Has less to do with himself and more to do with a certain group of players retiring from Spain (Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso, Silva, Fabregas). There simply was no space for Cazorla in Spain's first XI between 2008 and 2016.
@@minnumseerrund Silva often played on the wing, but yea didnt play all. Btw in 2008 Marcos Senna was a starter in that midfield as well. And then there was Mata as a sub, who was generally rated above Cazorla.
Some time ago, I made a video on Junior Messias' story, and his story is an incredible one. From a delivery boy at 25, to scoring in Champions League for Milan, to being a Serie at 30. Brilliant video, as always ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
Junior deserved all the money he is getting now. Imagine a boy from brazil that failed to get a contract most would have been depressed and might have join gangs or any other brazillian mafias but he went to italy even without a visa and made it work.
Day 24 - The Fall and Rise of FK Velež Mostar From a Club that has beaten Borussia Dortmund, Twente, Derby County and many others to a club that was forced from their own stadium, reduced to nothing during the Bosnian War, becoming a mediocre top-level team in the 00s to nearly being forced into folding in 2016 to its amazing comeback to European competitions in 2021 seeing the early exit of Greek giants AEK Athens in a sensational win in Athens!
Thank you for including Redmayne. As an Australian, it's great to see us get a mention in your videos every once in a while. As a Wanderers fan, when he swapped clubs to our arch rivals Sydney FC, I thought at the time we were the real winners. Hindsight is a funny thing. The GK we did the swap deal with - Vedran Janjetović - has just been released by the Wanderers and hasn't played a game in years. I thought Redmayne being picked in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers was a bit of a joke, however. He wasn't even the best GK in the A-League season just gone. Hats off to him though, he proved everyone wrong. Once of the best redemption arcs I've seen in sport.
a documentary on the afc Wimbledon on the nine promotions in eleven years, how they’re a fan own club and how they have a stadium in plough lane now. The story of they lost the club, how the F A allowed that and won’t allow that anymore. How they were very close to moving to ireland How they went up the English football leagues. It would be a good documentary video if you can do this. #thepeopleschannel
It was mentioned in passing but the career of Don Revie would be video worthy. Between remaking Leeds United, a variety of superstitions, falling out with the last players of the 1966 World Cup and responding to a failure to qualify for the 1978 World Cup by walking out on England to take the job as manager of the United Arab Emirates, it was quite something
A detailed look at the state of Crotone would be nice, going from Serie A in 20/21 with a 20 goal a season striker to Serie C by 22/23. Two relegations in a row, something surely has to be wrong at that club.
'He was indicted in a match-fixing scandal which rocked the Italian game' - why would match-fixing rock the Italian game? The Italian game is built on it...
And just a few moments ago(on the day this video went up) Messias just signed for Milan properly, for a 4 million € fee.... as a Milan fan I can say I am delighted to have this man at my club, what a hero❤️🖤❤️🖤
Was great to see some Aussie representation with Andrew Redmayne. Can say that there were many Australians who thought we were doomed when the sub was made. Saved under fire Graham Arnold's job, whether or not one decision to make the sub should is another matter.
If ever there was a downer of a video to compliment the uplifting nature of this one, "7 footballing fairytails that fell with the last hurdle" could be interesting (I'm thinking England loosing to Italy on penalties but there are undoubtably more interesting tales you may regale us with)
It would be a great one to look into.. like Bayer Leverkusen in 01/02.. chance to do the treble, lost on the final day, lost in the final of the cup, and lost in the final of the CL too! Also, very very good of you to mention his brilliant consistency!
Middlesbrough getting to the final of the UEFA cup, beating the likes of Lazio and Roma and a couple of last gasp winners only to get absolutely battered 4-0 against Sevilla in the final.
You are forgiven! Forgiven for all those times you put Andy F'ing Robertson on a pedestal. Peter Reid was a brilliant player, great manager and wonderful human being.
