Honestly google has kept their promise on every os and security updates so far. Not keeping this new promise would be suicide imo. Great video! Got my 8 pro on the way!

Coming from a fellow S22 user, I think you may have just sold me on the Pixel 8 series. I completely agree with everything you've said about the S22 and even as a somewhat light user, the battery life gives me anxiety and has forced me to buy a power pack just in case the battery decides to deplete and leave me with less than 20% charge while I'm away from home and need the extra battery to make calls and look up bus and train timetables, etc. I've also been eager to try all the AI features of Google phones for at least a couple years now since the Pixel 6 and this might be the time to take the leap. With a trade in value of 275 pounds, it reduces the Pixel 8 Pro to less than 800 pounds which I think is a fair price for such a feature packed phone.
I'd recommend watching my other videos on the Pixel 8 before you buy as I've been using it for over 2 months now - but still would highly recommend it! I've really enjoyed using it for the last couple of months and the battery alone is definitely better than the S22 which was my biggest pain point with that phone. Thanks for the super in-depth comment and I'm glad it wasn't just me who had such a terrible time with the S22! Cheers!
Congratulations you upgraded to another Exynos chip! The Google chip is a custom Tensor 😂 It's Google's streamlined software that will help save battery life Too bad the base 8 isn't LTPO, it is fixed refresh rate not variable. So battery life on the Pro should be better
Hahaha I know this 🤣 - the substantially larger battery should also make a good difference too! Yeah, LTPO should definitely make a big difference on the Pro. Cheers for watching and for the comment 👌
Yeah, I don't think I would be switching if I had an S23 to be honest, it sounds like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip really sorted out the battery woes of the S22 (plus the slightly larger battery).
Battery needs testing! 🔋🔌⚡ Let us know how you get on... The pixel software experience looks good especially within photos but will it perform well for the full 7 years of updates? I doubt it'll make it past 3.
I'll get that tested for you big man 👌 Yeah, not sure, we'll have to see if the Tensor G3 can handle it! I doubt I'll still be using this phone in 7 years, but will be interesting to see if Google actually live up to the promise!
Past 2 or 3 years, I've teetered on switching from my Galaxy phones to Google. Finally taking the plunge going to the Pixel 8 Pro. I love my S21, and loved my previous S10 plus. The battery life on my S21 just isn't preferable. I have RU-vid music / premium, and prefer Google services vs Samsung. Hope the switch is smooth. Keeping the S21 just in case
Interesting to hear your point of view! Thanks for sharing! I'm the same - I use a load of Google services anyway so the Pixels should have the ultimate integration of these for a really good experience!

Both of you are going to love Pixel phones. It's hard to explain. But there is no phone that offers the Pixel experience. Switched to the regular s23 because of the size. But the phone is just a bad overall experience. Decided to go with the pro 8 because my last few pixels have been budget (including the P5. Returned the 7 Pro and bought the s23) and the full pro experience is necessary for me this time around.
Yeah, I'm the same - I used to think I liked bigger phones, but smaller phones are so much more comfortable to use! I think the iPhone 15 will be very slightly smaller than the Pixel 8, but it would be interesting to see a comparison! Thanks for watching 👍
Are you getting Free Pixel Buds Pro for the Pixel 8 or 8 pro. In America, Buds Pro only offered free on Pixel 8 Pro? At end of video, you said you got free buds ? I also have S22 for same reasons you mentioned Lmk please, Arran
Getting free Pixel Buds Pro with the Pixel 8, not the Pro. In the UK, you can either get a free pair of Pixel Buds Pro or £200 off the Pixel Watch 2 - I chose the Pixel Buds Pro! If you go for the 8 Pro, you can get the Pixel Watch 2 for free on preorder, which is a pretty sweet deal tbh. The deals must be different in the US then! I guess with the exchange rate, we are actually paying more, so Google is probably making more from UK customers in terms of the mark up, so they can probably afford to do it here, and maybe not in the US?
