I own the 325i. I am still in love with it! The negative points you mention are out of topic! -You want acceleration on a 2.0 diesel car of 1.850 kg. Are you serious? Go get the 335i. -You have the diesel version so that’s why you feel it sound like a tractor. In my case the car is completely silent even when it’s open. It’s very quite and peaceful on the road. -The temperature washer is the best thing on this car cause you can set different modes to the car climate. The e9x clima is out of this world. -Where is the point on opening your door when you open the roof? -As far as the Bluetooth is concerned, you can use an even better audio input. Your AUX which is by far a better sound quality solution. The BMW e93 is still one of the most beautiful convertible cars out there. It’s a classic cat and still seductive despite its 10 years age

E93 is an amazing vehicle... Yes it's heavier than the coupe but, with a decent engine (like 330/335i), you can drive the car very dynamically (and sounds very nice at 7000 rpm!) but the car (especially your 320 diesel) is made in general for smooth country-sea side rides, sunset cruises, soft rides, saving fuel, not races!! Take it for what it is. If you try a more powerful engine you will see the difference anyway! For the bluetooth, I have old CCC iDrive and never had any issues, it connects automatically so might be that you have an issue in your specific case, with CIC. Not all the cars are like yours and bluetooth is good! Only bad of the CCC version is that you can stream only phone call but with CIC yoi don't have this proboem. About the temperature control, you better read the manual..with the general big rotary switch you select the cabin temperature of all the car and with the small wheels you can fine tune the temperature of only the air that exits the 2 middle outlets, for a better confort at chest/ face level, but the general car temperature will reach nevertheless what you selected with the rotary knob. Regarding the top, it stops when you open the door because it's a safety feature as can be dangerous, as you can understand, especially in the closing sequence, if you enter/exit the car.. For the traffic light, just wait 10 seconds more until the sequence is finished, or code it to work while moving, but be careful to avoid any pot holes as the mechanism is very precise, heavy and delicate, that's why they want you to operate it while static.. If you get in a hole while top is operating you might bend everything! It's not like a lighter soft top... Firm steering wheel is a common bmw way of producing cars and makes you feel the road and enjoy the ride much more..I honestly never had any trouble daily driving it, and I have much less muscles than you... so this is really a personal thing.. I agree on the locking lights, a bit annoying but you can just press unlock button (so you can see if you are within the key range) and then lock again.. One viewer commented very harsh towards you and is not nice but before making an informative video take some notes from the people that owns this car, spend some time researching about your ignorance on certain systems and safety feature and have a better look at the operating manual so many of your doubts can be cleared and the viewers that that wants to know the car better can have a more solid review... Nevertheless Enjoy open roof rides with this amazing car! Cheers

The cold/hot air switch is for these 2 air blowers only, really helpful in night winter rides when warmth gets you sleepy but you can just blow cold air at your face to keep you up.

I have a 330 E96 Red 2011 import from Germany here in China and live in the beautiful mountains north of Beijing where driving with the roof down on the amazing hairpin rods is the best driving experience ever in the most beautiful convertible car ever. Some of your annoyances are valid but I could put up with a lot more negatives and still be very happy!

The temperature scroll is like the best thing. You can set the car to be at 20 celsius you want colder flow against your body because the sun is hitting you. But still have 20 celsius in the car. Never change temperature anymore. When you got a jacked on you, go to blue, when you feel chilly, go too red. Without changing the temperature at your feet.

Thanks for the tips. I'm looking at getting a 330i E93 and I'm doing some research first. With the temperature controls, my very old 5-series had that and I loved it because it meant I could keep my feet nice and warm but blow cold air in my face to keep me fresh and alert especially when driving at night.

I used bimmercode to change the door open-roof block feature.

