I once saw a clip of AJ Styles teaching a wrestling school and giving advice to the students. One of the lessons he was putting much emphasis on was the importance of working together in the ring and being able to trust one another. Driving home the point of never going into business for yourself in the ring by saying "if at any point I get the feeling that you're intentionally trying to hurt me, the wrestling match is over and now it's a fight". More wrestlers should keep this in mind and maybe these incidents would happen even less.
Actually according to Saturn himself the moppy storyline was not a punishment for the mike bell incident. They had already been planning it for months before it. He was never punished on screen for this incident also if you watch the botch again it looks like Perry didn't jump high enough for the move so Mike wasn't able to execute it properly...it was both men's faults, but everyone is quick to blame Mike instead of looking over the video more closely.
@@girlbossperiod yeah i think we're in the same vein of thinking, ive heard only bad things about Michelle backstage so im not against her gettin some come-uppance, but this was way too far like dang..maybe a few stiff shots or somethin geez
@@girlbossperiod If she was trying to teach her a lesson, wouldn't it makes sense for Michelle to know why Beth did it? Because according to the video, Michelle doesn't know. I think Beth just forgot to let go; it happens sometimes.
@@girlbossperiod From what I've heard Michelle was dating The Undertaker back then and many divas thought that she was abusing her power (dating Taker you know can give you a lot of benefits) so they were bullying her which led to her retiring early from wrestling.
Well so here's the thing. I'm all for sticking up for friends, but with hinesight being what it is and our knowledge of head trauma did JBL really "deserve" a concussion for being a jerk? Like he crossed a line no doubt but a busted up face doesn't equal possible brain trauma.

The Steve-O one is tricky because his natural reaction to getting hurt is to laugh(plus I’m sure he was high on many different things), but from Umagas side, that’s the peak of disrespect to the wrestler and the business. And 2000s Steve-O seemed like somebody youd really want to beat the hell out of.
I met Steve-O. I'm actually friends with some of the Jackass crew. I lived downstairs from one of them. But I met him a few times at parties, he really is the real deal. He's obnoxious af, but then again, he was always on some type of drug. I think he's woken up a little now.
Pillman did shit backstage and Sid's first brutal powerbomb on Pillman in the 1991 Wargames match I've heard was deliberate and Sid did indeed try to hurt Pillman
What I like about the skyscrapers is that they spared avalanche by throwing him out of the ring and let him sell on the outside, Blackwell then proceeded to get mutilated in the ring 😂.
Another instance is Sexy Star and Rosemary … basically Sexy Star was ripping the arm out of Rosemary socket as she was tapping out and didn’t let go as the bell rung… another very disgusting case… if you hurt your opponents on purpose and threw the first punch you have not place in business…
Nia and Kairi too.. Nia slammed Kairi in the Ring post as Kairi screamed “ I am not set” or Charlotte Flair continued kicking Kairi even though she was already out(some might say it was accident, but Nia it was a bit too much in such short time, and she did nothing to improve. I’m not a hater it’s just a bitter truth and sometimes truth hurts really bad)
Missing: -JBL intentionally hurting Blue Meanie during One Night Stand 2005 then getting hit in the back of the head by a chair by Stevie Richards on Smackdown a month or so after -Undertaker hitting Ken Anderson pretty much as hard as he could at Survivor Series 2006 for not selling during the match -Lesnar hitting Strowman for real after Strowman did the same (sometime in 2018) Good list tho. Didn't know about Heartland Wrestling still being around as a WWE developmental organization back in 2001. Pretty cool to see that.
i said the same thang. how is lensar getting upset with braun selling the moves. when he did that for a living in ufc and college. and proclaims to be the toughest dude in sports. like they get mad when people call wreslting fake. then act like bitches and cry when they do fight for real. lol. and make honest mistakes.
@@rickymcgruder4868 Lesnar got upset because Braun hard kneed him in the head for real due to being clumsy and inexperienced at the time. Someone the size of Braun not being careful when applying moves can easily cripple you, so Lesnar gave him a receit, a good two punch combo to get him to slow down, which worked like a charm, and then the match went on normally.
@@Triplebrcrecent CVV interview he even admitted that he got overzealous and glad that Brock punch doesn't knock him out for good as they having 20 more mins on their match
I remember a tag team match featuring DX going against Kane, Undertaker, and The Rock on an episode of Smackdown. During the match, Undetaker Irish whips Road Dogg into the corner of the ring and Road Dogg lifts his leg to kick The Undertaker even though he was supposed to just move out of the way. Undertaker then hits Road Dogg with a legit big boot and shouted to him, "Stupid Mother----!".
