I get lazy to cook sometimes, so i just crack open a young coconut and eat all the coconut meat and drink the coconut water. Keeps you full for hours. Plus the best time i love eating fresh coconuts are in the summer.
Im so angry! I love coconut and was told it was bad for me because of sat fat! I have been on statins for 20 years I am a victim of big pharma Thank you for these videos Dr Axe!
After a heart attack, i was perscribed statins for almost two years. My heart attack was nothing compared to what the statins did. At least 10 side effects that still linger today, even after one year of quitting the rat poison and now I'm looking at a possible statin induced lupus.
@michael getachew coconut oil should be cold pressed virgin coconut oil.. I am sure you have got the wrong coconut oil... There are many adulterated bad coconut oils in the market.. Mine is max care virgin coconut oil cold pressed
oh no..so what did you do to recover from statin? i take statin for 6 months, and the effect is beyond me..before taking statin, i was very healthy..unfortunately i got stroke attack due to hole in the heart..after taking statin, i have myriad of issues..looks like i have systemic inflammation...a variety of medical condition like muscle loss, blur vision, tinnitus and list goes on..i wish all those pharma burn in hell
Dont be its been going on since 1920, the American housewives used virgin coconut oil for everything especially cooking, they tried everything to get them to switch to canola oil when they eventually did in 1928 American doctors were reporting an explosion in heart diseease that they had never seen before. I too have heart diease and had to be stented in 2019 I have since banned any seed derived oil in my house since, especially vegtable, sunflower, rapeseed, soy bean (canola) its all rancid before it's even put onto the shelves for sale.
Spent a lot of time in Thailand, and this video, confirms what I’ve always believed and known, from being around the people in the country. They consume a lot of coconuts, both liquid and and pulp. And the incredible fitness in old age, and health of many Thai people. Just letting you know, what I’ve learned personally, as well as my combined knowledge, over the years, of study, in this field.
I’m from Guatemala and in my country we are used to eat coconut 🌴 now that I know more about it I will add other coconut items to my daily life. Thank you for your video. 💙
i was suffering from some very serious adrenal fatigue i couldnt even walk without getting a headache i started taking tea spoons of coconut oil and i can jog 2 miles straight without getting a headache so thank u dr axe god bless.
I have loved coconut ever since i can remember. I have never been sick in my whole life(except for once i had chickenpox). People always mistake me for (20-22) years old but i am actually 30 years old man. Maybe it's my habits and the coconut that i eat almost everyday which is keeping me young and healthy. I am really fond of dry coconut.
I know for a fact it will raise the HDL cholesterol. Mine went from a healthy 50 mg/dl to 90 mg/dl while my LDL stayed around 80. I take coconut oil in a low inflammation turmeric drink and i was amazed at what it did to the blood lipids.
Dr josh Axe, thanks for removing my fear, I watched Dr oz before your video and it freaked me out cause he claimed that eating coconut oil can cause heart problems. I’m eating cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil for a year now.
Hello, I come from the land of Coconuts from India. We people here use coconut oil as our daily oil for cooking and other external applications. We have coconut as such and also the oil for cooking. As one of the 8 medically based reasons 1 seems to be true and that is reduces brain diseases and we have that very little here. The other reasons needs to be checked. I suppose this is the best place to do research based on coconut as we people have been using it for generations.
I agree 100% my allergist suggested it to me years ago for my yeast allergy and I eat it daily now. It’s my go to oil and I’ve also replaced my coffee Cramer with coconut oil.
I really love coconut oil too! I take it everyday to help combat my candida problem and I also used it is a moisturiser on my face and it helps my skin looks so much better and I also started 'oil pulling' recently to help my teeth and gums and I'm already starting to see results with my teeth becoming more white! Coconut oil is definitely one of my favourite daily foods! Thanks Josh for sharing!
Ive just enjoyed my first coffee with organic coconut milk powder. Delicious and creamy. I use organic raw coconut oil as a whole body moisturiser and use it mixed with bicarbonate of soda as toothpaste and just the oil for oil pulling. I smear it on my dog's paws to protect him from sore bleeding paws when walking in the snow. He tries to lick it off before the walk even begins!
I make an nut paste from peanuts, almonds, cashews and even walnuts and pecans and use coconut oil to make it like a spreadable, smooth butter texture and it taste great!!! It's also pretty good on popcorn....the REAL stuff, not the microwave junk! Eat healthy, get healthy and enjoy it at the same time.
From Pittsburgh. Love your videos. I m going to go off my cholesterol meds soon. My Doctor will not be happy with me. When I did a low carb diet, my lol and help was excellent, now it's off the charts. Sugar is an addiction problem for me.
This is an amazing video thank you! I was taking it it regularly in my Ketogenic diet and then my cholesterol went up and stopped. Will start taking it
I was so excited about hearing all the benefits of coconut. Then I heard a doctor says that coconut is poison because of the saturated fat so we really need to know the truth so if you can share on this I would really appreciate that.
