You don't have to put the item in a specific slot in your inventory. On the square where you put the item for the turn in, just right-click to bring up the turn in item and left click to place it into the window. Then spam your confirm button until the item box pops up again and right click again. I do this every week for custom delivery turn ins.
If you have only one page open in your inventory at the time it is always the first slot of your currently open page. If you use expanded inventory it is the first slot on the right side but it can again be on page 1 or page 2 depending what you have opened last. I use this so I can just spam the confirm wihtout need to click anything ^^
If your keyboard has a number pad, then by default a lot of handy controller functions are bound there already. Number pad arrows are the d-pad (for moving the UI cursor or selecting targets), 0 is confirm, + is sub command menu (and suitable items for turn in), etc. These buttons can be very helpful for repetitive UI stuffs like bulk turn ins, gardening, etc. They make these tasks into a short pattern of button presses that is easier to spam vs flailing the mouse around.
@@xaviercardoso2219 The big issue is depending on when you joined the game. When I first started on my main there weren't aetheryte tickets to Vesper Bay, and so I never got them. So anyone who's just like "Use the tickets!" I always replied with "What tickets?" I didn't know they'd added that in until I started through ARR again with my brother and some friends and we finally got to Vesper Bay and they gave us like 12 tickets to TP straight there. I was like "Oh this is WAY better than it used to be!" and had to explain to my group what I was talking about.
@@MissLilianae Yeah I think they were added I think in 5.3, so anyone who joined before the tail end of Shadowbringer's updates would have had to do things the harder ways.
@@FrogworfKnight Yeah, I jumped into ARR right as 5.2 dropped. I think I was either finishing up ARR if not already into HW by the time 5.3 released, so I was definitely not getting those tickets XD I do wonder if there's a vendor you can buy them from or something?
"Confirm" is good for a lot more than simply handing in levequests. I use it as my main way to talk to NPCs, advance dialogues, interact with objects, grab treasure chests, mash the button to quickly hand in all my unneeded gear for GC Expert Delivery, etc.
Ok, when you add more stuff you want to do when syncing level, this macro makes sense. I was wondering why to use a macro (which takes up another slot on the hotbars) when the button does the same.
The /levelsync macro can be tied with a macro that lets you quick mount and ride any of the seats in a mount from your party members without having to click on them and then clicking on ride. This is the one that I use it's 13/15 so you can probably add two tank stances at the very bottom so you can levelsync and pop tank stance at the start: /micon "Mount Roulette" /macroerror off /aerror off /ridepillion /ridepillion /ridepillion /ridepillion /ridepillion /ridepillion /ridepillion /ac "Sprint" /mount "NAME OF YOUR WHATEVER MOUNT YOU WANT" (OR) /ac "Mount Roulette" /levelsync on The Sprint is added incase you are in an area where you can't summon your mount, like a city or a dungeon. And you don't need "ride pillion " because that's the driver seat. Riders dont get that option and if you are driving, then you are already in the driver seat.
sorry noob here, would the command for tank stance be /ac "Defiance" ? Also, would hitting this macro for sprint while in dungeons turn my tank stance off accidentally or is there a way to keep it from doing so? I use a very cut down version of this macro for 99 already and will definitely be adding the rest you suggested. thank you!
@@B33rdedB3lly Yes I think you're right it might turn it off I dont play tanks so idk but I do know all tanks have a different name for their tank stance, /ac "Defiance" on Should keep it on always if you dont have the "on" part then it will treat it as an on/off toggle.
The item for turn-in does not need to be in any specific spot in your bag. Just tap your confirm action button (default is 0) then use the arrow keys on your num pad to navigate to the item you’re turning in and then you can spam away with 0 or whatever your confirm action keybind is.
For levequest turn in, you can use arrow key to select the item you want, once you done it one time, it will stay there. Then you can spam confirm all you want lol. It's just a item targeting system for controller.
