Too bad these dashboards don't come with a adapter plug kinda like you can get for a car stereo for those of us that don't want to cut the crap out if the stalk Wiring.
Hi Tony, with the various configurations of clusters across the 14 year span of these trucks, there is not a “plug and play” solution. Depending on the original truck build there are different pinouts and wire functions for the clusters- with/without clock or tach, location of fuel gauge, etc. Additionally, the connection between the cluster housing and flexible circuit board wasn’t always the most reliable and we don’t want to build off that. For these two reasons, we feel the best way to get a reliable, correct connection is by splicing into the harness.
Is this a brand new cluster? (The blue part) like a legit whole piece? My clusters are broken and other digital dash brands require that you put in the new gauges into your existing housing. Is yours the same? Or is it a whole new cluster
Yes, this is a brand new cluster with the blue housing and gauges already assembled as one piece. You have to re use your existing dash bezel (silver trim piece) and your existing gear indicator as those two pieces are not included.
Hi 123brexy, All the necessary sending units are included, however the cluster is designed to reuse the stock fuel sending unit or any aftermarket fuel sender (purchased separately) with the built-in ohm range selector switch. The speedometer is electric and the product works with HEI. Thank you!
123brexy, go to Dakota Digital, there are no wires no cables to jack with, straight up sic clusters in every color, you just have to check it out, or YT it here
Hello, Do you have the electrical diagrams for the instrument panel of the s10 Blazer 94 and the s10 / SONOMA / Blazer 90 - 97? What can you provide me please? I have a 94 Chevrolet Blazer with a digital instrument panel. I want to change the instrument panel for an old school panel that is supposed to be for S10 / Blazer / SONOMA 90-97, the connector of this panel is 26 pins with number A091493
Hello Cesar, We do not have access to original instrument cluster wiring diagrams because we are a manufacturer of aftermarket instruments. However, we could provide an aftermarket replacement dash insert with our instruments or we could update your cluster with our electronics in our retrofit department. To further discuss these options, please call us at 1 (800)575-0461 or email info@classicinstruments.com.
Hi Charmaine, the cluster utilizes the factory gear selector that connects to the steering column and re-uses the factory part. With a manual transmission this part is not on the original cluster and omitted. The speedometer is electronic so it can read from a VSS on the transmission if it has one, or use the supplied pulse generator which mounts where the speedometer cable attached.
Hi Douglas, the part number for this is CT73OE. Check it out on our website at the link for more details! shop.classicinstruments.com/oe-style-1973-87-chevygmc-truck-package
Hello, thank you for reaching out! The link below has some good information on removal. www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/how-to-remove-the-instrument-cluster.14913/
He kept saying square body. In 1987 it was advertised as the new round body, due to tje sides of the hood, and the top of the roof had round edges. Read old brochures, and manuals. If you going to talk about them read about them first. I know my 87 R20 like crazy, I've also been restoring it so that's why I know my truck so well. But, I will say this that is reinstalled alot better than the OEM cluster. Thank you for atleast keeping the original look. I greatly appreciate that. Job well done. Its beautiful to see.others keeping these trucks in good condition. I love that blue.