It might be worth waiting for some reviews on the Pixel 8 first, but you can get some really good deals on the Pixel 7 right now, so it's up to you really! I would personally wait to see Pixel 8 reviews so you can see how much better the Pixel 8 is, so you can decide whether it's worth the extra money. Hope this helps! 😊
Pixel uses exynoss chip and modem - you are switching to the same thing. G3 seems based off S21 - some customisation to the TPU. Some of the AI features are only pixel 8 pro - like on device Bard to summarise things. No autofocus on the selfie camera. Still, looking forward to your tests - I'd like to see multi-window / pop-up windows especially coming from samsung. Also if you can get rid of the widgets stuck on the Home Screen
Yup, I'm aware of this, it's actually been pointed out several times in the comments already 😅. I'm hoping Google's software optimisation and the larger battery makes a substantial difference. On the point about the summarise feature - I'm 99% sure this is also coming to Pixel 8 as well as the pro. I know the zoom enhance feature is limited to the Pixel 8 Pro, but I'm almost certain summarise and Assistant with Bard are both coming to Pixel 8. I've looked around multiple articles (including Google's own) and can't find anything that says summarise isn't coming to Pixel 8 (but I could be wrong). Yup, I'm aware of the no autofocus in the selfie camera - doesn't bother me to be honest as I rarely take selfies 😅 Sure, I'll see if I can test those things for you! Thanks for the comment - I appreciate you! 🙌
The tensor G3 is a modified exynos 2300 chip that was never released by Samsung. The hilarious thing is my S22 exynos 2200 was getting 3-4hrs SOT. My Pixel 8 is getting 6-8.
Interesting, I'm getting some weird results on my Pixel 8, but I'll definitely discuss them in my video - definitely not seeing 6-8 hours of SOT! But it might be depending on differences in how we are using the phone.
Yeah, it's soooo bad haha. Yup, that would be excellent!! I think 6-7 is probably more realistic tbh, but we'll see! Anything is better than the 3-4 that I'm currently getting 🤣🤣
Nice one! I think you should get the best battery out of the 8 Pro because of the LTPO display allowing it to go down to 1Hz for when fast refresh rate is not needed! Interested to hear how the 8 Pro performs in comparison to the 8! 👌
I've been mildly happy with my S23 Plus battery life and the Samsung skin in ok. What I am really starting to dislike with the phone is maintaining the two systems (google and Samsung), and using OneDrive to backup my gallery. And I haven't found a way to default to google photos over Samsung gallery.
Just so you know, the Qualcomm version of the S22 was absolute trash as well for efficiency. I had to do 3 separate warranty replacements beforw i got a better (less overheating) variant. So, it wasnt the exynos processor that was the issue for S22, but rather the manufacturer of both those chipsets which was samsung.
the S22 was the worse galaxy I've ever had, the battery is absolutely terrible as you described, the OLED screen has now some serious burnt in, it has had several bugs never fully fixed like the a sound delay in the videos. I've always prefered the Galaxy phones and was waiting for the s24, but now I'm hesitating with the Pixel 8
Interesting to hear your experience! I've not had any issues with burn in, but that sounds like an absolute pain! I think I have experienced the sound delay you are talking about too - it never lasts too long and fixes itself usually for me by pausing and starting the video again, but still not ideal! Thanks for the comment!
Outside of Design or my doubts about Tensor G3 Power efficiency on a long run , i have a problem with the way Google communicates and releases AI Features, it’s not transparent at all. I live in France so french is my main language: what about Summarize, Call Assist or Google Bard ? There are not there yet and i don’t have informations on Pixel french website. I also talk, read and write portuguese too: same thing. It gives me the same feeling as S22 Exynos 🆚 S22 Snapdragon. Buying a Pixel 8 or 8 Pro, today, is like buying a Pixel for Americans first. I think this pricing is too high for what Google is able to deliver in most countries outside of USA. Maybe all those features will be ok in January 2024 with a price drop.