At the end of the day, if you you have a convertible and you don't want it to sound like a taxi, you have to go with petrol. My 3 litre petrol does sound a bit diesely when ticking over because it has direct injection, but, open it up and it sounds magnificent. You must choose wether you want economy or a car that howls when accelerating. I personally prefer the sound of the n53 at high revs over the n57 diesel , but it's personal choice.

I have E93 and what i dont like is heavy steering,would be no problem if its my only car ,you would get use to it ,but i have other cars which are no BMW and when i then go to my E93 it feels like i go to gym ,i have manual and is also much harder to change gears then other cars i have...also suspension is very low so not good for bad streets and roads which are everywhere in Serbia ,every few days i would hit something under or a curb , i have gasoline,sound is great ,engine revs so nicely but fuel consumption is bad..in town can be like 15 liter on 100 km ...on highway 130 km/h its 9 liter ..just way 2 much for not so amazing performance ..but i still love the car very much

i have a 3.0 liter no problems with feeling the weight! it goes like a rocket! these car in my opinion needs at least 3.0l.

Dude you pinpointed the real disadvantages of an e93. I have a 2013 328i n/a inline 6 e93 bro and all those things I've experienced. Al though the handling is fine to me. I know bmw put hydraulic steering but in high speeds it good like you also mentioned. The hardtop mechanism dates back to early 07' bro so the concept is understandable why it will stop in middle of retract. Cant drive and drop top etc. dont forget the trunk partition, make sure the whole side trunks are clear😂 the double lock sound is also something I've noticed. Have I locked my damn car? Lol also yes bro. Diesel engines are different from gas. Maybe just modify the exhaust & intake? Any way cheers dude. Coming from southern Cali

I own one, the pre fece-lift one, it is a bit lighter than yours (around 1700 kg) but still kinna heavy for this kind of car. Personally i don’t feel it too much, and when i put the roof down the car seems actually more agile in corners because it doesn’t have the weight of the roof on top but in the trunk. Acceleration is not a big drowback either (at least in my case) since mine is a 3.0 L diesel straight 6 with around 270 hp and around 530 nm so no problem here, of course having a 2.0 diesel and 1800 kg is not the correct recepie for fun but try a 3.0 and you’ll see the difference.

Does it happen that you look back at your video and think "why the heck did i wear that hat??" Btw, that scroll is perfect. If you dont want the hot (or cold) air to blow right to your head, just adjust the scroll and you can "mix" the air that comes out just of the middle air vents. that's what it's supposed to do.

Nice video! I own a E93 335i M-Performance spec 2008 and love the hell out of it! Personally l really like the heavy steering it feels very nice the newer models had active steering which i hear was horrible. The extra weight vs the coup really doesnt matter when you get to 335i territory. Yes it will be slightly quicker but not by much. The 335i engine is just a joy to drive it's quite happy to run around all day a 1,400 rpm but put it in M mode and locate your right foot and OMG! The surge of power right from 1,400rpm all the way to 7,000rpm is just intoxicating. Roof down well what more can l say its just a joy to drive fast or slowly plus the exhaust howl is lovely at higher RPM. Speaking of exhaust the M-Performance uses the same exhaust as the normal M cars so you can guess what that sounds like. As my daily driver l really cant fault it, its refined and quite when you want it to be but becomes a beast when you pock it with a stick best of both worlds plus its not M car prices for parts and servicing and the fuel economy isnt to bad either.

If you want better sound you should buy a petrol and change the exhaust+map for pop's and bangs Problem solved 😬

I agree with most of these complaints. The Bluetooth annoys me bc I can connect my phone but not listen to music. Just make phone calls. Idk if you guys have OBD2 where you are but you can just get an OBD2 WiFi adapter and use a program to adjust the speed setting of the drop top. Along with how fast you can go and drop the top at the same time.

I agree with everything you said. I have an e93 325i. I think the steering is sensitive but gives you no feedback. It's a heavy car but much better with the six cylinder petrol engine. The problem I want to add is that I feel that the cars structural integrity is weak when the roof is down. It is much better when the roof is up.
