Guatemala 🇬🇹 is a MUST IF you want to visit a beautiful country with more than 3000 years of history, culture, traditions and gastronomy. And their people will make you feel like you're one of them. They're super attentive, caring and warm.
@@p__jay noooooobody cares. That’s the beauty of traveling. You find out nobody actually fucking cares, and people typically understand we aren’t all native speakers of their language.
I appreciate Drew going to Guate, but how many times has he heard the correct pronunciation of 'mercado' and 'Atitlan'. How hard is it to remember how to pronounce it?
Guatemala is absolutely underrated! We loved it! And 7 days is not nearly enough time to explore this amazing country. You missed out on an epic experience by not hiking the Acatenango volcano. Sleeping on the volcano and watching Fuego erupt during the night is something we will never forget. If you plan to go back to Antigua, just have it in mind :) Also, the northern part of Guatemala with Tikal is also very cool to experience. We went there during the pandemic and had the place almost to ourselves. Restrictions are in place, but they are fully acceptable we think.
@Barbara Konchinski We won't lie, its a tough hike for sure! But if you are acclimated to the heights most people should be able to do it. And the reward for getting up there is epic!
@@suciomicerable If you drop over to our channel, we actually have a pretty detailed episode on our hike up the Acatenango. We went with a tour operator and they provided all the equipment needed. We each had to carry a small part of a tent, but 3 people slept in each tent. The hike began in the morning and we reached 'base camp' in the afternoon. There was good time to relax a bit before sunset. Have a great trip, we hope the weather is with you! :)
So true. Is so rich and beautiful the United Kingdom of Guatemala established since 1609 and that extends from El Soconusco (today Chiapas) to part of Panama. Guatemala is 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources too bad for almost a century big foreign multinational corporations have been taking almost everything for more than a century. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. Guatemala exploited and sabotaged for almost a century but never gives up. God bless
Appreciate your visit to my country Guatemala 🇬🇹 I’m Guatemalan I live in Chicago for 30 years my family lives in the city of Guatemala and you are welcome as well thank you for visiting 🇬🇹🇬🇹🙏🏻🙏🏻

You are right thank you for saying that! Guatemala has some restrictions but it’s still totally worth it to visit! I think that people that are traveling during COVID-19 season are fine with some restrictions in the places that they visit 😀🇬🇹

I just love those cone shaped volcanoes - I would love to try one of those volcano flavored marshmallows! The traditional clothes are so colorful. I have yet to visit Guatemala but I see that it is worth going
I don't remember the exact names. The ATV tour was based in Antigua, and the paragliding with based in Panajachel. The person who ran it was a guy by the name of Christian. Sorry I don't have more info on it.

thx for visiting our country - it truly is a beautiful country and the $$ from tourists really helps. You heard the people say 'mercado' and 'Atitlan' correctly - is it that hard for you to pronounce it correctly? again, thx for visiting

Very informative video! Thank you for sharing this with us. What bag are you using for travels? Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane.

When I have been in Guatemala I have never been sick of eating or drinking water; fast food like McDonald's and Burger King makes me so sick. Guatemala is so beautiful, rich, unique and magical. I am dying to visit Guatemala again
7 days is not a good advise to visit Guatemala...... I guess your video will be ending well just with the message 7 days will make you stay more.. Tobe there at list you need a month
Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ
@@pattylopez5356 you'r an awesome person, focusing on the positive things, good girl. So now to the pronunciation of 'mercado': it funny enough still sucks. Great video though :)
