I figured I would help The Print Fam start the year off correct with some screen print hacks. For #7 you can and should hit the blank screen with UV light to harden the emulsion. Also test the liquid tape on a few screens before applying it to all of them.

2:36 when I worked at a print shop, I would always have to be with the paint brush filling in all these pin holes. We did giant screens too for large signs, so it was a pretty tedious process.

“I totally just made up that number” 🤣😂 I recently became obsessed with making my own tees simply because my ideas are way more dope than anything I could ever find online or in store (lol kidding) (...sort of 😂) Loved your video. I realize these tips are targeted at printers who have a larger output than little ol me, but I found them useful as well. Thanks! 🤘

I want to start screen printing my graphic designs in my converted shed with water based ink. Can you do a video on the dos and don't of water based ink screenprinting? I know there are different rules for applying and curing but have never seen a full run of a t-shirt from beginning to end. I love your videos!

Like an alternative for an emulsion hardening, i use double-exposure. Second time after rinsing and drying, the same amount of exposure time .

Great stuff! Love the flat white technique! I've been using the spot gun for blowing emulsion out of screens for quite a while, but for accuracy, lay an erasing shield on the screen and use the spot gun through that.

To add to tip #5…If you are trying to spot remove a piece of emulsion in a tight spot you can put a barricade (example-tape a couple of rulers or something around the spot around the spot) in case you are slightly inaccurate on your first couple of shot attempts. I’m only reaping the benefits of tip #1 the last half year but it’s a game changer. Get those thin thread 157/48’s and thank Cam later!

They make stuff to fill up pinholes. I don't know what its actually called but we use this stuff called blocking fluid. Its just like your emulsion trick but I think it just needs to air dry instead of harden like emulsion dose. I also don't know if its different for auto presses or not but your last tip is just a smasher plate. Its a screen with a Teflon coating on the bottom and then instead of a squeegee its a rubber roller. I use it almost every time I am printing white onto cotton or blended shirts.

Where I work most customers will get their prints sans flattening. On occasion, basically when I feel like it, I will post-flatten the screen prints in the transfer press, for maybe five seconds or so. It does make for a nicer feel.

Hey I know you don't know me but I have been watching your video's and sort of became a fan... recently you worked on your exposure unit and I was inspired to rebuild min(ok nothing new or exciting about that) I will be using 32x34 screen frames to make it. will post pics when done... oh the 20x24 frames fit snug inside the bigger frames.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but before you go and liquid tape all your screens, try and reclaim one which you've left the tape around the outside. These act very differently in your washout booth. Some don't mind it, others (your's truly) hate it.
@ThePrintLife