Actually, the acolytes hated the public enemy before this match due to both rejecting wwf's deal with them in 1996 and being friends with Terry Taylor, whom Ron and Bradshaw hated.
The story I always heard was that nobody in the WWF locker room liked Public Enemy so they as a locker room asked JBL and Farooq to kick their asses and they were more than happy to do it.
Not defending Umaga, but I can understand it. It’s always hilarious yet infuriating to me when non-wrestlers get into segments with no clue of what they’re doing then get upset when they end up hurt. I think when they hear that wrestling’s “fake” they assume that means no one ever gets hurt.
Yep. If you watch the match you can see one of the Skyscrapers tell Avalance to just "stay down" before they threw him out of the ring. He did exactly that, while the Skyscrapers pummeled Blackwell!
The skyscrapers with mean mark instead of Sid vs the road warriors. I’ve never seen anyone get hit as hard as hawk was when Dan spivy let lose on him with a chair.
When I was a little kid I used to go to K-Mart with my Dad & he'always kept the receipt. Whenever something was returned to the store my Dad was equipped with the physical & verbal receipts 😂😂😂
I tend to think that if Beth did indeed do that on purpose to Michelle, it was just her latent frustration bubbling over from years of being overshadowed, overlooked, and underpushed in favor of catalog models. Also, it's worth mentioning that Steve-O has said that he was high out of his mind when that segment with Umaga occurred. He had no idea what he was doing and he doesn't remember most of it.
The one with Rakishi I heard differently. Guy holding him was supposed to tell him which direction kick was coming from or which direction to go, the guy was supposed to get hit. There was miscommunication and Rakishi got mad and beat him all the way back stage. Rakishi was Star so let the other guy go.
It kind of worked for Mick Foley! He asked the Bulldogs if they'd let him get in an elbow, and Davey Boy was cool with it. Dynamite Kid, on the other hand, was an ass and hurt Mick in retaliation.
Joaquin Wilde/DJZ said the best if you’re purposely injure talent you have no place in business… which is why it is important to protect your opponent. It goes both ways.
3:10 THOSE ARE SOME HARD CHAIR SHOTS and that last swing at the dude's head! You can see by Rikishi's body language as he dropped the chair and walked away that he was legit pissed...WOW
I feel bad cause these guys are extremely immature and could seriously hurt somebody but it is satisfying to see especially when they deserve it. I mean, the best way to sell a move is to actually do it😂
2 of the more infamous ones I can think of: On WWE's reality show Tough Enough: they did a match with the trainers against the students. Trainer Hardcore Holly started getting offended when the students were laughing it up and found Matt Cappotelli laughing more than anyone, he tagged himself him and landed several legit shots leaving Matt bloodied up. Another tough enough segment on smackdown saw Kurt Angle issue a challenge to the contestants for an amateur style match. (Angle a former Olympic gold medalist) Daniel Puder accepted using his MMA background got Angle into a Kimura lock and could have broken his neck had referee Jimmy Korderas not improvised and counted a pinfall. Puder went on to win tough enough and entered the royal rumble later that year, during which Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly worked him over vicious with stiff suplexes and chops for several minutes.
All while the Runner up from that 2004 Tough Enough became the Greatest Success Story of them all as in THE MIZ and I think he lasted longer in the 2005 Rumble then Danny Pudshisfoootinhisarser did!
i'm just surprised there aren't more real dustings because who likes to lose. i'm also, surprised more don't get seriously hurt during such stuff i'm sure those big guys could do a lot of damage if they really wanted to.
I meet the big show and asked him the question if he ever hurt someone on purpose. His response was if they pissed him off. The man had the fist which equaled to one hand so damm i wouldn't ever want to piss hom off.
Actually Michelle did say that Beth did that because Beth didn't feel that Mckool had paid her dues the way the other wrestlers did. Draw your own conclusions about whether or not she deserved it.
@@SirJoelsuf1 I hadn't heard anything about that but it doesn't surprise me. This kind of shit goes on all of the time in pro-wrestling. Probably in other sports as well.
Hell, that's basically why Regal went into business for himself during him and Goldberg's match. Which ultimately got him fired deservedly. Feeling that a wrestler is getting unearned opportunities is no excuse for taking advantage of them in the ring and trying to hurt them. You're supposed to be able to trust and depend on each other when working in the ring. That trust and dependency is thrown in the garbage when you shoot on the person you're working with.
