Made your cake and took it to a birthday party where there was already a HUGE strawberry cake from our local bakery. Your cake dominated. It was gone in minutes. Not a crumb left. Everybody complimented me. And a few wanted your recipe. Thank you for making me shine! :)

Hey Tammy! I made this cake this evening for my wife who had ever heard of this cake before. OMG! I was transported to the fellowship hall of the church I grew up in!!! My wife squealed with delight. Prayers for your Mama and for you. I lost my own mom 6 weeks ago. She would be 90 next month but she was tired and shes in heaven with my daddy now. I pray for healing and comfort for your mom and your family.

I can’t believe I stumbled across this video. My mom started making this cake about 1973! Got the recipe from a friend and it became a staple at all our family functions and holidays until she couldn’t cook anymore. Then I started making it. My mom usually made her icing a little runny more like a drizzle. Always beautiful! Prayers for your mom. Please be sure to take care of yourself during this time. I was in your shoes a few years ago. Caregiving is a labor of love. Lots of love to you.

Kathy Bullard Yeah I’ve done that a few times through a few things that I viewed on RU-vid. I think you just hit the same thing over and it reverses itself. What I love about these videos particularly by collard Valley cooks is when they make a mistake or missing ingredients, they do not edit the footage out and I like that

I made you Strawberry Cake this morning, WOW!!!!! My entire kitchen smelled like Strawberries. The cake was so beautiful after mixing it together, then when it came out of the oven Oh my goodness.......I left the house just so I wouldn't be tempted to do anything until it cooled, when I got back and frosted this beauty, I felt like Betty Crocker only better. Looks so delicious! I took care of my mom for 3 1/2 years before she died (after my dad died) and I know what it's like to juggle so much. I always said between us both we had a different doctor for every body part! Praying for her. Rest some if you ever can. You are an amazing woman. Can't wait to try this!

I was trying to find a strawberry cake for my sister she loves them this looks like a good one. I live in Georgia too I make my Chicken and Dumplings just like you do. My whole family loves them my sweet Granny taught me how to make them. I sure miss her. Watching you cook reminds me of my Granny and my Mama. I learned to cook from them.

I made a mess of the icing about 5 times till I figured out to make it in the stand mixer. Makes it perfect every time. Substitute the water for the strawberry juice in the cake mix. Best cake ever. Going through the same with my mother. God bless us all, it's so, so hard.

Linda Hastings so I get this right, you measure out a half cup of the juice and use it? The berries are juicy too. Do you let the berries strain, kind of like when we use crushed pineapple? Thanks tons! PS, am thinking if I get the icing too thin I could poke holes in the cake, not tons of them like with a poke cake, but a few and let some of that wonderful icing kind of soak into the cake just a tad. I must admit, I manage to mess things up sometimes. Am 70 years old so reckon I am kind of entitled. Haha xxx

I will make that but always make a strawberry cake and pour jello with some berries in it over cake after cooking with holes and cool whip and can garnish with strawberries on top. I never have a problem getting is of either. This I have to keep cold so firm with jello in it and your’s you could leave out for longer if didn’t get ate right away. I love to make cdd as cakes with mixes and the you can do anything to your taste. I watch your show quite a bit and others but, seem to go to yours most. I have learned a few new things and wakened up some I had stored away. I enjoy so keep up your good work.

Hi Tammy! So sorry to hear about your Mom. We have her on a prayer list along with you & your family 'cause it's just not an easy situation. My crew loves this cake! It's been a while since I've made it but will have to pick up some fresh strawberries tomorrow and cake mix whip up a treat for my crew. I've made this as a layer cake as well as using a Bundt cake pan. There's never any left over! Thanks for another video, y'all! Great job! 👍

After much experimenting, the best result I've gotten with this recipe is to use 2 (9oz) boxes of Jiffy white cake mix . Everything else is same as your recipe. You're the best cook on you tube!