Yeah, I'd say that's a fair assessment! It's not quite as bad in an English-speaking language like the UK, but it's definitely worse in countries where English isn't the first language! Thanks for the comment! 👌
Finally upgrading from my pixel 3 to a pixel 8 mainly because it's the smallest pixel in the last few years (still seems too big and heavy imo). The $200 trade in for my pixel 3 was too good to turn down!
Absolutely! I switched from the Pixel 2 to the Pixel 6 Pro 2 years ago. The Pixel 2 up to 5 had the perfect form factor. My current 6 Pro is just too large for me, I still couldn't really adjust to its size. But back then, the regular Pixel 6 was also quite chunky, and the Pixel 5 was already hard to get and didn't have a bright future in terms of support. So the 6 Pro was a natural choice for me. But it also has some hardware issues, it's just not as reliable as I had hoped. I'm sure that by now, Google figured it out and the Pixel 8 should be an amazing and hopefully reliable phone for years to come. The form factor is finally nice again, and the 7 years update promise is pretty amazing - this might be my next phone!
Nice one - thanks for such an in-depth comment! Great to hear your experience! Yeah, hopefully Google has sorted out the hardware issues at this point, but we’ll have to wait and see! I’m really looking forward to the form factor, like you said! My Pixel 8 is due to arrive later this week, so I’ll definitely be making a first impressions video at some point soon after that! Thanks for watching and commenting! 👌
I did exactly the same change from S22 to Pixel 8 and am so much looking forward. To be honest, our reasons have a Tinderdate, because they match like a 100%.
There are zero concerns our reasons to be worried about the 7 years of support. Even if they would stop making hardware which I highly doubt they will at this point. The pixel phones are getting more successful year after year last year alone they sold 10 million units that's quite impressive for Google Not very far behind the Galaxy s22 numbers . 😮 But like I said even if they would stop making hardware Let us not forget LG and HTC both dropped out of the hardware race and they were able to fulfill their obligations continue supporting them as promised Google is a hundred times bigger than both of those companies combined and they own Android End of discussion 😮.
Good points! Yeah, I'm not overly concerned to be fair, but I think it's something that definitely has to be highlighted as they are quite prolific for it 😅
Yeah, agreed, it is always definitely a possibility, so I think we have to bear that in mind when talking about anything Google! Hopefully the Pixel line won't be one of those though.
@@gowthamg5732 what you fail to realize is Google gives away more free products in a year than most company's like apple do their entire lifetime of existence Nine out of ten of the programs are products you're speaking of where free services that Google had expectations of gaining a return on the backside after it gained popularity but unfortunately those services did not gain popularity for example Google Plus was created to compete with Facebook but it failed to gain any traction so they shut it down nobody paid a nickel to use it. I would be willing to bet my life that if Google stop supporting the pixel in less than seven years either the world will come to an end or Android itself will get completely shut down 0000000000000000000.1 %. Chance of that 👋👋
@@arranpbrown the one thing that I really love about Google over other companies is they don't pay RU-vidrs through ambassador programs like apple does and others . That says a lot about there integrity 💯

Yeah, it's going kinda crazy right now haha 😅. I definitely wouldn't manage daily, but trying to keep consistent and maintain a decent quality, so going to try and keep that up 😊 cheers for the suggestion!
I was using an iPhone 13 a few weeks ago bought a Pixel 7 and now I gave my iPhone 13 to my son and I'm using the Pixel 7 and it's much better than I thought.
Stick around for the first impressions when I get the Pixel 8 and I'll also be doing a review later on once I've had a chance to see the things that work really well and the things that don't, over a longer period of time! I really like the S22 in everything but the battery performance, so really hoping the Pixel is a great experience too, but with better battery performance this time!
Yeah, it's shocking! Thanks for sharing your experience - I think Samsung have sorted out the issues with the S23 to be fair, by switching all the phones to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip!
You're spot on with the S22 battery. I have had to upgrade to S22 ultra due to poor battery life and bearing in mind the price, the pixel is a better buy!
Interesting - I've had some odd results with the Pixel 8 too, but it's early days I suppose! I'm working on my first impressions video just now, so I hope for that to be released this weekend! I went for Obsidian Pixel and I really like how it looks, but the pink one does look pretty cool too!
