I love that Sonic Blast Man‘s solution to „train driving towards lady“ is not to move the lady to safety, but instead to destroy the entire train, presumably killing everyone onboard that train. Good job, hero.

Honestly, that doesn’t surprise me. If Hulk Hogan can get an animated TV show, I’m pretty sure just about anyone and anything can. I think Chuck Norris got one too but neither of their shows were popular enough to still be around today. Plus, you know, there’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World, which started as a comic then got a movie and a video game (not sure what came out second though).

In the movie ''Hausu'' there's a pre-trained martial artist among the group of 6 girls trapped in the haunted house. Obviously she kicks the ever-loving crap out of various ghostly apparitions... They literally named the character 'Kung Fu' just in case we'd ever be mistaken as to the characters role in the story

i recall a weird game that isn't a beat-up up more of a platformer but it was trippy as hell. It's called pandemonium where you were either an insane magic wielding jester that also carried a possessed jester head stick or a underage teen acrobatics wizard which tbh the plot was like a drug trip. like they caused the apocalypses with wishes or something. it even spawned a sequel as weird as that sounds.

A side scrolling 4 player beat-'em-up, you play one of 4 baseball-playing robots out to rescue various artefacts stolen from the Baseball Hall Of Fame. The baddies are giant robot baseball mitts and baseballs, the smartbombs are cheerleaders and the first end of level boss is an anthropomorphic aeroplane that you fight inside an aeroplane.

7 Games/Series that had unusual arcade adaptations. You could start with F-Zero and Megaman. F-Zero had an arcade cabinet that allowed you to insert your Gamecube memory card and use unlocked drivers from your console. Megaman has several arcade-style games, where it's much closer to a boss rush. They were even adapted into the recent Megaman X and Megaman Zero collections.

It was never completely confirmed by Capcom. By in a soft way, he did, if you looked at NES Capcom manuals back them, there would be a message from Captain Commando thanking the player for buying a Capcom game.

It's good fun but's jank as fuck in terms of handling. Pulling off moves is a matter of luck more than skill. If you're interested, there's a freeware version of it called NightSlashers X.

@@Sableagle I repeat, PETA sucks. A number of years ago (early 2000's) they tried to pass a bill through Congress that would ban the sales of non native species in the pet trade. Meaning no tropical birds, fish, no exotic pets like igaunas, hamsters, ect. This would have been disasterous for RESPONSIBLE pet owners and the people and industries who cater to their needs. Now you can see one more reason PETA sucks so much. They are HYPOCRITES.

Used to play Captain Commando a lot many years back. I usually used Mack the Knife. The thing we really loved about the game was seeing Baby Head get piledrivered. Seeing a huge robot being controlled by a baby where the head should be, being dropped on its head, was just too damn funny.

It's a little known fact that, if one were to correctly repeat the incantation "DROP DAY-ED YEW SHKUUM!" before having a woman toss a German stielhandgranate, then it will, in fact, produce a gigantic "SHBROOM!" which itself causes rocket launchers to suddenly materialise nearby. 5 points to Hufflepuff.

I'm impressed that there were seven things weirder than the Simpsons beat-em-up, where the final boss is Montgomery Burns in a power armour suit that throws nukes at you.

Awesome video, The early 90s were indeed the era of the beat em up! Maximum Carnage, the Punisher and Alien Storm were some of my favourites as a kid.
