You have to use a 'hardwire kit' for parking monitoring.

But two different dashcams need two different power ports, two separate memory cards, separate wiring, and separate access via the app. Also if and when required, syncing the videos from the front and rear dashcams to match each other is extra work. If all this is okay with you, go ahead!

If you connect with Nexdigitron service (authorised sales and service partner for 70mai in India) via WhatsApp and enquire regarding separate availability of the rear camera, they can provide you the latest info on this.

I would always recommend a dual setup over a single front only setup. So based on your options the Nexdigitron Prime is a better choice. It has a decent number plate readability, gets obd2 hardwire kit, and gets battery protection features as well. Fuse hardwire kit or obd2 kit, don't technically void the warranty. But based on your car manufacturer's policy regarding hardwire kit, it might. So, enquire with your car manufacturer about it, as this changes from OEM to OEM.

Not a drastic difference as the distance from direct mounting to suction mount mounting isn't that great.

But how often have you heard of dashcams catching fire spontaneously or bursting suddenly? Well, I haven't seen or read any news like that. 2. I have been personally using a battery based dashcam since 3+ years without any issues. I park outside in the sun most of the times. 3. Dashcams with battery do not run on battery (Yes that's true). They run on DC current supplied via the power cable. The battery in dashcams is used only to maintain time and to help the dashcam finish recording the last video file when the power is suddenly cut off (when you turn off the car). 4. Dashcams with battery get a standard one year warranty. So in the rare event of any issue with the normal functioning of the dashcam (no electronic product in the world in problem proof), you can apply for a free replacement.

​Thanks for replying in details. But, I was not talking about catching fire. I had faced issues with Gopro which was fixed on dashboard. It stopped working midway as the battery got heated due to direct sunlight through windshield. Once the battery cooled down, it started working again. It happened a number of times. And that Gopro was connected with the charger through 12V socket too. That's why I was asking whether the same issue might happen to this dashcam or not. I am thinking of installing a dashcam. I just want to be sure prior to buying. The one with Li ion battery, or, the one with Super Capacitor?

Nope!! Installing a dash cam never voids the warranty of a car

Using a dashcam via the 12v socket does not void the warranty of the car.

A510 has parking mode. Check if you have done hardwiring properly. Set the parking mode using the on screen settings.

Yes. But it's extra work. Two separate power ports, two separate memory cards, two separate additions to the app which cannot be accessed simultaneously. Also when required, extra work to sync the front dashcam video to the rear dashcam. I find this inconvenient.

It's not necessary to hardwire dashcam. Hardwiring is done only if you need parking monitoring. If not, forget about hardwiring. 3. Yes, this and almost all dashcams can be used via just connecting to 12V power socket of the car 4. All dashcams heat up after long journey, especially those dashcams which record high quality 4K or 3K videos. This is a normal feature of the dashcam and it's built to withstand the heat. Nothing to be worried about. 5. If hardwiring is done, then the dashcam uses battery power to record videos when the car is off. Hence when used with hardwiring kit for many years, the lifespan of the battery decreases. What generally takes about 5 years to replace a battery, you might have to do it after 4 years. So at the cost of reducing 1 year of battery life, you would have got about 4 years worth of parking monitoring of your car.

It's not necessary but it's recommended. Main reason being, when you are driving out or even when you are just parked your car, you can never guess from where the next accident or incident might happen with your car. What if some car bumps you from behind(most common) and you don't have a rear camera? In such cases, the front only camera is quite useless. So based on these aspects you should decide if you should or should not buy a rear camera.
