Lucy we love you and your channel. Life naturally has changes and ups and downs. Don’t worry about your change in schedule… needs must! And you have to put your job first. We will be here supporting you regardless. Xxx
It would be really great if you could talk a bit about sea sickness. How choppy does it have to get to affect you? Do some people get it even in calm waters? Etc. It's the one thing that concerns me about working on a cruise ship
I'll watch whatever you post, and whenever you post it. I'm not a cruise ship employee, or potential. I just like your videos. I watch alot of flight attendant videos mostly. I just think your lifestyle is interesting. I'm from Pennsylvania. Near Philly.
I recently been hired by Harding and start in October. I've been learning so much from watching all your videos. Thank you for all the tips and info. 💖
The shoe hanger is a great hint for passengers as well. Whether it is essential or not depends on the line but I use it for all sorts of things--sunscreen, cosmetics bag, hairbrush, etc. It keeps the desk and bathroom counter MUCH more organized.
Sorry you are having to slow down the uploads, but totally understandable. Enjoy the new job as best you can Lucy, you do a great job with your channel.
Yet another great video with advice for crew member. I'm also glad you are allowed to let us know you work for DCL now. One think you may want to talk about in a future video is where to hang the shoe hanger. I've seen several cruise vlogs state the guests are not allowed to bring shoe hangers as they would prevent the doors to the cabin from closing properly. I presume a crew member would put one on their side of the bathroom door or may be a closet door?
Glad to hear your still enjoying your new job Lucy! At the end of the day you need time for “you” in your very busy schedule- trust me I work in a hotel on land and we are thankfully very busy😀 so your down time ( and i don’t mean time your needing to sleep ) is virtual.! All the best as you continue to fund your feet in the new role, David Young Brisbane Australia
Steel decks. They don't give. So good shoes is a big plus. Same if you work in retail and have to stand on cement floors all day. So you moved up and have more work. Sounds right. But don't give up the videos. They are great.
I will be starting with Harding very soon I have uploaded all my documents and waiting for my first assignment. You have been very helpful with your videos. Thank you very much.
Wow congratulation.....I HV received an email from them I do a self recorded introductory how did you go about it kindly am preparing on mine and am nervous not to know what to expect how did you do yours kindly
Lucy's current job on-board (port/shopping ambassador) takes a great deal of her time, as well as her having limited internet/wi-fi speeds, so she might not be able to address all of your questions in detail, over again. :) (she has made videos answering these queries before) In a nutshell...she started working on-board (in the spa) in spring of 2015, and after a couple contracts took some time off (a year or so, working on shore) before going back on-board, but then working in the retail shops on-board for a couple contracts on one cruise line, and then a few contracts on another cruise line....now transferring to another cruise line in mid-2023, for a new on-board job as a port/shopping ambassador. She has made videos (and has written on her website and blog) addressing her original reasons for applying to work on cruise ships (to travel/see the world, meet/learn from people of different cultures/countries, as well as not spend money doing these things). She has also talked about why she continues to work on-board (the adventures, experiences, friendships, as well as most importantly grow as a human being and live an adventurous life). If you watch her videos and read her website/blogs, you'll see all the details and hear her exuberance! 😀 I hope this helps answer your questions?
Tammy, if you have a look at even these few of Lucy's almost 400 videos, you'll see quite a bit of the details. "Cruise ship employee Q&A- Who am I?", "Q&A about my life living and working on cruise ships, and everything in-between.", "Working on CRUISE SHIPS is the best decision I ever made!", "You need to work on cruise ships and this is why!" I hope this helps? Fair winds! :)
I'll be glad when you move on to another cruise line one day and we can see you blog!! This is interesting but not really what I want to see of you!! I don't like the sound of the cruise line your working for this time around! At all! They are weird!!
I'm Shahin Currently I work in electronics manager experience 6 years. Flambar and cooking supervisor experience 4 years. Can I work in your ship with my experience? I can do other things.
