Push button start is standard on the 2025. Smart entry is optional. Push button start and smart entry are not the same thing. So, if it it’s not equipped with the option package that includes smart entry, you have to unlock the door by pressing the unlock button on the key fob, but you still use push button start after you are inside with the key fob.
I got to ask Kirk... I have new 24 camry se. And tested out pretty much all prior years of the 8th gen. The remote signal is is terrible. I estimate about 3 parking spaces of range at least for the flip keys. And I don't believe the fobs were any better. Is there an improvement on the 9th gen?
Great video! Short and sweet, you did a great job. I wish we could have learned more about some of the features (lane assist and anything else but it looks like those guys were forcing you out quickly
Can you help answer some questions about the 2025 Camry. I can’t seem to find this information anywhere online, and the dealerships in my area say the car is too new so they don’t know the answers to my questions. 1. Does the 2025 Carmy have steel knuckles or aluminum knuckles? 2. Approximately how many shop hours to replace new lithium ion battery in 2025 Carmy under the seat? I’m hoping the new design requires less time to be removed to get the battery out. 3. Does the 2025 Carmy have an electronically controlled variable oil pump? 4. Does the ECVT transmission in the 2025 Camry have a slush lubrication system or does it have a dry sump system like the 2024 Prius Prime? 5. Is the transmission in the 2025 Camry the PB12 transmission like in the 2024 Prius Prime which is lager than what is in the standard Prius? 6. Does the 2025 Carmy have lug nuts with bolts or did you switch to bolts like on the 2024 Prius? 7. Does the 2025 have a re-designed Two Piece timing chain cover like the 2024 Prius which was re-designed to eliminate the chances of leaks?
The Camry LE Hybrid Does Not 🚫 have a Key, Push Button Start, upon All of the vehicles. You need to watch Kirk's previous Video 😎 about the 2025 Camry LE Hybrid.
@@stephenwierzbicki4463 I watched Kirk Kreifels - This "basic" 2025 Toyota Camry LE, his tester had the CP Convenience Package includes Smart Key System on front doors and trunk with Push Button Start, remote keyless entry system and remote illuminated entry.
There’s no way dealers will be able to markup Camry’s. They are going to receive them by the boat load. Markup is normally for cars that have low inventory.
@@ajlee6933 they won't receive them by the boat load. Toyota's new strategy is to keep production as low as possible and keep prices as high as possible. Toyota is keeping both Corolla and Camry production purposely low
@@sachinnair91not true anymore. I work at a Toyota dealership and we literally just got 24 2025 Camry's allocated to us. And we still have a good amount of Corolla and Camrys on the lot as we speak
@@pheaonprincejr.8327 are you in Dallas? how many of those 24 are base LEs? The issue is you'll easily have 200 people wanting to buy those 24 units, causing dealer markup
@@sachinnair91 no sir! I'm in Florida! And although we have a "market adjustment" on the sticker, we're selling at MSRP and heck depending on the vehicle even below MSRP. I'm going to check how many were LE but you're right. I think most people will either go for the LE or SE
Personally I don't like the cloth on the dash. I think it'll probably get dirty really quickly and just not practical. I like the softex on my '22 on the dash. Otherwise the interior is a big improvement! Prefer the blacked out grill on the SE
There's a picture of a windchill pearl XSE on the toyota website that has LED strip lights on the bumper, wish I could attach a screenshot but if you've been to the gallery you'll know what I'm talking about. Did you see any that actually had those lights?
Now comes the extremely painful and frustrating experience of dealing with a car dealership... make sure you use an auto loan calculator before you go there. And don't take any optional package u didn't ask for. F them.
Yeah here comes dealer marl ups And bait and switch with advertised price to get you in the door. To tell you that 4.99% gone and it's 9.89% and $2500 markup. 😂😂😂😂
You better go talk to your bank and get their pre-approval before you go to the dealership. This is one of the many things to prepare for. Never take a loan from Dealership if your credit score is above average. and those auto loan calculators are actually worthless.
