How to grow your natural type 4 hair in ONE YEAR. Easy tips you can implement today!
From October 2019 to December 2020 I managed to grow and retain a significant amount of length to my 4c hair. I’d like to share 7 easy ways you can grow your hair too.
Hair growth isn’t rocket science. If you are healthy and maintain healthy hair habits, with consistency, your hair could be growing inches in no time. The key is a combination of nutrition and routine. If you maintain a healthy diet and low manipulation routine, your hair will grow and retain length in no time!

I oil and massage my scalp daily already but I love that you mentioned health first!!!! I used to stress and not take care of myself before 2018. Good video. I agree with the wash n go theory. I have 4C hair and once I mastered wash n goes I started retaining more length and moisture. The wash n go also allowed be to be okay with having short hair. My wash n go last me 1 week, so I wash my hair once a week.

I went natural about 8 years ago( had hella set backs😳😔🙄). Took me last year during quarantine to listen to my hair and realize I have a scalp condition. Like hella flakes, but not dandruff ( so I was told) medium sized scabs almost. Certain products made me flair up, too much product build up made my low porosity behind itch!too little product was a problem too🙄. My point in all this is to say thank you! Once I finally got the bad strands out of my head through a couple years of hard and soft trims, I was able to wear a wash and go longer. and my hair is thriving I didn't realize how much the health of my strands were affecting my styles. (I had more "mid-splits" than I knew) I used to HAVE to do twist outs, because wash and gos would end up knotted after just a day or two. Now I can go with it for longer (with EVERY day including some addition of moisture in the form of water or aloe vera juice from a spray bottle, or just a quick rinse in the shower to remove some shed hairs). I'm loving this life. I'm on my way to length!!!!

Great suggestions. I have always enjoyed your videos and this one is no exception. However, a word of caution to all my natural sisters regarding the wash and go. Underneath all that beautiful hair is a box that contains very delicate structures like our brain and blood vessels that can tear and bleed. If we all shake our heads like that some of us are going to end up on the operating table with a brain bleed and having a scar where hair should be growing from. I think there must be another way to achieve that look while still taking care of our brains. Much love.

I don't know about that so far in 2021 we've had an Insurrection at the capital, deaths, still struggling with the Coronavirus, and impeachment, a new Administration , and the hope for a conviction and we we're barely out of January. I wouldn't blame her if she tried to push this right on into 2022 in hopes of better times.

Its the same for me, I spend way too much time on my washday and the thought of washing it every week feels a bit overwhelming lol (I wash every 2 weeks) there has to be a "quicker" easier way for washday without damaging or mistreating her too much❤

Awww. You and your husband are such a cute couple.😍I like how you had him measure your hair. I love that shade of red on your lips. Oh..$38 for that lipstick💋? I will never be able to get as pretty as you!😂
@LaToyaEbonyHair
@LaToyaEbonyHair 3 года назад
Yeah, that lipstick is a good staple, but not necessary. I used to work for Sephora, so I’ve picked out all the things I’ll still spend money on. It’s a good buildable red, but there are others I’m sure....also, you’re right. You’ll never look like me, BUT as pretty? 🤔 That’s subjective. I think you’re equally as beautiful. I don’t have to see you to know. Beauty is so manipulated by the media anyway. Outside of science and symmetry, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.

Yes! I deal with them whether I do stretched styles or wash and gos. Tbh I stopped paying attention to them after my second year being natural. 🤷🏾‍♀️ They’re inevitable, so I don’t sweat it.

The head and shoulders royal oils worries me. It didn’t work for me but I think it’s because it’s full of oils which feeds fungus and dandruff. Also, spaghetti noodles is a good analogy for moisturized hair or overly strengthened hair 😊
@LaToyaEbonyHair
@LaToyaEbonyHair 3 года назад
With both Royal Oils and Nizoral I have to wash every two days at least 3 times to clear my scalp. But that’s a great point about the oils in the Head and Shoulders!

Both are inevitable. Stretched styles can help minimize them. As for the single strand knots, try not to obsess over them unless they become unbearable and you know you need a trim.

@LaToyaEbonyHair
@LaToyaEbonyHair 3 года назад
You just may need a trim. That’s what I do when my ends feel rough no matter what. Look at them closely. There may be damage OR they are higher porosity and you need to seal your ends with something heavier like a butter.
@mokahgirl5165
@mokahgirl5165 3 года назад
Trimming is good and sealing with flax seed gel..a little goes along way though. Also I think it's the Mane choice line has a product just for our ends. Its kinda. Pricey but keeps your ends lubricated. It's a real small bottle and sometimes hard to find.

I can't do a wash and go every week( spray bottle and using oil) and protective style. I've been loving argan, joboja, sweet almond and black castor oil. I wear protective style and leave it alone. Before I put in braids I was so shocked at how healthy my hair was. I hadn't washed it in a month(oil and water in twists)

On your thumbnail it says 1 year of growth. However, in your video, showing the same two pics from your thumbnail, it is 2 years and 2 months of growth. And after watching the whole video, I see that you retained no more length than the average person. So what is the point of this video truly? Are you really trying to help people and educate people or misleading people into believing that you know something about growing long hair “fast” that all these other women on RU-vid with a lot longer hair than you don’t know. Also, why are you (and many others on RU-vid) making the natural hair journey all about length. Being natural or going natural is about being chemical free. Not everyone wants to grow or wear their hair long. Furthermore, having healthy hair is way more important than having long hair.
@LaToyaEbonyHair

Yeah, I had a typo. That what people are commenting on. My timeline is October 2019 to December 2020 (we’re not in December 2021 yet). I think that’s the photo you’re talking about. My hair grows at a normal rate and I’m able to retain a good amount of it. No gimmicks...Also, health is literally the first point I made. Not just hair health, body health. My goal has always been health and now that I have healthy hair, my goal is length. Nothing wrong with that. Anyway, thanks for dropping by.
