7 Villains Who Were a Lot Cooler Than You, Unfortunately 

These villains had no right to be so much cooler than you, the player character. Honestly, the cheek of it. Can you think of any other kickass villains we missed? Let us know in the comments, and enjoy!

I'd add Andrew Ryan and Pagan Min to this list. Ryan was this large inescapable force with a booming voice who was, even in death, calm, cool, and collected. And Pagan manages to pull off a pink suit... very few people can pull off a pink suit.

I mean... Sephiroth. Cloud is an ex-nobody who imagines that he's cool because he's got the worst case of amnesia ever, Sephiroth is straight up the most badass SOLDIER ever who looks cool, talks cool and is going to destroy the planet. Bad. Ass.

Pagan Min from Far Cry 4 was also cooler than the protagonist.... and the other 2 "good" guys (Even if one of them is voiced by Naveen Andrews)

Handsome Jack is my all time favorite character from borderlands 2, followed by tiny Tina and mad moxxi

Not sure if she qualifies as a villain but Nadine is such a badass that she can fend off not 1 but 2 Drake brothers. Man I wish we can play her in her own successful franchise of games. Nathan Drake himself admits that Nadine is a badass.

What about GLaDOS? I mean....she can sing, she can do all manners of science and she has more wit than thought possible. All Chell has is a cool gun and boots?!

Although the Outsider isn't technically the bad guy (except in Death Of The Outsider), he is infinitely more badass and mesmerizing than I will ever be.

What about Corypheus from Dragon Age: Inquisition? He had crystal shards in his face, he raised an army of demons, he resurrected himself and became known as "The Elder One". He also controls a dragon! Plus, he has that super sexy deep voice....

What about Pagan Min from Far cry 4? From the moment you met him you wanted to side with him, just be careful of the Crab Rangoon.

Vaas is a character that, once Ubisoft realized how much the fans enjoyed his character and personality, tried to imitate that for every villian in the future Far Cry games.

Jane for sure should be #1 in this list! She even has her own warcry now. Eldritch Blast! Eldritch Blast!

Haytham kenway in AC3, he just looked cooler and acted cooler as well.

Not QUITE a villain so much as antagonist, but Haytham Kenway, the one bright spot of AC3.

Ganondorf. Especially in Windwaker where Link is a dimwitted kid and Ganondorf is the dual Katana-wielding master of a giant bird.

Shodan from the System Shock series is cooler than anybody. In my opinion.

Stefano Valentini from The Evil Within 2 was pretty damn cool with his fancy suit, leather gloves, camera and cool knife. Plus his powers were pretty badass like being able to trap people in time loops and summon camera monsters.

"9ft of dress sense and fireballs" sounds like the world's greatest tinder profile.

Catwoman is a cool villain, who is also a hot villain, who is also a cool antihero, who is also a hot antihero. Seriously Catwoman, why do you have to go and make things so complicated?

What about Albert Wesker. Style and sunglasses, plus without him the events of resident evil 1, 2, and 3 would have been just writing parking tickets in a boring city.

No love for GLaDOS? As cool as Chell is, that giant, passive aggressive, sarcastic robot is at least 65% of the reason Portal and Portal 2 did so well. Also she'll live forever if no one else kills her, which is a lot longer than Chell.

80% of viewers picked Jane as the best villain in OX. The others may need to watch their backs for elaborate and probably painful super villain style revenge involving physics wizardry 📢📢📢 (Airhorn, Airhorn)

I remember my first play through of Dishonored 2. By the end of the game I had dumped enough runes into bone charm crafting so that I had ten uber-powerful bone charms. This turned the tense final battle with Delilah into a Benny Hill routine of her falling over after each teleportation and me kicking her in the gut.

