I know I am late😌but 5 schools is alot especially for a beginner and are you happy with your province/city that they chose for you.

Hi Clementine, better late than never 😋 remeber that there are applicats that are qualified teachers and have experience teaching. so I believe EPIK takes that into account. before allocating more than one school. Another thing they look at if your a beginner is your past and current work experiences and lastly not to forget the interview. Im happy with the area ive been placed in, even though its small and not a major city it works for what im trying to do with this year😁 How have you been ?

@@AnnahPokubye Hi Annah I'm good thanks for asking ❤ you have a valid point with regard to EPiK takes consideration with the interview and your experiences. I heard small cities are perfect if your priority is to save money. But other than that I hope you are doing well😘

@@clementinejessica2154 I think doesn’t matter where you get placed you can save money. I guess here in the small city the isn’t much temptation to spend since you need to go to another city where all the cool places are

Hi there, ❤️ reason why you end working at more than one school is because typical working day is 8 hours, with approximately 22 hours/week. Sometimes your school is too small and doesn’t have enough classes to cover 22 hours per week so to fill it up you go to other schools. But 5schools is rare. Majority get 1 or 2 schools

Hey Anna, you make reference that when you travelled you travelled with your sister. How did you apply that you found yourself in the same province.

Hi Edward, in the application form there is a section asking if you are applying with anyone. We both put in each other’s details and we’re fortunate to be placed in the same province 😋

Thank you for your response Anna. In your first videos you haven't mentioned whether or not you pay for your own accommodation. If so how much do you pay for your accommodation and are you subsidies by the school?

I was wondering how strict is epik about tattoos and should you only tell them about your visible ones, I’m planning to apply through korvia soon.

Hi Nicole, tattoos are not a problem. my sister has a tattoo on her back, I have one on my arm and ankle. We both declared we have tattoos and needed to submit a picture. Since mine are visible: EPIK asked how I plan to cover them as tattoos are not allowed at school. I said I’d wear long sleeve clothes. If it’s too hot cover with makeup - they were happy with my answer

Is own laptop compulsory especially during the orientation week . If you forgot it back in SA, is there an opportunity to quickly go buy one?

Hi Lorraine, your school will provide you with a laptop or desktop to use for work so it’s not compulsory to have one. For orientation they didn’t say it was compulsory to have but it helped to have it when we were creating our demo lesson plan, registering for our ARC appointment and the for online orientation we had during quarantine. I guess it would be best to double check with epik if it’s necessary. Pop epik an email or your recruiter to confirm. To answer the question on can you buy one, not during orientation you can’t leave the campus grounds. If you forgot it it’s not the end of the world, you can share with whoever you get paired with for your demo lesson or use the campus computer room

Hello! I just applied thru Korvia and we're doing the screening in two days which is right before the interview step. Do u think i still have a shot at the August intake..or am I too late 😭

Hi Jxnel, to be honest I cant answer this question with any certainty. All I know is applications are still open, as for how many postions are still avaliable, I have no idea. I'd say shoot your shot. If you get in, you'll be happy you applied. If you dont, at least you wont regret shooting your shot. What you can do is contact Korvia - they should be able to answer this question better than I can since they are working directly with EPIK. They should have an idea of how many more postions are still available