As an 8th Gen Camry owner, I was looking forward to the addition of memory seats. However, you can only get the memory seats on the XLE. Boo!! Also, the panoramic moonroof on the 8th gen are notorious for failing and they cost $7-$11k to replace! So, make sure you buy an extended warranty and make sure the extended warranty covers the moonroof. A lot of people complain about the JBL stereo and the "subwoofer" rattling so it's not that great that you have to take the panoramic roof and the JBL stereo if you. want memory seats. The 19' and 18" Toyota wheels are known for getting bent by potholes, sure they look nice but they aren't durable. Glad they finally got wireless apple carplay. I do not like that you have to subscribe to Toyota Connected Services if you want to use the remote start (currently $8 a month). I think the body colored grill on the XSE looks terrible and agree with you that the black grill on the SE is much better looking.
Why is Toyota not making push button standard on the Camry at this point? For $30k and it’s still an “option” that’s crazy. Nissan has been making the Altima with standard push button start since 2007.
I was just thinking about this the other day. It seems like push-button start being standard-period, is dragging out longer than most options. For instance the CD Player was standard 10-12 years after luxury cars had it. I know the Gen 2 (2004) Prius had push-button start. Even Bluetooth is now standard, and Toyota really delayed on that. Is it because there aren't any NEW options coming along to help differentiate pricing??
Simple The SE, which is always the volume seller, will look much better in comparison It's only a few grand more, plus plus plus of course, but to most people it's worth the upgrade And therefore Toyota makes more per car
@@BradleyEdwardAnderso some people just love key ignition for security reasons. I have seen customers who come to Toyota dealerships asking and begging for key ignition instead of push to start button for starting for number of reasons
It's even more odd because it's a fully hybrid lineup. If you've ever driven a hybrid with a key-ignition, it's weird to start because the engine doesn't actually start
Kirk, I was almost as enthusiastic as you about the 'deal of the decade' LE AWD and then I learned the brains trust running Toyota Canada won't be offering it. Our 'base' model is the more expensive SE. 🤬
@@alvinsimba734 Deleting base trim options is getting to be a bad habit with Toyota Canada. Despite the fact wagons are vastly more popular here, we won't be getting the Crown Signia XLE on the smaller 19" rims either. 🤨
Even the XLE looks pretty sporty for the "luxury" trim. I also think it has the best grill being slightly less patterned and having that nice continuous line from the hood flowing into the grill. The XLE in that blue exterior and beige/gray interior color is my favorite of the lineup. My second, more affordable pick would be the SE. The wheels are worth the upgrade to me over the LE. The XSE of both this and the last generation always just seemed a bit over the top with all the sporty touches for a Camry/normal sedan.
Hopefully you can find the LEs with the nicer option packages on the lots; those were harder to find. Really glad that Toyota brought back the aluminum pedals for the SE/XSE (first seen on IS/Celica GT-S/MR2 Spyder); last time we saw those was on the 2010-11 Camry SE models
How come you didn't go over the headlights on the SE and the LE? They look different than the double stacked beam on the higher trims, and it looks like the SE and LE do not have the DRL strips.
I’m in the market for a vehicle. I’ve always heard do not get a car in its first year of a new model. Considering the ‘25 Camry basically has the same frame/build as a ‘24 Camry, does this rule of thumb go out the window?
I think in terms of the powertrain it'd be safe as it's used previously in many models but there possibly could be small issues of build changing over material and whatnot on the Camry assembly line but just speculation
The rule of thumb is if the model is very new (new chassis, new engine or transmission), you want to wait until the facelift, that's 2~3 years of waiting. If it's a mild update not unlike this one for Camry, it's still advisable to wait for 1 year, at very least 6 mo, that's just enough time for any bigger problems to surface.
Silver exterior grey interior. My issue with the SE interior is it’s not solid black, I hate when they throw around a random color that doesn’t match all exterior colors. A red and black exterior with black and white interior is an eyesore
Toyota seems to think cost cutting exterior lighting is still a good idea. The LE and SE still has no LED turn signals, cheaper DRL’s, and cheaper taillights.
@@KirkKreifels I’m sure SE buyers care, because if they didn’t they would’ve just chose the LE model. This is an oversight imo, because those are the two most popular models and they are going to look basic next to the Accord’s lighting.
The design definetly takes some getting used to on this camry. At least its not ugly like the Accord is now. I see that Toyota is starting to take a lot of risks in their cars. I hope reliability isn't compromised in the process.
