You can easily do the fan on that control panel, you just need to put a normally closed relay in the circuit so when you push the button it turns the fan off and the fan comes on with the Jeep like normal.
Have you installed a surround camera system? That would seem to be very useful, especially if it laid out the tire paths in simultaneous downward surround and forward-looking displays.

Could you elaborate ? I want to do this with my cooling fan but I figured he could have the accessory wire to a live and turn it off manually or leave it on as the cooling fan engages after a certain temp Let me know please! Very curious and want to do it one time lol

I am looking at this system and I am just a bit curious as to if the amperage ranges is enough for everything on the Jeep or can they be upgraded to allow higher amperage instead of 5 amps? I do understand that there are 30, 20, 10 and then the 5's. Looking forward to what is next!
For your fan use a normally closed relay. That way when you turn the key off the relay will close and the fan will be on the next time you turn the jeep on.

I know this video is 2 years old, but I just bought the 6 gang panel and I’m just curious if you would trust this to run your compressor and lockers in addition to lighting?
I am put a new version in the truck I am building right now. So yes, it will be running my compressor, locker, lights everything. The old one in the Jeep always worked.

The led lights that I do have don’t draw very much, and a relay is not necessary. And my onboard air is just my A/C compressor converted to an air pump and is operated on the factory a/c relay. If I was to add something larger that has more draw I would put a relay in the system.
Hey great video. Were you saying that if you decided brightness with the dimmer wire and then left it unplugged it would always return to the brightness you left it at every time you stopped and started the truck?
Did you have to modify the panel cover to get your pos/neg wires out? My cover fits tight, so I'm trying to figure out how to feed my wires out of the box.
Any hesitation on putting that fuse box so low to the tub of the Jeep? I have the same switch panel so I appreciate the video on it but in my Tj I’m having a hard time deciding where to mount everything
Did you end up just tapping the white wire to your preferred setting and then every time you turned your car on it stayed the same brightness? This is the only issue i’m having with mine right now.
Yes, but it will randomly change to full brightness after a while and I have to go back and change it to lowest. It is kinda annoying. I have the newer updated version sitting in the garage, hopefully it won’t have that issue. Just need to find time to install it.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 Jeez. The white wire is inside my cab so i’m gonna have to figure it out regarding brightness. I don’t have all of the stickers on and it’s just WAY too bright at night. I’m gonna try to tap the wire on a hot a couple times and hope the brightness stays that way.
Thx for the video. I'm wondering if you can hook the dim (white) wire to a momentary switch with a hot wire from the battery on the other end? I might try that.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 BTW it looks like on my version there is no white wire. They sent a tap a fuse and there is an ambient light sensor in the control unit that supposedly auto dims. This must be a new feature.
looking at picking one of these up, but bro, you're missing the point of these type of units. you;re meant to install the fuse/power panel in the engine bay and have the control box inside. that stops you having to run all the wires through the fire wall to control them. its all in one simple box with only one wire through the fire wall.
Is there any way to connect this to your light stalk so that when you hit your high beam on you steering wheel they come on ? Or do you have to individually turn them on everytime you want to use your lights?
so would you just wire the fan directly to this or would you use this to trigger a relay? I would be running my xj electric fan as well as a trans cooler fan
@@MuddyBeards4X4 mine is on a stand alone relay now, as is every other accessory lol tired of a million wires running across my firewall. would I just run the +/- leads right to the controller block or would I have to keep the relay harness?
The problem with that is you would have to turn it on every time you start up the Jeep. And I would definitely forget until it overheats. But you can run a normally closed relay and it will be on all the time and turn off with the switch.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I already do that, I constantly watch temps and flip my fan on and off as needed. had it like that the last 4 or 5 years, I still have the belt fan as well with a good clutch so it's really just in traffic that I'm on and off the electric fan
There are no relays in this system. There are fuses. So if you have something with a high load you would need to add it. But any led lights or light bars you shouldn’t need one.
Why in the world would you mount that inside the firewall haha.. I think the greatest advantage it has is that you can keep all those wires under the hood! Haha
Just installed one of these. I connected the red wire to power it on directly on to the battery but it stays on even when I have the engine off, I’m afraid it’ll drain the battery. How did u get it to turn off when u turn off the engine?
I don’t remember the wire colors but the large main power cable goes to the battery. And there will be a ignition power as well which turns it on and off with the key.
I thought the whole purpose of this product is to eliminate or have single wire going in the cab and cleaning the engine bay with clutter wiring, and you did exactly the opposite
