I come on this channel and usually just watch. I am a former professional chef and pastry chef so I know how to cook very well ready - but you make some things that just take me back to my childhood and it feels so nice to watch someone make this stuff. I'm usually good and I can resist going in my kitchen and making this stuff, but imma be bad with this one. Imma make this cake and not carb shame myself about it. Yes, ma'am. My mother made this cake for years, but she used the juice from the strawberries, then added whatever water she needed. She also made orange cake like this with cream cheese frosting.

Mmmm me to! Strawberries, Pineapple, Coconut are my 3 top fruits to eat! Then Blackberries, Blueberries, Oranges, Apples etc...Not necessarily in that order! Lol. My mouth is watering so bad now! Lol.

Oh Tami! I made this cake last weekend at my family's house in Central Coast CA for birthday party. It was a huge success, everyone loved it! We used the extra strawberry juice for Champagne Cocktails. They were a huge hit too! Nothing went to waste & I am so happy to report everyone wanted your recipe!!!! I bet you could use the strained strawberry juice from the frosting instead of water in the cake mix. I hope I didn't offend anyone by giving a different idea. I always think outside the box.

@@NanaonHazel Coconut and pecans! I can so see that! I'd use them as decorations on top, maybe also with pretty slices of fresh strawberries if I had any. But my thought about the strawberry juice would be to thicken it a bit into a sauce, to drizzle over the cake as another layer of color and flavor!

My Grandmother Cox used to make this delicious cake. After she passed away, we hopped to find her recipe so we could carry on the tradition. We found it and it was an old Jello recipe!

I made this cake (two as a matter of fact) this weekend. OMG it was so moist and delicious! Tammy I must say you do not lie when you tell how good these recipes are! And your directions are on point and easy to follow. I have never been one for baking desserts unless they come out of a box, but now Im cooking so many good foods because of you and others on youtube. We ate that cake like it was going out of style!!!! its so light, moist and bursting with delicious fresh strawberry taste that you just don't want to stop eating it! Lord help me not to gain weight! lol

When your cake is done, still warm & still in the pan, punch holes in the cake with a big fork & pour that excess strawberry syrup you saved from the strawberries, pour that over your cake. The syrup will soak into your cake & be REALLY moist. Than frost with the strawberry frosting...that’s a strawberry-a-holic’s dream come true.

I don't know, that sounds like it would make the cake soggy? It appears really moist already. I think I would add a sprinkle of corn starch into the strawberry juice and cook it until it thickened a bit, then drizzle it over the icing as a decorative sauce.

We made this recipe and it's wonderful!! We then used mandrin oranges instead of strawberry on another time. We used an orange cake mix instead of white. And orange gelatin. It's was also wonderful!!

Well! I could not find any frozen strawberries with sugar at any of my grocery stores. So, i used a can of strawberry pie filling I had in my pantry. to my surprise it worked really well! I pick out the remaining strawberries left and added some frozen strawberries that were in a berry mix I had in the freezer and defrosted them and mixed with can ones with some of the thick strawberry filling for frosting and it came out perfect, I actually had too much frosting left over. The cake came out moist and not overly sweet either. Glad I took a chance and improvised using the strawberry can filling. Everyone loved it! ate it up! Thanks Tammy!!! Love your channel! Can't wait to make your peanut butter bars!!
