I enjoy your videos brother. You make it look mad easy. I am doing a Ls3/4L80 swap in My 03' Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I just dropped the block at the machine shop. I got the block real cheap is the only reason I got it lol. Otherwise it would be a 5.3L or a 6.0L.
Maybe I missed it in one of your videos but where did you get the transmission crossmember? Love the videos man they are really easy to follow and you do the perfect amount of talking. Just givin us the facts! Im in the process of swapping my 85 with a 5.3 and its my first swap so your videos are a God send!
Hey bro love your video I was just wondering if you can shoot me the parts list you used although I'm doing a 6.0/4l80 swap I don't know how much difference between 5.3 n 6.0 is anyways I'm definitely seeing your video 5-10 times over n over till I do my swap thnx
I’m t glad the videos are helping the ls swapped green c10 video has all the links click on more right under the title and you can see all links ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3BRI84MXS90.htmlsi=jrdoTCCkFtQWfzss
I'm going to get started on this swap next week on my '74. It also is a 250 straight 6 (3-spd manual). Picked up a VERY good running '99 silverado (5.3/4L60E) with 136k miles for the swap. Wrecked in the front so I got it cheep cheep. Anyway, my question is, why do y'all separate the engine and trans prior to installing/mounting into the truck VS just dropping both the engine & trans in already bolted up as a whole? I'm not asking you this with intentions of being a know it all jerk-off because this is obviousley not y'alls first rodeo (y'all know what y'all are doing). Will it not clear the firewall/radiator core support etc with the engine/trans still being bolted together? Also, my 74 is also a non factory ac truck unfortunately. Will I be able to make the '99 ac stuff work with this "vintage air" deal you speak of? Cuz the AC in the 99 donor truck is absolutely ice ICE cold and beings that's I'm down in Texas, I'd like to utilize it. Thanks in advance (and thanks for the videos). Certainly not my first drive train swap but this will be my first LS swap (and swap on a C10 hence the question of separating the engine/trans prior to installation).
We usually have the trans already removed to reseal the motor but it is a easier install this way. The swap ac compressor will work but you will have to adapt the lines to the trucks lines