Regarding ground targeted ability macros, that's you have better options. Example number one: /micon asylum /merror off /ac asylum /ac asylum This one like before will cast your ground targeted spell on a target pc/npc/hostile/object, but, should target not be specified or out of range, it will error out casting it directly and will instead go into aiming mode (You will not see error with merror off tho) This is the most optimal macro with only downside being that it is a macro. Example number two is pretty much the same thing /micon asylum /merror off /ac asylum /ac asylum Same as before, but instead of going into aim mode, this will cast whatever ability around yourself. It's effective in most cases, but aside from usual downside of being a macro, it now has another issue of being distance sensitive. If you are in one corner of the boss arena and you need to cast it on an opposite corner that is outside of ability range, you will instead cast it around yourself, basically wasting it. Such situations don't happen very often though so that shouldn't be an issue
a better macro for ground target heals is /ac "{action name}" /ac "{action name}" /ac "{action name}" this allows you to place ground target aoes centered under the boss, and if the boss is one of the ones that floats off the stage it defaults to under the bosses target/main tank, and then if you need to place it for a stack you can drop target and it will autonatically be centered under you.
For the job Gauge issue, what I do is I turn them into simple bars in another UI layout, and then set them aside on the corner so they aren't obstructing my view. That way, Layout 1 could be all my normal HUD stuff and Layout 2 is my clean HUD!
Levelsync macro looks awesome, i will use it during fates for relic weapons. Clean UI is the nicest thing ever, thanks a lot, i copied your guide video for it before!
To disable buffs/debuffs hud elements (check the hud command description in text commands section in macros menu): /hud [on/off] Can do the same with gauges, but they are all separate hud elements, so won't fit in one macro. Can play around that though anyways I guess.
wow... having my free teleport spot in limsa since forever. the easy way to vesper bay would have really helped me earlier this year with the MSQ, like i saw a couple times that there is a passage on the map for it, but i thought its simply not open yet, that you have to do a quest for it to be accessable.
I created a macro that puts random mount summon and level sync together and it is wonderful. Anytime you dismount, you automatically level sync. Combine with /merror off, and you don’t get alerted when there is no sync available.
If you keep the default settings where number pad 0 is confirm, you can simply press that instead and use those same number pad arrow keys to pick the slot you want to select (which it will remember until you change it or log out). Also make sure you have changed your gear set to the job that you want to accept a leve on for even faster acceptance (because it’ll default to your job’s tab). When you get fast enough you’ll have the giant COMPLETE text display over the ACCEPTED text 😅
This is also useful when turning in dungeon gear for GC seals. This is as long as you only keep said gear in your bags and have it selected to only pull from your bags.
For the 2nd tip, don't need to have it in a macro, if your like me and coming from a Wow background you might have unsheath and sit bound to the same keys as they are in wow (sit is not bound by default in FF) pressing both at the same time creates the same effect, not sure if unsheathing while clicking to interact with some sort of seat works too but possibly. The fast confirmation can be used for many things, it's especially effective when you don't have the bag open like that. I mostly use it for quickly dumping tons of junk gear into the Grand Companies. A more niche recommendation i have now for 6.2 with the island sanctuaries is to make an macro with the line "/ac "duty action I" " (that's an i not a 1 btw) and fill up a macro with that so you you only have to press the island spring every few minutes instead of every 20sec while running around collecting materials. you can change the time to increase the intervals but since it can't activate sprint while collecting i found 10 to be more consistent since then it's 2 attempts instead of 1 during each sprint to extend it.
With the quick turn-ins, on controller it's just as fast without needing to organize (Or as some other comments have said, still picking the location the confirm shows up at), you just press the menu button (Square is standard I believe) then confirm for however many items you're turning in (for 3 item turn-in, it'd be square X square X square X X)
One thing I wish they'd fix with ground targeting: You can't place it if the area you're targeting is covered by a UI element, even if you're using the option to trigger the AoE using the skill shortcut. Makes dropping asylum so much harder sometimes, even with a fairly clean UI.