On XSE, you can NOT get RED interior with BLUE exterior! Shame, because Reservoir Blue would match well with Red interior, and the only other XSE option is boring Black.
With my current lease coming to an end within the next six months, I have already met owned several cameras in the past… Had to get the RAV4 as it was during Covid and nothing else was available… Personally, I love the XSE It has all of the tech that I want… Sticker at my dealership was $42,487 and upstate New York. my salesman told me the SE would be a better choice for me to be at the payment or I want to be Waiting for them to come in so I can test drive one to see how I like it… Or I might just stay with another RAV4 XSE or XSE Prime Although some people do not like that, Toyota went hybrid on the Camry… I was a little surprised at first don’t know if it will hurt sales definitely do not have a problem with them all hybrid and I love the fact that all-wheel-drive is available across-the-board… Lastly, I am not usually a bass model buyer… However, the LE I think offers a bang for the buck when all of the boxes are checked
@@NoNameFish247 other than additional passenger room mainly on back and additional storage space in the trunk, although you lose the wide hatch opening . And real solid Proven door handles over the rear electronic cost cutting plastic ones. In what ways exactly would you say the Camry is more capable than a Prius?
They all have the badge on the hood with the sensors tucked in the grill. The Corolla didn’t do this across all models and the badge interrupts the hammerhead line. I had to choose between looks and features for my Corolla.
What’s better in long run between ux300h vs Camry xle? Camry even has more hp with lower price. But I’m leaning towards luxury of Lexus even tho this camry is very luxurious
@@MyLifeISLEGENDARY836..78 They aren't answering that question. Given the price point for a loaded XSE or XLE I think the GR/TRD Camry will be pushing $45k
@@victorpirsoul3979 future. gr Camry price won't be a issue and it's just a matter of will they do it. If they don't it's not a big deal or a must considering the last TRD Camry was not a big hit
Insane how this is now a better buy than the prius. We'll see how quick these are but apart from that, these seem better than the Prius in every way and it seems like they'll be easier to find, given that these are Camrys.
Interesting comparison! You’re probably right too. I’m a Prius fan and driver of a Gen 2, and the new one is just so impractical. The Camry has a bigger back seat, bigger trunk, and better rear visibility - my three biggest complaints about the Prius!
for me its either the SE or XSE. The sport tuned suspension is an important criterion but im also a little bummed that 16 or 17" alloys are not available for the SE. The mileage/ snow tires etc will be aa big factor in mileage/ safety. my only knock on the XSE is 19" wheels like the prius higher trims
Crazy how these Camry's as well still come with a normal key. When i was shopping for my 2021 Camry some of them didnt have push start. U can find a 2014 Nissan Sentra with push start
Next Gen Uber vehicles lol But man, if you own one, you’ll know why people keep them, especially the hybrids. Stupid fuel efficient and bulletproof, they’ll last forever with basic maintenance and don’t give them Nissan BAE treatment
I like the XSE looks the most I think but I can’t stand red interiors, especially on something like a Camry. Looks tacky and it’s played out, won’t look good forever. Is black the other interior option? I really wish there was something other than red and black for that trim, like a light gray or white. I live in AZ and black interiors just aren’t the move out here with the heat, gets way too hot
I think I would find it stressful to live with a red interior...especially one that bright, lol. It's just too much visual energy and the opposite of calming. The XSE of both this and the last gen always seemed a little over the top for a Camry, especially with the red interior and two-tone paint. My favorite is the blue XLE on gray/beige interior color combo they are showing. That blue is gorgeous. Honestly, every trim other than the LE look pretty "sporty" to my eyes.
Toyota has done a great job on the exterior of this and the Prius. However for me this is a far better option than the Prius with the added cabin space and the driving refinement. Thanks for the video.
Waiting for a camry versus prius video I like the Prius better styling much more sport teal hatch smaller size better mpg. Would live to see the handling braking quietness refinement maneuverability workmanship quality fir finish seat comfort etc compared to cone another along with possible mods and upgrades. .one thing i wish the Prius had was a bigger gas tank extended thigh support sport seats a real sun roof that opens better rear visibility
You didn't mention the difference of headlights between the xle xse and the se le. I mean you kinda did but didn't show the difference. That can be a deal breaker for some people