Pixel 8 cheaper than the S23, even S22 too. I imagine the S22 battery is similar to the battery life on the pixel 4. I understand the S23 battery is much better than the S22
Yeah, great points. I've also heard the S23 has a lot better battery, but like you pointed out, the Pixel 8 is cheaper, you get stock android and some awesome AI features on top, so I'm actually pretty excited for the phone to arrive! 😁
having native VVM and only one app per function (1 mail app, 1 messenger etc) instead of 2 (sansung phones), and no bixby is enough reason to ditch samsung for Pixel. I have had the S21, 22, 23. Finally sold all of them went Pixel 7 last year and Pixel 8 Pro this year. Way better Android experience on Pixel.
Ive just got a google pixel 8 pro amd it seems to be pretty great, honesly i don't need 12 hours of screen time like some poeple need, camera is great too
Nice one! I've heard the battery is pretty good on the Pixel 8 Pro though, so that's good! I've had some mixed results on the Pixel 8 which I'll talk about in my next video, but overall, I'm liking the phone!
@@arranpbrown I've upgraded from the 13 pro, I was going to get the 15 pro but honestly after using iPhones for so long I'm getting bored and I've always liked the stock Android on pixel phones haha
Just ordered the regular Pixel 8 256 Gigs Hazel colour.....switching from my Galaxy Flip 4 since the folding mechanism is starting to malfunction....my first pixel device....fingers crossed...
I'm afraid it's already pre-ordered 😅 it's a bit of a risk, but I'm excited to get my hands on the phone and make some content about it to be honest. That is absolutely good advice for the majority of people though!! Thanks 👌
Wow!! Exactly the reason I am moving from s22 to pixel. I have been with samsung galaxies for few years but now moving aeay becoz of batteries. S22 battery sucks. Even for snapdragon processor. I have been running mine on power saving, extra dim mode 24×7 for months. And still need to charge atleast 2 times a day for normal use. Whats the point of having such expensive device when I have to carry a power bank all the time. Screen size is also non negotiable, so pixel. S23 battery also sucks
Yes! There are a lot of comments on this video with people having the same issue, so it's good to hear that it's not just me having this issue! Interesting to hear your experience - I hope you enjoy the Pixel when you get it 😁
The rounded corners and small form factor will be what can make me jump from my S22... In 2 or 3 more years though. The US variant of the S22 is still great.
Nice one - glad you've had a good experience with the S22. It's weird that Samsung made the decision to only launch the phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in NA only!
@@arranpbrown I was lucky because I needed to travel to the US at the time. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten the S22. My previous S8 with Exynos was atrocious.
Seems like you didn't know that Tensor chip is just a modified Samsung exynos chip. And it also suffers from inefficiency just like every Samsung manufactured chips.
I did know this actually, as I looked into it after I was editing the talking head of this video, but I didn't want to re-record the video to add that in as I didn't think it was that worth it. It's a good point, but I'm hoping Google's optimised software tied with the larger battery on the Pixel 8 should make a big difference to the shocking battery life I'm used to on the S22. Will have to wait and see! Thanks for the comment!
@@arranpbrown As a fan of Pixel's software and camera, I have to admit that their latest Pixel 8 series only has a mediocre chip that throttles a lot. There are already benchmarks leaked on the internet about it. It looks like our last chance is to wait for the Pixel 10 which expected to have TSMC manufactured chip, which is rumored to be released by 2025.
Fair enough - I don't think it's the phone you should get if you want to do any major photo editing or gaming to be fair, but I'm hoping it still does most of the things I need it to without a hitch. Benchmarks are useful, but I think the real-world performance will be more telling!