I dunno about teh vesper bay, Limsa is full of people all times and the loading can take a while, then going through another loading screen to vesper bay. This CAN be faster depending on your rig and hour of the day, but AFAIK, they now give you free vesper bay tickets if you play MSQ, they are more than enough and teleport you right outside of the waking sands.
You can assign both “Confirm” and “Display Subcommands” under Key Binding > System. To turn in items, you can spam confirm until it gets to the item selection. Then use Display Subcommands to open the item selection menu. You can then, spam Confirm to select the first item and turn it in. I have been using this combo and it’s super fast ;)
4:37 nearly every single character 90. gained the ability to fly to make the trip faster. and NOW I learn of this teleport shortcut to the waking sands. Pain. Thank you
For Shukuchi in PvE there's an even better macro that will execute the spell at your cursor without the extra confirm. With the settings you showed enabled you will immediately travel max range in the direction of your cursor. I'm guessing "gtoff" works for all ground targeted spells. /macroerror off /micon "Shukuchi" /ac Shukuchi gtoff
one of my favorite parts if the first tip is adding a mount command so you can automatically get off your mount prior to the level sync. great for dropping in on random fates.
Fully agree on the ground aoe one. As a NIN main, I've been using that trick for a while. Makes using Shukuchi mid fight really easy. It's helped me with Barbariccia EX when you have to run to the wall! And yeah i found out about the Vesper Bay shortcut in Shadowbringers. I felt so dumb.
concerning job gauges, I would suggest having a duplicate hud alyour, with the job guages to the far right side, shoved into the bottom corner. as part of the hotbar, have it swap between the hud layouts, possibly swapping the macro for a (revert) type macro as well, added into the macro.
for the confirm spam, if you set something to Display Subcommands, you can press that on the item select and it'll let you add the item in with confirm much easier.
I always love these "Things you didn't know" videos because I always learn something new even though i've been playing since launch. Thanks! Now i am off to change my AOE ground target settings...
That one is at least semi-new, I think they added that function in EW, or right around the end of ShB. If you missed it in those patch notes you wouldn't really know about it unless you went through the settings randomly for no reason and saw it.
For vesper bay I remeber getting 20+ total Vesper bay tickets that are an instant port to Vesper bay mostly through the msq and still have tickets left over.
This is actually something that most older players don't know about as it is a relatively recent thing. I think from 5.3 in fact (basically in the middle of the shadowbringer updates and additions). As most Veterans don't start a new character often, they would have seen these new tickets.
Oh to add a tip regarding something you touched on in the video... I know we are trying to stay away from talking about Mods as a community but there IS a mod to hide your Job Gauges unless in-combat... Just throwing that out there, not that i would use such a thing...
the number keypad works as a makeshift gamepad. 0 = accept . = cancel, 7 & 9 = previous/next page, and up down left right = 8 2 4 6 Mainly i use it to accept and turn in daily beast tribe quests.
I actually use my keypad for my OGCDs or other notable abilities! Makes it easier for me to weave stuff in or prioritize abilities and weaponskills there since they're in their own little area 0 is the most used ability of the class, like tank stance, WHM assize, RPR Enshroud, and so on, since it's the biggest button of the keypad, meaning I can't miss it.
I didnt know about waking sands transportation method, that looked like the "mail tickets" that would teleport straight to there, for a long long time. One day I accidently move my cursor over it, and I see, teleport to Waking sands mail looking icon with an amount of 20 pieces. :D
press twice to execute was one of my favourite changes before it was added I used to macro ground targeting skills cause they were so obnoxious now I don't need to
You just KNEW that a lil' speech bubble in the thumbnail on your kitty with her cute face n big mammary glands would make the whole thing cuter!! uwu!! Hehehe! ♡
Despi *posts /levelsync macro* Me: "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!? clicking analog stick 3 to 4 times is annoying when the fate is nearly over (I often catch fates just before they finish to see if i can do them in time . i know.. i'm weird xD) but this helps a bunch so thanks :D
5:12 Or, you know, you could just use a controller like I feel like the game was designed for first and then lazily given keyboard and mouse controls. The way that they could fix this for keyboard and mouse is to provide an option (disabled by default) to automatically move the mouse cursor to the confirm button UI element on any new window, exactly like Microsoft Windows has let you do since at least Windows XP.
