This video exemplifies the problem with being anything less than a full on whale who will spend until they get what they want. I'm having a similar experience; general pool pulls have like a 70%~ chance to be useless because so many of the weapons from it are already OB10. I hope they make some changes to the game so that we're able to do something after OB10 because every 5* you get that's already OB10 is a knife to the gut.
Most of my weapons aren't ob10, majority aren't even ob6, so I personally don't experience this issue, but for some reason game loves giving me 5* copies of those few weapons I already have at ob10 or insists on giving me copies of weapons we never use because they're just bad. And just a small % is something useful. I still think if you get a dupe for ob10, but it's a good one you often use, it's not so bad at least. But yeah, would be nice if they improved the system.
What I find is the game seems to give more of certain weapons every few months, while some weapons almost never appear. It took ages for me to OB10 Edge wings at first, but as soon as it's maxed, I got 3 more copies in less than 250 pulls. I also had a lot of twinkling stars and electro cannon dropping, but not even 1 part for Radiant edge in 400+ pulls. I think your video and some other youtubers videos are evidence of this. Multiple copies of certain weapons, while others don't seem to exist. Also end of last year I had a lot of crimson blade dropping, but haven't seen a single one for 7 months. Heard some people went through 3 pages on the limited Vincent banner and not get 1 non-guarantee copy. Some weapons just refuse to show up even at higher rates, that's why I hate limited weapons because you can get screwed badly.
You have an interesting experience, Aaron. For me it's been very consistent that ticket/free pulls barely ever give me anything good, mostly just random weapons I would never want to use, so I heavily rely on banner wishlist (and daily weapon parts requests we get every 3 days) to do some progress on desired weapons. I kinda like limited banners because they have increased amounts of guaranteed copies, so if you'd pull 3 pages, 95% you'll end up with ob6, if you choose same weapon. On normal banners we only have 2 guaranteed copies in 3 pages, and knowing how unlucky the banners can be, I never pull past the outfit on those featured banners and rather wishlist those weapons in the future. And yeah, on every banner some people have amazing luck and some people are being screwed over. On LB Vincent I had 3 friends pull and watched their pulls. 2 had amazing luck. Moogle got ob10 in 2 pages (he bought the guaranteed copies, parts, etc. so he had ob7+ when he completed page2), the other spent literally 33k crystals but also bought guaranteed copies and ended with ob9. Our last friend just had barely decent luck, got a lot wishlist copies, but barely any White Dog and ob6 cost her around 70k crystals and 4 pages. But then my friend Moogle has consistent amazing luck every time he pulls and it's infuriating. I'm happy for him but what about the rest of us?
there's a too many weapons in the game now and they're adding more and more. I think there needs to be some kind of general wish list for tickets. It doesn't have to be as strong as the banner wish list but at least some bonus
I don't mind the weapon pool expanding because we may need those weapons in the future. But with such huge pool, it's very weird when you get the same weapon over and over and over again. A small ticket wishlist would be more than great.
Anybody know if you can draw a 5 star copy of a weapon if it is already at OB10 +20? Because at that point you should be able to just trade that copy in for a different 5 star weapon, imo.
If you ob10+20 nothing changes. You can still get copies of that weapon and they'll be useless. You could exchange them for medals but they're useless because you can exchange them only for grindstone chunks.
Oh the pain. How can I enjoy that much suffering? I mean I usually get similar results and you did get a bunch of solid sub weapons. But not one Tempest? I hope your next banner pulls will be better.. 🙈
... and then there's me who doesn't really build Water Seph who gets his first copy of it from a daily pull 😅 but I gotta agree that the pulls looked a bit sussy from the repeats (for example Butterfly Edge, Heavy Hauser and Microlaser)
I didn't have high expectations but I mainly saved those tickets to get some progress on Sephiroth. It's Sephiroth, so I must. Congrats, So0L. I am very happy for you but also jealous. All recent 49 free pulls were atrocious for me and these new ones aren't any better. HH, Butterfly Edge and Microlaser actually weren't bad. But why did I get 4 Barn Swallows or 5 Edged Wings. Why, EC. With such huge weapon pool I expected bigger variety in drops. Most of them, even 3-4* were same weapons over and over again. Weird. I hope all our luck will increase
I got few weapon upgrades like a copy of Centipede, Syringe or Microlaser, etc. but dunno why game would give me 4-5 copies of Barn Swallow, Edged, etc. if we have so many weapons in the pool. I just expected a bit more from 1300 tickets I used. Tempest isn't the greatest but still a nice support dps for Sephiroth, and I wanted my Sephy to be good.
Not once have I ever claimed to be f2p but I am very far away from a whale, same for the guild I am in - I have no influence over name of the guild I am part of. I have red crystals because I occasionally buy a pack a month and that's it. I just hoard those crystals for months and not spend them freely. Whales buy out entire stores and normally have almost no blue crystals because they pull multiple pages on almost every banner and they just operate mainly on red crystals and pull either with them or premium tickets. If I was a whale I would have 0 blue crystals and almost all of my weapons would be ob6-10+. In reality most of my weapons are below ob6 and those few weapons I have at ob10 are because I spent months on wishlisting them in those few banners I decided to pull on. I also skip most banners to hoard crystals. Personally I wouldn't even dare to compare myself to a whale.