Yeah, I thought I'd take the plunge and just go for it as I knew people would be interested in it on here, so I had a bit of motivation to be an early adopter! Hoping to release a video at some point next week. The Pixel arrives on Thursday, so will need a couple of days of testing etc. before I can formulate some first impressions/initial review, but it will be coming! Cheers
I've also been a-thinking lately. Do I actually 'need' a larger *phone* display? I've also, always gone for the 'max' variants to get that extra phone 'real estate'. But aside from maybe a gaming perspective (which I'm not arsed about).... I'm beginning to think - I don't really think I do. The extra weight & size of the Max versions, don't really mean that much, when just viewing your everyday socials (I mean, what's half an inch.....😉) But actually, weight-wise and overall size in the pocket, when we're out & about....that _does_ make a difference!
Yeah, I went with the smaller phone when I bought the S22 and I really love it! For me, I do most of my content consumption on my iPad, so I think that's why I don't really miss having a larger screen. Also, "what's half and inch" made me laugh 🤣 thanks for the comment!
Ive upgraded from the S22 for the same reason. I'll miss the small form factor of the samsung but the battery life and smoothness of the pixel 8 is night and day. P.S. The x3 digital zoom on the pixel is better than samsungs dedicated zoom lens lmao
Yup, it's definitely better than the S22, but like I said in my other comment - I'm getting some weird results with the battery! I'll need to do some direct comparisons with the cameras on the S22 and my Pixel 8 to test the differences - but it would be interesting if the 3x digital crop is better than the optical lens/camera on the S22! Thanks for the comment and really glad you are having a good experience with your Pixel 8!
Yeah, agreed - the only one I partly like is the Samsung Health one that I use with my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. It's actually quite good, but apart from that, I'm not a big fan either! Mainly bloatware!
I think it depends on what your experience has been like with the 6a. I've heard that the software updates since the Pixel 8 came out to the Pixel 6a have made some really good changes in terms of things like battery performance on that phone. The cameras on the 6a are still really good too, so it's up to you if you think it's worth the upgrade! If you do decide to pick up the Pixel 8, I'd recommend getting it when it's on a discount (which seems to be quite frequently!) as you can get this phone for $100-$200 off, which I think is a great deal for this phone! And if you can trade in your 6a then you can get it even cheaper 😊
my experience with the pixel 6a was a little bit terrible, overheating just with a hotspot on, mobile data sometimes fast some times extremely slow (i think its my operators fault) and extremely short battery with sometimes fast charging and sometimes slow charging, um planning to upgrade to a pixel 8 or a 9 next year@@arranpbrown
Same here, s22 to Pixel 8. Samsung is over bloated, tries to make us use garbage Samsung apps and assistant at every turn. Pixel is the best iPhone competitor, Samsung shot themselves in the foot on this one.
Agreed - they do try and push their Samsung apps and features wayyy too much to be fair. I'm not going to miss that! Looking forward to using the Pixel 8! 😁
Yeah, I'm aware of this haha. However Google should have more control over the manufacturing process and their optimised software should make a big difference in performance and battery life!
It depends what you need to be honest. Do you already own an Android? If so, you might be more comfortable with the Pixel 8. If not, then the iPhone might be the best bet. The iPhone 15 Plus is also substantially more expensive than the Pixel 8 and also way larger, so bear these things in mind too. If you already own a load of other Apple products, you might also be best going with the iPhone as this will integrate with those products really well. If you want the AI features, then the Pixel 8 is the way forward. I think the battery life on the iPhone 15 Plus will likely be better than on the Pixel 8. Hope this helps you make a decision!
I don't think it will make a noticeable difference to be honest. UFS 3.1 is already really fast at 2.1GB/s read speeds and 1.2GB/s write speeds, so I can't see that slowing down the phone at all. Still important to be aware of for certain users though! Thanks!
I guess one other thing to mention about that is that UFS3.1 consumes more power than UFS4.0, so that could make a difference to battery life to be fair!
@@arranpbrown Understand, problem is google doesnt really have a good track record about battery problems down the line. And so far my s23 held up really really good. Also tempted to buy the pixel for many reasons, but battery for the me is really important on smaller phones.
Yeah, battery definitely is important to me too! So it's going to be a focus of my reviews because what's the point of having a phone if it dies on you after half a day? Glad to hear the S23 is working well for you though and I've only really heard good things about it! 👌
I am interested in Pixel 8 as well but my S22 here in USA is getting 4:45 minutes of SOT as I type this with 22% remaining. Dark mode and other settings have helped. S22 is a good phone, but I miss my old Pixel 3. Probably going back to with Pixel 8 next year.
