Engineer explains 7 reasons why the 2025 Toyota Camry is better than 2024 version - especially when it comes to driving character. David was actually shocked to find out how good the driving feel is, such as the steering feedback, cornering capability, overall ride, and general road feel. The all-new 2025 Camry is hybrid only, and the many upgrades for 2025 makes this Camry the best version yet.

I have a 2021 Camry LE, base model that I bought on sale for $23.5K. This happened after my late wife’s Lexus ES350 at 100K miles lost a water pump and took out the engine. Lexus wanted 12,500 to fix a 7,000 car. At the time I considered the Camry to be the best car in the World, by far, when you make price a key factor. But I also had a chance to compare the Camry performance and drivability against the ES350. The Camry was always very close to the ES350. Its gas mileage was literally twice the Lexus on regular versus premium gas. And the Lexus maintenance costs are staggering. Three years later, I love the Camry and can hardly wait to drive it every day. By the way I bought a Camry station wagon in 1990 and had it for 27 years.

David, The arrival of the AWD Camry Hybrid is overdue. My only concern relates to the supply of Hybrid batteries and powertrain components. For several years Toyota has been having difficulty matching Hybrid supply with demand so let's hope those days are over. 🤞🤞 In regard to the shifter, I cannot understand why Toyota alternates between normal gear levers and Prius-style joysticks, does anyone actually prefer the Prius shifter? 🤔 Finally, your 'micro-preview' of the Crown Signia's drive 0:12 needs to carry a caveat about the negative effects of those ridiculous 21" rims. Once again, I call upon Toyota Canada to offer us the Signia XLE with more reasonable 19" wheels as well as the ultra sensible Camry LE on 16" rims. 🤨

Great video. I am probably going to buy a 2024 Camry. The 2024 Camry is the last year for the conventional 8 speed automatic transmission, which has a torque converter. 2024 is the last year for a Non-Hybrid Camry vehicle. The 2025 will only have a CVT type of transmission and a hybrid drivetrain. I am thinking of the long term outcome of the regular type of transmission verses the CVT type of transmission. CVT transmissions are very expensive to repair if the unit should ever need to be repaired. I really do not want to own a Hybrid vehicle. If I have to purchase a Hybrid it would only be from Toyota. They started assembling / engineering them for sale since 1997.

eCVT, not CVT. Despite the confusing name, hybrid eCVTs have no belts, chains or pulleys. They have drive motors and gearsets. The real question you should ask yourself is if you'd like to buy anywhere between 35% and 50% less gasoline for the same driving?

Adding the monthly payment increase of the hybrid + cvt + awd+ moonroof will more than nullify any fuel savings!! Looks like Toyota is making a cash grab in 2025!! New to Toyota here. I bought my daughter a 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. I liked it a lot. Fit and finish was great. However,, the Corolla is too small for me at 6'1". I liked very much that David mentioned that he likes to drive and that he appreciates sporty driving cars. Obviously gas mileage and all wheel drive is a huge plus at this price point. I'm looking for a commuter car with great gas mileage, fun to drive, comfortable, and a flawless fit and finish. Which trim level is recommended because it gets confusing. LE, XLE, XSE, etc. What is the best balance of trim-level or the best bang for your buck when it comes to the improved Camry?

@holgerviel1949
@holgerviel1949 Месяц назад
@@sethtenrec Yes, it has the best fuel mileage too due to the smaller tires. I just saw what Car & Driver said about the 2025 Camry: The Camry's starting price is a bit higher than before because of the new hybrid-only lineup, but the base LE is cheaper than the previous-generation hybrid. Of the four models that Toyota will offer at launch, the LE has the highest fuel-economy estimates due to its smaller wheels, but we'd opt for the slightly sportier SE. It has a firmer suspension setup and more standard features, and it offers many of the most desirable add-ons-such as the larger infotainment screen and the more powerful all-wheel-drive powertrain-as optional extras.

@@holgerviel1949 yeah C&D is OK, one of the best of a field of auto journalism sources that are in bed with the manufacturers. Larger infotainment screen means nothing to me, and the few extra horsepower are not going to be enough to make for the extra weight of AWD.

I had 2014 and 2020, but I liked 2014 over 2020 I made the wrong decision to sell 2014 and now have tlx which is nice and fun to drive.. But tempting to own 2025 from the day one after seeing the advertisement..

Is the cabin quiet inside? I have the 2023 XSE and I can't say it is quiet especially for the 38K that I paid.

All X trims have laminated glass now, so more Lexus light dampening

It’s better regarding safety packages for entry level, for AWD availability for all trims, seat composition, but the 2024 and before are better in the available of 3.5 liter V6 engine, non-hybrid options and better looking from both outside and inside

I've always liked the Camry ... I think the 2025 is Remarkable for not only its Presentation but its Features. I'm all about Value especially today.

David, excellent overview! Can you PLEASE ask Toyota design team to offer the XSE with a gloss front grill in black instead of the monochromatic look the currently have??? Many THANKS! Glad to hear that TNGA driving is improved on…I’m not a “professional “, but I enjoy fun on the road. It’s positive to note CAMRY is sporty!

YES. I don’t like the monochromatic grille either - I think a more aggressive “blackout” type approach to the XSE model would be more appropriate. Wonder if they’re doing a TRD model?

It’s a shame it’s only available in a hybrid, I don’t want a hybrid so I guess there’s no Camry in my future.

I like the Camry. I regret not buying one especially since the RAV4 I bought has one thousand miles and the driver seat is already tearing up from normal wear

The toned down front grill makes this a winner for me, the other grill was over powering for the car.

This is a major refresh, not redesign. It’s still on first gen TNGA unlike the new prius which is on second gen TNGA.

The 2025 Camry is no longer a performance car after Toyota dropped the 301 HP V6 engine at the end of the 2024 model year for the slower 232HP 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine. The 2025 Camry is heavier than the 2024 and earlier models due to the AWD's extra weight. Also, dropping the 8-speed automatic transmission was a big mistake that Toyota made replacing it with a CVT transmission if it is? I'm not sure if Toyota will reach its goal of selling 300,000 Camry in 2024-2025. That seems far reached to me, but time will tell.
