I love the irony of the scene where the Charger goes over the edge of the quarry. With cars blowing up for no reason in chases, these guys decided to have the Charger fall backwards into an explosives shed. Now THAT's a reason to explode...

I always love to watch Bullit, thinking to myself that Ford Mustang lovers think that the pretty, limp wristed green Mustang with the 390 outran the Charger R/T 440 in real life. LMAO Sorry, a 390 was no match for those brutish 440 Magnums. You didn't need to modify Chargers R/Ts to get them to do donuts in the parking lot on street tires. The Charger that crashed into the gas station in the movie was a 318 car. The other one that was a real R/T survived the movie and is still in existence and restored. It was a 440-4bbl. car with 3:55 Sure Grip and 4 speed trans. That was an ideal drive train for all-around driving on city streets or highways for the Bullit movie. Thanks for showing us these clips!

R.I.P. all these Dodge Chargers. May our replicas of you be accurate enough to continue your big-block legacies.