Yeah, that's not too bad - in the video, mine had about 4 hours and 20 mins of battery life, but that was since the last full charge and I charged it up slightly multiple times in between that time - the battery life is just terrible for me haha. Hopefully the Pixel turns out to be better, but only time will tell! I'll be doing a 3 months later review I think, so we can see if the battery life holds up after an extended period of time too. Thanks for your comment!
Haha I do know this to be fair, but I think Google's software optimisation should nullify this as an issue, plus the tiny battery of the S22 was part of the main problem, so the Pixel 8 has a substantially larger battery too which should make a big difference haha
I think the 8 will definitely be a better choice if you can afford it to be honest. The 7 still has some issues that have hopefully been ironed out with the 8!
Yeah, you're not wrong - I'm not bothered about an overly powerful chip though if it does the basics well. Battery life is my main concern so I'm interested to see how the Pixel 8 performs in that respect 👌
I'am like a donkey in the middle of a bridge. What would be your personal choice if you have to choose between S23+ (plus) and regular Pixel 8? Honestly 🙏🙏🙏
Haha - interesting analogy 😅 that's a difficult one - I think for me it would depend on the battery life of the S23+, because, like I said in the video, I really liked everything about the S22 apart from the battery life. If you're happy with the phone you have, stick with it at the moment is what I would say! Additionally, if you're interested in the Pixel 8, I'd recommend waiting for reviews etc. to come out so you can find out if there are any dealbreakers for you about the phone! I bought it early because I want to make videos about it too, so I'm happy taking the risk that there might be things I don't like about the phone!
"depend on the S23+ battery life"? You know how super fantastic and long-lasting is the battery on the S23+ thanks to the SN8 G2 right? I don't understand your "doubt" in this part. Wise advise on waiting for the S24 and more stabilized reviews on Pixel 8. Appreciate very much this lucid and honest perspective 🙏🙏🙏
Haha yeah, I just wanted to make sure you were actually getting good battery life haha - I didn't doubt it, but you might have had a different opinion so I didn't want to assume! No worries at all - hopefully you're happy with whatever you end up doing 😊
You've clearly not seen the other 15 comments saying the same thing 😅 I'm aware of this, but hoping that Google's software optimisation and the larger battery capacity should make a huge difference to battery life performance.
US customers have it rough man. S23 is perfect, except you cant unlock bootloader. Pixel 8 can be unlocked, except its hardware sucks Xiaomi 13 can be unlocked, except the service sucks. :(((((((
I actually don't mind it to be fair - I think it's already proving to be quite a point of division for people though. Some people think it's creepy etc. others have the point that you can effectively already do this in Photoshop, so this is just making it more accessible! I actually think there are going to be a lot of people who are going to use this feature a lot to be honest!
@@arranpbrown But making those accidental faces at the wrong time that Google wants us to edit out are what makes a picture a picture... those mistakes often make people laugh and brings them together more than an unnaturally perfect picture where everyone is smiling and not blinking at the same time.
It's ultimately your decision. I would hold off making a decision now, and wait for the proper reviews or at least first impressions videos coming from creators so you can see if there are any major differences or particularly issues with the Pixel 8. I should have mine later this week and I will hope to get a video out on it fairly soon after that, so keep an eye out for that! There should also be creators doing specific comparisons between the two phones - I'm not sure if I will do that because I haven't actually used the Pixel 7 myself. Hope this helps!
Just go onto the Google Store website and click preorder on the Pixel 8 - after you've selected the storage and colour you want, you get the option to put in your phone for trade in, at least on the UK site. There is a chance it might not be available depending on which country you're from!
@@arranpbrown It will have better battery life than S22 but Tensor still has bad efficiency and thermal throttling. If you prefer stock Android you can give Nothing Phone 2 a try, you will love it w excellent Battery life and a great stable, efficient soc.
