Important to remember that Jordan had a Long Contract that only paid 2.5 Million for his first 8 years. So, it is more than normal that he should get overpaid to compensate for the many years he dominated while many players that were much less valuable were getting paid more than him, which was a total aberration.

Overpaid? He deserved it. In Wilt's own words, every team in the league should pay him for the amount of money he pulled to the league. Lol He's been criminally underpaid for a decade. Crazy thing is he didn't give a fuck. He said he will play even if he wasn't paid. He just wanted to ball. He was the only player with a "love for the game" clause. That he could play anywhere anytime. That's why there are multiple stories of MJ playing pickup games everywhere.. There's a gym that he liked because everybody there treated him like a normal guy. They weren't even athletes. Normal Joes.

The charts were misleading though, as you rarely started the y-axis at 0, making the differences seem much larger relative to the others than they actually were. For example in the Team wins since 2015, the Warriors look more than double as high as the rest, while they're closer to 33% higher than the second highest.

@noahleach7690
@noahleach7690 3 года назад
its not really misleading though, if you have a brain you're aware of where it starts, it would also look really messy to start with 0 in terms of the visuals of the video. Also finally its entertainment why would he put exact facts above entertainment, its only misleading if you're dumb, seriously the difference between the players is still accurate, straight up not what misleading means
@trafalgarlaw8373
@trafalgarlaw8373 3 года назад
@@noahleach7690 No, it's misleading. "giving the wrong idea or impression." The y-axis starts way later to make the differences seem bigger than they actually are. "It's only misleading if you're dumb" is a dumb thing to say. You could apply that to any form of deception or cheating.
@noahleach7690

Each era had their different playoff rules on how many games needed to be played. - modern NBA playoff rules require that the champion must win 16 games, so therefore must play 16 games minimum. All four rounds are best-of-7 . - in 1957, Russell's first year with the Celtics, his team only needed to win 7 games and played 10 games total in the playoffs. Based on a cursory glance through the BBall-reference playoff page, it seems like the best regular team in the conference only needed to play in the conference finals and finals; they had a first round bye. The first round was a best-of-5, and the conference finals and finals were best- of-7. - from 1957-1966, Boston had 9 first round byes out of a possible 10 playoff series. - these rules remained until 1967, when the NBA went with a 3 round format with no first round byes. 1967 had a first round best-of-5 format. 1968-1974 had a first round best-of-7 format. Russell retired after 1969. - 1975-76 had a best-of-3 wild card round before moving into the 3 rounds of playoffs. - 1978 was the first year of four round playoffs. From 1978-83, the first round was best-of-3. The final 3 rounds were best-of-7. -1984-2002 playoffs had best-of-5 for the first round series. The final 3 rounds stayed the same. - 2003 to present had the same rules as bullet number 1. From 1957 to 1966, Russell's Celtics played 111 out of a possible 145 playoff games. The number of possible playoff games played would jump up to 190 if they were required to play a best-of-5 first round series every year.

The problem I have with having these charts as visual representations is that most have shortened Y-axes. They graphically suggest players performance numbers twice as high as the next one, but when you look at the numbers they "only" performed 20-30% better. Not taking away anything from the players as they are clearly outstanding performers compared to the rest of them, but the graphics are misleading, even when accompanied by clear and concise explanations.

GOD if MJ played now he’d averaged 42 8 7 shooting 50% for his entire career, defense now is shitty, MJ averaged 30 for his career playing in the most dominant defensive era, now how many rings would MJ get? Depends because of how the bulls played they wouldn’t hold up offensively in today’s game, especially against scoring PG’s, so let’s make it fair, MJ in on the 2019-2020 bulls, he’s at SG, his PG is D-Lo, SF is PG13, PF is Dario, C is steve adams, that’s a solid big 3 in MJ D-Lo and PG13 a nice shooter in Dario and glass cleaner in Adams, and I’d give them the Clippers current bench, with that lineup the Bulls would get no more than 5 rings, no less than 3, in today’s game, MJ would rack up more points being #1 scorer in NBA history, and I’d say 7 MVP’s, today’s game you truly cannot have dynasty anymore, only teams I really see becoming a dynasty would be the Pelicans and Clippers, Lebron is already on decline, Lakers can’t even get a solid coach, Clippers has an elite coach that lead the nonstar on roster clippers take the warriors to game 6, and Pelicans have revamped their staff

I loved that part about Dwight Howard. That dude just never recovered from that back injury, or was never able to adjust his game while still delivering 13 and 13 a game. But in his prime, he was one of the top 5 players in the league. Hands down. We all lament the injuries to future hall-of-famers like Penny, Grant Hill, or Yao. And even borderline All-NBA guys like Brandon Roy or Gilbert Arenas. But the fact that his injury is not considered as one of the great tragedies in basketball is beyond me.

It's really his attitude and inability to refine his game that is why people don't like him. Those Magic teams would have been better if he realized he wasn't actually good offensively and let perimeter players take the most shots. The dude had nearly 4 turnovers a game out of the center position, was only scoring a little over 20ppg despite getting the most touches, and was a liability when fouled.