Troy Deeney should be on here due to his arrest and time in jail to going onto become a Watford legend, helping get them into the premier league and FA Cup final, as well as scoring one of the most iconic goals in recent memory
As a Polish person I feel personally offended that you pronounced Cazorla Spanishly yet Wojciech Szczęsny was made into Łojcziech Czezni or whatever it is you called him
I would also like to add Louis van Gaal to this list. Failed to qualify for the WC 2002 with a golden generation of players including: Van Der Sar, Stam, Seedorf, Davids, Bergkamp, Overmars, Van Nistelrooy, Kluivert, among others. In 2014 he managed to finish 3rd with a very mediocre Dutch team.
Completely butchered Santi's name 😂. His name is Cazorla, pronounced Ca-TH- or-la not Car-th-oh-la. I have no idea why English people always misplace the R in his name. It's right there in the spelling. Listen to Balague pronounce it.
Day 52: Considering that the last player who played in the miracle of Bern died about 7 months ago, I would really like to see a video about the whole story between Germany and Hungary, especially because it meant so much to at least the German population
Native Spanish speaker here, the "z" in Spanish is a letter with an official pronunciation closely resembling what you were doing, however that pronunciation is rarely used in Latin America, as we often don't differentiate between the s, z, and soft c in spoken Spanish, so the English pronunciation of cazorla outside of the softer r isn't that far off from the pronunciation used in countries from Latin America
Can you do the rise of Middlesbrough after nearly falling into Liquidation in 1986 before winning the Carling Cup and reaching the Europea League final
Ironic as I seem to remember watching the Wanderers on New Years Day 1979 against Everton and where Reidy suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out for over a year, once back and performing again, Everton signed him.
Paolo Rossi is indeed a gem of an inclusion! Unfortunately, right after the World Cup triumph in 1982 (which is approaching its 40th anniversary, by the way) he was struck by injuries and declined pretty quickly, but still, his story is one of the best ones Italian football could ever offer, hands down.
As a Gooner, Carzola's injuries were the biggest bummer in the time I followed them. Even worse than the Ozil saga, IMO, cuz it was just random shittiness happening to a good playr who always gave his all
Re: Santi Cazorla, you would probably have a better time pronouncing his name if you double check the spelling - I think you have the R in the wrong place 😄. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
Let's get the redmayne thing straight, firstly it was one save and a missed shot that hit and upright and should have been retaken as redmayne was off his line. Secondly the only reason he is in the squad and has gotten any caps is coz his form club boss is now boss of the national team and the fact redmayne is selected and also we had to go to the play-offs shows how shite he is, the fact he bought redmayne on wasn't even his idea it was something he picked up from guus hiddink when he was his assistant in 2005 for the national team. Back to redmayne even now after his "heroics" as many if not more aussie fans still don't rate and/orike the guy (well at least in my circle of football friends/associates etc)
No dog in the fight, but I thought Redmayne's antics were beyond the pale and have no business at this level of football. And the save was your basic "guessed right and smothered a poorly taken PK."
do footballs most surprising flops example: dele alli, he had the world at his feet but just feel flat on his face(don’t use that one and footballers who over achieved their potential players who had potential to be ight players but became world class my mind is blank 😭 🤣
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 348) I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored. If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
Lord Origi could also be a good shout.... Before that 2019 UCL szn, if someone said to me that ac milan and other top clubs are trying to sign origi, I would have died of laughter. Now he is replacing Zlatan in AC Milan who just won scudetto
mate good video but both of your pronunciations of Cazorla were still incorrect lol...never understood why so many people read his name as Car-Zola, it's Ca-Zor-La or Ca-Thor-La if you wanna be authentic
@@mastilozdravljedamjanovic if he deserves to be included, say, when he gets back to his old form and is important to Real Madrid and/or Belgium in the next few years, why shouldn't he?
8:20 There's no national 7th tier of Brazilian football, we only have 4 national divisions and the state championships, i'm quite curious to understand what you meant by that