Hi, great video! Btw i still own 4 year old A70 and wanna look for new compact phone. Tired of big phones lol Im considering S23, flip 5, pixel 8, iphone 15 pro or maybe wait for S24? Which should i get or any more recomendations? Thanks!
@@jejunamja yeah i know its a really good phone and choose it over zenfone 10. But we're now at last quarter of 2023, is it worth waiting for S24? Hbout pixel 8 and 15pro?
If you're willing to wait, it might be worth seeing what the S24 offers, and if it's a decent enough upgrade over the S23, then you could go for that, or if not, then you could get the S23 on a discount when it's released. Honestly I think any of the phones you mentioned are good options, however, you'll save yourself a decent amount of money by going for the S23 or Pixel 8 over the flip 5 or iPhone 15 Pro. And I agree, the ZenFone 10 is a really good option, especially if battery life is important to you - the only thing you miss out on is the level of software support that you get from the other options. Hope this helps!
Hey thanks so much for replying! For me, budget isnt an issue and just want a great phone thats worth buying. I really like pixel 8 but it isnt officially sold in my country so i wonder if its worth getting or not? Does pixel 8 with new tensor G3 has overheating and poor battery like tensor G2 on pixel 7? Personally would you recommend getting S23 or iphone 15 pro more? So maybe the best option would be to wait till S24 launch then decide the purchase?? Lastly out of interest, why you prefer upgrading to pixel than iphone 15 pro or S23/S24? Thx😊
@@jokast8861 if you can wait till February for the s24 it's probably worth it. I have the Galaxy s23 plus and I can't kill this phone's battery kind of big for what I usually get but I also bought an used iPhone 13 mini that I kind of go back and forth between them I just swap sims. If you're open to the used market I can highly recommend to get a 13 mini if you liked small phones this thing is is great for my runs and active days and put in your pocket and you almost forget it's there
Nice one - that is quite a difficult decision. I would wait for reviews of the Pixel 8 to see if there are any major flaws with the phone before deciding. I'll be releasing a first impressions video fairly soon after the phone arrives (due to arrive later this week!), so keep an eye out for that. I also plan on doing a review after 3 months of using the phone so I can really give people an idea of whether it's going to be good longer term!
@@arranpbrown Given that the 8 pro is currently £160 more expensive than the S23+ (256gb model), I'll probably wait for a sale. I think that is likely because I've seen them go on sale very often. The lowest I've seen the 7 & 7 pro is £500 & £700 directly from Google. I would have bought the 7 at that price but my friend owns one and the fingerprint scanner fails too often. The one on the Samsung is superior. I hope it's not an issue on the 8.
@phritza yeah, that sounds like a good plan honestly. I have actually seen the Pixel 7 down to £420 on Amazon in the last couple of weeks, which is a pretty crazy price! But good to know about the fingerprint sensor, I'll have to make sure I test that thoroughly. Thanks!
That's a good point! I actually tend to shoot in 24fps anyway, so it shouldn't affect me too much, but I'm definitely also going to miss the pro camera features on the S22 that are only going to be available on the Pixel 8 Pro to set the shutter speed, ISO etc. But PAL would definitely be nice - hopefully a software update could fix that?
@@arranpbrown Nope, not upgrading. I'm really happy with it. I've had it for over 3 years now and it's still working so well. The face unlock is fantastic on it and i also love the design in panda white with the orange coloured power button. It's got such a clean design 😍
@sufyanpatel9706 awesome, that's great to hear it's still running well after 3 years! Yeah, I really liked the coloured power button to be fair - a really nice design!
Yeah, really good point - I was actually aware of that before I bought the phone. I think Google has a lot more control over the design of the chip, even though it's produced by Samsung as well, so I'm hoping they have focussed on efficiency over power to be honest. We'll have to wait and see!
@@arranpbrown I was waiting for the Pixel 8 and still eager for the S24, but I read rumours that the S24 and S24+ will come with Exynos processors 🥲 The Pixel 8 doesn't seem so bad a deal after that. 😂