Ra’s Al Ghul from Arkham City was the coolest- from his sword, to his glowing tattoos, to his immortality, to his willingness to sacrifice his own daughter in order to get Batman to lead his armies. Ok, maybe not that last part, but the rest was awesome 😃

I nominate: Vergil (Devil May Cry) Wesker (Resident Evil) Ghirahim (LOZ) Sephiroth (Final Fantasy) Alduin (Skyrim) Dark Link (LOZ) And the whole Wild Hunt from the Witcher 3. I mean, just look at them!

While Edgeworth is cool (infact he's cool enough for my keyboard to recognize his name while slide typing), I would say he isn't quite as cool as Phoenix. If you had said Godot, then I would said fine then. Like Edgeworth, Godot is cool enough for my keyboard AND he is the only prosecutor to show major growth in one game without it happening because exposition came back to haunt them (see the DL-6 case (that Phoenix solves in like 5 minutes (and Edgeworth couldn't solve in 15 years))) AND he can drink so much coffee any normal mortal would die instantly from too much caffeine. Plus Godot survived being poisoned by something so deadly that less than 5 ml is shown to kill someone.

Slave Knight Gael in Dark Souls 3 is much cooler than the protagonist, the unkindled ash. Gael was a frail slave knight who helps a gifted child to paint a new world (with the Dark Soul as paint), free from the firelinking curse for humanity. How many times has anyone here died in the ringed city dlc? Well, Gael stormed the city and claimed the revered Dark Soul of humanity. Us? We failed to link the fire, were burnt to ash and were only resurected because the last people resurected didn't want to burn to death twice.

What about Haytham Kenway in Assassin's Creed 3? He is much cooler than Connor, although that's not very hard to beat...

I think Emily and Corvo made the right choice in not wearing their carnations to the anniversary of Jessamine's assassination. You'll note that her coven all have plant and/or animal based powers - gravehounds, thorns in their version of Windblast, the giant roots, walking through bloodfly nests unpreturbed, etc. As for her void powers, it's left somewhat ambiguous as to how much of that comes from her Mark and how much of that comes from long years devoted to witchcraft. Corvo and Emily have their Mark, runes and bonecharms behind them. Delilah and her coven have all sorts of sinister rituals, developing magical pigments for her painting magic, processes for creating the gravehounds and such (there's at least one conversation on how difficult it is to make gravehounds and how so-and-so is currying favor by making a lot of them, etc). It's kinda like the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer in DnD - Delilah derives power from learning how to make stuff happen, Emily and Corvo just... make stuff happen. (one could raise the argument that the Outsider's Mark makes them all Warlocks (and probably Great Old One patroned Warlocks at that).) I think I'd have liked Dishonored 2 a little more if it hadn't taken most of the game to indicate that there's a legit reason she's around after the Witches of Brigmore DLC. The full reveal would have been a bit much, but at least something to indicate "No we haven't forgotten Witches of Brigmore and explanations will be coming, trust us." The closest thing we got was Meghan, who is recognizable from the good old days, but that just leaves us more confused than ever.

I have to admit, killing Handsome Jack was EXTREMELY satisfying. Wiping that smug grin off of his face after what he did to Lilith and Bloodwing was cathartic as heck.

I was really hoping to see Jack of Blades from Fable/ Fable- The Lost Chapters. That guy is wayyyyy cooler than any of the heroes in the game.

This is an unpopular opinion but Ardyn Izunia, from the MOMENT he appears in Kingsglaive he is full to the very brim with sass, charm and the approximate contents of a literal trashbag. The longer you get into FFXV, the more this whole scheme unveils and, I'll be honest, I found him way more cool than he should be. Sure, our protagonists have their traits and all that.. But Ardyn Izunia, Chancellor of Niflheim takes my cake

Honestly I agree with a good amount of the choices and reasoning but come on Ellen flowers on the goth witches outfits being cooler than Emily and corvo outfits have you gone mad?! I mean I get that the her skills pay the bills but she does not look better than the father daughter dream team.

To be fair, if you chose krieg the psycho as the character in borderlands, you are literally more badass than handsome jack :P