Awesome video! I did have a question or two though. I've read that if the coconut is processed with high heat the beneficial nutrients are chemically changed and are lost. What is considered "high heat"? I put 2 heaping teaspoons of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream in my coffee. Am I wasting the coconut oil because of the heat? What about cooking with it? I'm confused is all. Thanks!
We use organic coconut oil on our kitchen and bathroom. It's the only oil we cook with and 2-3 tablespoons are blended with my coffee every morning. It's our hair conditioner and only skin moisturizer. I also eat tablespoons of Niki's coconut oil a few times during my work day and always before my workouts.
I suffer from asthma and started taking Coconut oil like you said. The wonderful thing is it helped my symptoms and now I'm able to walk and feel better every day. thanks..... PS it has only been three days, and I can't wait for a future evaluation..
Thanks, Dr. Axe, for this informative video. I began using coconut oil a little less than a month ago. I'm glad to know that you recommend the oil, flakes (meat), and milk of the coconut. My question is whether or not there is any physiological benefit to coconut water which I have also been using in my smoothies? Coconut water is a staple in markets in my neighborhood (sold in cans).
Coconut water is a fluid that could be administer straight from the coconut via IV to dehydrated people if nothing else is available! I prefer to buy the brown coconuts and drink the water via a straw through the holes, and eat the meat, so delicious.
I recently was told that I have candida overgrowth, leaky gut and not to mention I went to the ER for gallstone attack. I've been researching the candida diets, GAPS, SCD, listened your webinar today and feel like all I'm left with is a bone broth and coconut oil diet lol. I used to count my macronutrients down to the T. Never cared what I ate, only cared about how much. I'm sure it's what got me in this mess. A lot of your recipes call for high fat-content items. At what point (if any) should I worry about consuming too much fats? I'm afraid of weight gain. I've slowly cut out grains and excess sugars that I used to have everyday. I stick to a small serving of low sugar fruit pre/post workout but have been trying to makeup for the caloric deficits through nut butters and avocado. My chronic fatigue is a concern and don't want to go way under. Should calories and macronutrients be of concern? Coconut oil is high in calories despite all of its benefits.
Dr.Axe thank you for sharing it with us ,it really helped me with my fungus toes ,and I have no longer have problem ,also I make smoothies with Avocado and coconut milk and hemp seed ,is it ok ? The taste is amazing and I won't get hunger for long time ,thanks again
How often should I take it and how much should I take. I know, infantile question. Seriously I have heard 3 teaspoons per meal and 2 at bed time. I have heard 1 at each meal and 1 at bed time. Thank, Joe
Nice to hear the truth about coconut oil. Now it would be nice to hear the truth about other fats and oils. Most are very healthy if not refined and if they are cold pressed without solvents. They also must be fresh.
Thanks Dr. Axe, I like fresh coconut water straight from the coconut. The meat is delicious and I'm thinking that an amount of the oil is present in the meat. So I have the water, the oil and the meat fresh before it's separated and processed. I use coconut oil for cooking. Delicious! Informative content, I'll share. You did the research for us Dr. Axe.
My husband and I eat unrefined virgin coconut oil in everything. We put a tablespoon in our coffee, and another one or two tablespoons in our vegetables during both lunch and dinner. We're each consuming 3 to 4 tablespoons of coconut oil daily. Is this too much?
Does the fact that coconut oil has anti-fungal properties mean that it would possibly aid in clearing up fungal infections like athlete's foot or yeast infections?
I have been putting coconut oil on my body like a lotion. Skin is a highly absorbent medium and many drugs can be administered that way. I presume all of the benefits you speak of work transdermally.
Many thanks Dr Axe for your great sharing. I will try to use more coconut products. Looking forward to making coconut butter to substitute milk butter 😄
Very informative video you have. It would really help if you can incorporate visual aids in your videos eg, some images and short clips of what you're discussing. I believe these tips would keep a consistent focus on what you're discussing and help in remember what you share for your viewers. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing.... May i ask, If coconut oil is so good, does it means we can consume as much as we want? or is there a certain limit ? ... Also, Are you saying don't use other oil but replace with coconut OR we can still go ahead with other oil, etc... but go ahead to consume more coconut that will help to keep us in good health like reducing bad cholesterol in our body. May main point is coconut is a replacement or a good compliment ?
The medium chain triglycerides(MCT'S) in cocoanut oil are converted to ketones in the liver. People with alzheimers often are insulin resistant so they can't use glycogen for brain energy but they can use ketones. Cocoanut oil helps them think better.
I grow up with coconut in my home and my mom use to make the oil and do sales with it for her living and she use to comb our hair with it but I didn't knew it could drink and been so healthy for my body am going to buy the oil and feed on it cause am going through menopause so it can help me very well
