reminding all Ontarians these amazing landscapes are in our own north yard.

Finally a new solo adventure! Nice to hear "checkmate" again! I became a bit addicted to the song when it was included in one of your previous productions.

Wow, it’s awesome to see you well and in your happy place! You have been through so much since February, it saddens me to know horrible it must have been. Years ago I had a “Locked Knee”. On crutches for six months. Tried everything and everyone. Then one AM while brushing my teeth, BOOB, this pop, and it was unlocked. Simply a miserable six months! I’m so glad you are well again!!
