I find that when i am unhappy with my body (e.g. after gaining a bit of weight), I have "nothing to wear" because nothing looks the way they once did on me, no matter how much the style or colour suit me. Good motivation to get in better shape so I can enjoy my closet again 😁

I love your new haircut, so gorgeous and classy. I have cleared out my closet ( clothes that I no longer wear) and feels so much better! I sold Poshmark and gave to family/ friends.

I think every time we do it, it gives us a better sense of what works for us. We learn so much from it and of course, create the habit of making more intentional purchases in the future ☺️ I love Posh too!

Omg Mila, you’re looking 🔥 with that new haircut! Great look on you! Totally agree with you on what you mention here.. specially knowing my palette and shopping for my current style and self has made the biggest difference in being intentional with my clothes. A lot easier to shop and even easier to find outfits whenever you need one - look at your closet and there it is, almost everything matches! It’s so cool that this video came out today, as I’ve just finished journaling my closet to start detoxing from the pieces that aren’t in my style range anymore, and also understand what I need to only have things in my style that I can wear all the time and in years and years. Excellent advice, especially about the colors, finally narrowing down my best colors was a game changer. I used to have shoes in browns, blues, blacks and beiges. When I finally realized I am a bright winter I have gotten rid of all the brown and beige clothes and shoes and now have mainly black, silver and some navy shoes. It makes space for flattering items and everything matches, it’s like a big capsule wardrobe. I used to especially have trouble with travel because I had a mish mash of a wardrobe that I would have trouble matching even a small travel capsule. I also figured out I am a kibbe dramatic classic which was also a game changer. I feel so much better dressed now.

Great tips. I have a pretty tight color palette, it helps a lot. If I do buy an out-of-palette color, I try to get a top and bottom set in the same color, so at least I will have one way to wear that color.

That’s very smart, I love the idea to get a set when you’re buying something out of your color palette! It does help knowing our best colors indeed and having a wardrobe that most pieces match, makes life sooo much easier ❤️

For me, it was relatively simple. I worked at several businesses that had strict dress codes. So for many years, the only code was what was acceptable at that business: generally blazers or suit jackets, dresses, and skirts. Later on, as codes became looser, we could wear coordinating pants. The code was the same whether you were a secretary or a professional, and many of the office workers protested that they were the lowest paid, but still had to have expensive wardrobes. Later, when I became a contractor, I still had to wear high-end clothing. I was competing for my job and had to look as if I was attending meetings all day. And frequently, there were meetings called at the last minute. I still have a closet full of clothes I don't wear. I lost a lot of weight and they don't fit. I guess it's time to Goodwill them.

Wow Susan, you must have dressed so well for all these years though!! Did you ever feel limited or perhaps wanted to wear something else in other occasions? In my case, I feel I have two wardrobes- one to go out and do my own things and another to work. As a piano teacher, I dress more formally, but on a daily basis I wear more casual clothes. Having 4 seasons makes it harder too because I have my summer clothes stored and then need to swap them every 6 months 😩

Thanks so much! It’s Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick, the color is “chrome red”. Gorgeous shade isn’t it? Not too cool or warm, has a hint of pink in real life ❤️