Well 1st off, some play exclusively on controller so keybinds would be irrelevant for those. Also, the macro delay is because combat abilities that que when normally pressed do not when used in a macro. This means you have to wait until your gcd is on cd before your input is recognized, there's no buffer with those combat-type macros. Most non-combat macros aren't affected by this because they don't need to que, you can use macros like level sync inside the gcd without problem.
@@dtell8275 Well even if there's no delay, to use a macro you need a hotbar spot for it. You're right it's good for controller users but majority of players aren't. Nice to have the option.
@@TheVivi13 I'd say the biggest benefit to using level sync in a macro is that it would likely be a fail-through combo macro. The one I use for instance contains mount roulette, sprint, whatever pvp sprint was called, and level sync in one button. I also saw some pretty good ideas in this comment sec like adding tank stance and ride pillion. Oh, and if you're having HB space issues you should look into collapsible HBs. They're kinda a pain to setup but I couldn't imagine not having it after using for so long. I use mostly for job change macros, emotes, and all my hunt relays. Highly recommend.
@@dtell8275 Already know about collapsible hotbars. Not really my point though. I'm just simply saying there's a keybind for it and you don't have to set up a macro if it's just to level sync. If you wanna do more stuff than yea it makes sense to macro it.
Absolutely criminal you didn't mention the gtoff line for ground targeting macros. Adding this at the end of a line makes it so you don't even have to click a second time, it just places it at your cursor location.
Can't you earn significant amounts of gil from the Tea item? It'a not as much as the cookie gil, but it's still a very good amount, I think around half the amount?
I just angrily slam 0 on the num pad to confirm whatever.... lol (that was default for me) also you can use the numpad to move the cursor like it was the controller.
Hey is it possible to bind your hotbar keys to a mouse button on the site + 1 or mouse side button + q for example? Binding it to only mouse button works but mouse + any bind does not
i don't know about something like 1+q, but you can do ctrl+1 and shift +1. so for my hotbars, my first bar is 123.... , my second is ctrl + 123.... and third is shift + 123... , makes it a lot easier for me with an mmo mouse.
Huh. I just completed the quests that were around the aetherytes, if they got in my way when I wanted to TP there. There really aren't that many that get in the way, so it didn't take super long but I figured that was the best way to do it. Complete the quest once, get easy aetheryte clicking access forever.
The Emote is the "Eating Bread" emote "Ballroom Etiquette - Well Bread" and can be received for Isghard Restoration points (or from the Market board) The Fight is the new version of Final Coils of Bahamut Part 1
Woah WTF, does the shinyweapon thingy show the weapon glow to other players too, or is ist only client side if you use the macro?? (!!!WHEN THE WEAPON IS ON YOUR BACK!!!)
It depends on the weapon. Also only works on people who already have you loaded in, and if they have other player effects on. It works for a few people but no, most players don't notice it.
Probably a bit of a stretch to ask this here, but does anyone know how to re-position the blue boss gauge (for some encounters), for example when you're fighting Gaius now in Praetorium, when he split into 4 clones and you have to kill all before the blue gauge reaches 100? I'm on ps4 and I have tried multiple ways but I just couldn't move this particular gauge. Does anyone know how?
It's been a while, but if i recall correctly, in the HUD layout menu, right under the the numbers for the presets, there are a few small buttons. One of them is "Duty". Selecting that will show you the "Duty Gauge" and "Duty Action" hud elements to move around, that don't show up otherwise.
