Welcome back everybody! I hope you enjoy the continuation of our journey together? I struggled with the text on the Thumbnail a little - I went with 'Rebel Yell' as I listened to the song during the day - can you suggest anything better?!

Watching this great adventure from the lush winelands around Stellenbosch!

Lovely area! I spent 6 weeks completely rewiring my Landy at Mettes Auto Electrical in Stellenbosch with Claus, Henk and the rest of the great team there in 2019, I enjoyed the experience! Previously I stayed with a chap called Louie and neighbour Hennie out near Wellington in 2010, its always been a friendly area for me - so many Landies around! :-) Thanks for leaving a comment!

Hey Darrin, we bumped into you about 15 months or so ago in Hwange National park. before you headed back into Botswana and you shared some interedable stories in the 20 minutes we were chatting. So glad to see the RU-vid channel up and running and love your story telling. Happy travels! Paul and Lucy, Australia

Watching from central London, where the desert seems so far away. I was reminiscing earlier this evening about an amazing trip I took some years ago through the desert near Wadi Rum and then on through Syria and Iran, so this video with the big big skies and broad horizons reminded me of that. The clouds in some clips looked just like cotton wool!

Thanks mate. I left some of the shots quite long and open, so that people had a chance to experience their own thoughts and feelings before the story moved on.... glad it worked in your case :-) Thanks for the continued support and encouragement.

I'm loving the series, Darrin. You're a natural story-teller! I'm very tempted to jump in my own faithful Defender and head for the nearest port!

Watching from Wellington in the Winelands - and so jealous, awesome adventure!
@roamingyak
@roamingyak Год назад
Thanks Iris!! But I'd suggest you visit your doctor or find some relaxing herbs - this is very much just the warm up episodes, your jealousy might become toxic as both my filming and editing get better! I've filmed 10 series that are waiting to be edited... I stayed with a chap called Louie and neighbour Hennie out near Wellington in 2010 on my 3 year trip around Africa, it was a safe haven of rest and calm on a very long trip... ;-)

Happy days, a new video from Darrin.....great content as usual. Those wide open spaces are hard to capture on film, but if you've experienced it your video evokes those memories. Top job mate, and I think your grandparents would be well proud of you and what you do. Roll on the next episode.

A secret just between you an me - I was a bit scared to change lens on my camera at this stage, so didn't use my zoom lens much, as I was always worried about getting dust on the sensor. I really was a complete beginner ;-)

One more thought from Texas- I have had the good fortune to visit Namibia five times and no matter how remote we were we always saw plenty of Oryx,jackals,springboks, and giraffes. I have not noticed any on this drive…have you seen anything? Thanks very much( not to the end of the video yet so maybe spoke too soon)
@roamingyak

Both beautiful areas! I had to fly into Las Vegas a while ago for business - all I could think of all week was "I want to be out in that beautiful desert!" There isn't too much water in this area, so only a few animals around - more about it in the next episode...

Hello from Florida Love your videos from Namibia We visited Kaokoland in 2021 You just drove past a Stone Sculpture of a “Lonely Man of Kaokoland “ it’s in episode 8 Timestamp 21.33 He is sitting on the rocks on your left. If I can find your email address I’ll send you the picture I took there sitting next to him 😀sorry you missed him but he’s not the only one….keep your eyes open

Thanks Harry, nice of you to reach out. Overall, I'm not really a fan on them as I feel we have very few places on the earth that are untouched by humans in some way and we should work hard to preserve them. Kind regards, Darrin
