Found out yesterday I’ve been accepted for a job onboard with P&O UK! Absolutely couldn’t have done it with without you and your vids, Lucy - thanks so much and congratulations on your new role too! 😍😍
Firstly, Lucy, I want to say how happy your content makes me! Ever since 2021, after I had fallen out of love with the flight attendant dream, cruising has been the dream! I’ll be applying right after my brother’s wedding in October, and I will be using most of the resources you talk about! Again, I am truly thrilled by your videos, and I have every faith in myself thanks to you! (Also, my sympathies for the straightener and my middle school era username 😅)
So true be prepared for your interview. I’ve just gotten a promotion because I prepared for it I had notes with me and asked if it was ok to refer to them. They said yes of course and seemed impressed that I had taken the time to prepare it showed I wanted the job. When in an interview your mind can go blank a few key notes just click your mind back on.
Lucy, you look happy and excited with your new adventure and I'm glad that your training is going well! Thanks for sharing and giving everyone these great tips (especially "interviewing" and "money management") And, BTW, to everyone else here, Lucy's Career Guides are GREAT! (the "tech" one that I downloaded was super....and, did it just for fun ---- 'cuz I work in tech / communications) Take care, stay cool, and have fun sweetie! 😀 P.S. I'm not sure I believe that you're not good in an interview....hmmm? 😀
Out oft all the cruiselines, the first thing that Pops up in your head is MSC? 😅 After all I‘ve heard about them I can‘t Even Imagine that thats someones first Choice. I had a fantastic recruiter and I also started in a lower position which was good because the job on the ship is a little different than the job at home 😊 Starting my second contract on Thursday 🎉 Have a great time in training and on the new ship 😊
New to the channel! I’ve always wanted to work on a cruise ship, I’m going to start going through your videos and hopefully land my first cruise line job! Is there any videos you highly recommend I watch to give my self a good chance? Thank you 🫶🏼
Thanks for all the tips! I wanted to ask if Virgin Voyages have a specific agency for their hospitality department? I would love to apply for their front desk staff! I've tried to apply through VV website but I never hear back. Any help is appreciated xxx
Are there any advice for NCL? I got accepted for their POA cruise after going to an information session and having an interview right there but I can't seem to find much information on people working on NCL and what their experience has been. Thank you for these tips, Lucy!
Anyone who has applied for security positions, what recommendations can you give me, in which companies? I have worked in security for many years but I think it is necessary to start from the bottom on a cruise ship to gain experience on board.
Abdulla, congratulations and good luck! (fyi, Lucy reminds everyone that while it can take a few months, it is good to stay in touch with them, or agency, every 3 - 4 weeks, just so your application process is still moving along)
I got an official job offer from NCL and am still waiting on more information for the pre-employment and starting process as well. I have been trying to figure out if this is normal.
do you have to have experience working in 5 star hotel at least 6 months or 1-2 years as requirements to apply for waitress job in cruise ship ? If not, is there any opportunity that I can apply for?
@@frederikalinden2128 Actually I deleted it out of politeness to you, and to not cause confusion. (I'm way way past being embarrassed by something I write on-line) 😀 My apologies to you Frederika, if I offended you. Please take care and Fair Winds!
@@captainjohn49 Out of politeness to me??? Lol Why so? U don't have to be polite towards me. However, you are definitley not way past simping for way younger girls online. Shape yourself up, mate, might cost you your career.
American cruise lines are much more socially conservative than European or British lines. So if she is working for the Yanks, she can't have as much personal style.
