These commercials aired on KCOP in September of 1985
1. Trix (Commercials starting here aired 9/16/85)
2. Hi-C Candy Apple Cooler (With Alyssa Milano)
3. Fruit Roll-Ups (I believe Jenny Lewis is the redheaded girl at 1:21 and 1:27)
4. "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" Title Card
5. Promo for "Robotech" (I actually posted three volumes of commercials from episodes of "Robotech" that aired on KCOP in the summer of 1985 back in Vols. 1009-1011)
6. Alpha-Bits (Ray Parker Jr. AND Huey Lewis going to sue over that bassline)
7. Hot Wheels Crack-Ups (With the voice of Ernie Anderson)
8. Promo for "Heathcliff"
9. Honey Nut Cheerios
10. "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" Title Card (Since the Scooby-Doo movies were an hour long, they had to be split in half to air in a 30 minute block)
11. "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" End Credits
12. Options House PSA (With Mariette Hartley)
13. Pop Tarts
14. KCOP Station ID
15. Promo for "Robotech"
16. Gold Key Entertainment Logo
17. "Krofft Super Stars" Intro
18. "Land Of The Lost" Intro (Partial)
19. Rainbow Brite Lala Orange (Commercials starting here aired 9/17/85)
20. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
21. Fruit Corners Fruit Bars
22. Give A Hoot, Don't Pollute PSA (With Woodsy Owl. Judging by the condition of this print, this is probably from the 70's)
23. "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" Title Card
24. Lucky Charms
25. Golden Grahams
26. Golden Grahams (Just in case one commercial featuring this weird little mascot wasn't enough)
27. "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" Commercial Bumper (This aired after a long period of dead air, so probably KCOP's way of saying "technical difficulties")
28. "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" End Credits
29. Cocoa Puffs (Partial)

The singing of the commercials back then sound so much better compared to now! You can hear the *_LIFE_* in the voices of the people singing in the choir! Why did they stop doing this?!

Yeah. It's because ad men were paid big bucks to make catchy, memorable ads for basically everything. Pepsi, and Coke had a legit song war for the whole decade with the biggest stars of the era! TV formats changed in the late 90's and ads (and intros) got shorter.

I think that the passion and creativity that went into great advertising just started disappearing going into the 2000s, and that's just one of the symptoms. The writers, agencies, and staff just don't care anymore in my opinion.

Hi-C Candy Apple Cooler- It’s a nice jolt of nostalgia for me, seeing how the Hi-C used to come in Cans like the one at 0:50 in addition to the juice boxes. Alpha Bits- The design of the animated girl character in this commercial reminds me of the design of Eliza Thornberry, from the Nickelodeon cartoon, “The Wild Thornberrys”. Lucky Charms- I like how the whole scenario that occurs in this commercial appears to have been inspired by the Tornado moments from “The Wizard Of Oz”.

Love the technical difficulty bumper! Reminds me of watching cartoons on WNEW in New York as they'd always have some sort of issue. The story goes that those who worked at the station always called WNEW "Where Nothing Ever Works"!

Heathcliff and the Cadillac Cats/Cats & Company! Never seen that promo for that cartoon before! It was and still is a favorite of mine. Love it!

Wasn't able to watch it when it 1st came out, I was barely 3 years old, but Robotech has become one of my favorite anime to watch, alongside Voltron.

I’ve apparently watched anime since I was 2 years old- Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics, Noozles, Maya the Bee, the Adventures of Little Koala were all on Nick Jr. in the late 80s/early 90s. Robotech walked so that Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Evangelion, Gundam Wing (among many others) could run.

@hopegrimsley3427 Same. I watched Voltron as a kid and I never knew it was anime. It was just another cartoon to me.

2:43- not sure if they were intentionally channeling Paul Simon; however, their little poem sounds like some rejected lyrics from “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.”

Had mixed feelings about Hi C as a child. It tasted better than squeeze its, but one juice box didn't satisfy my thrust(I didn't really care for any type of juice box or bottle drinks so I didn't beg my mom for them as a kid). I was more into pre mixed Kool-Aid power with sugar added and sodas.

Does anyone know when Fruit Roll Ups were bought out by Betty Crocker? I always found it strange that Fruit Rollups weren't in the candy aisle at the grocery store.

Fruit Corners was just a subsidiary brand of General Mills, who also owns Betty Crocker. Eventually the fruit corners brand went away and they were released under the Betty Crocker brand instead. As far as I know, the actual product never changed.

From a 90s kid presecpitve(Born in 85), 80's cereal had better box art design compared to 90s Cereal boxes. Not as loud or flashy! Cereals in the 80s seem to be more simpler, looking at you Trix(hated the design change from puffs to fruit shapes), Lucky Charms(Hated the changes in Marshmallow shapes), and Fruit Loops (Lime flavored fruit loops felt out of place with the Orange, Lemon and Cherry).

0:31 - I understand that 50s nostalgia was rampant then, but were kids in the Hi-C market really the right market for nostalgia?

The Pop Tarts commercial on this video was also 50's themed in a way. Same way a lot of commercials NOW push 90's "nostalgia" (I hate the overuse of the word.)

The New Scooby-Doo Movies a)-the current Batman/Scooby-Doo comic is ok Robotech-looking more and more like the live-action film(or revival of any kind for that matter) will never happen..☹ Alpha-Bits-if Ghostbusters Afterlife were to have been made back then, the girl would be Phoebe Spengler Hot Wheels Crack-Ups-imagine if there were a Fall Guy tie-in with Ernie narrating the ad Heathcliff-love that bit at the end, kind of a tribute to those"barbarian" movie posters The New Scooby-Doo Movies b) Scooby in a affair..? That's not like him 😆 Pop Tarts-that guy was also in the Milk ad w/ the jingle copying Adam Ant's"Goody Two-Shoes" Give A Hoot, Don't Pollute-with Frank Welker as the voice of Woodsy Owl Golden Grahams-forget Wheaties, this cereal was actually the preferred choice for young athletes Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!-him and the Mystery Machine gang must've been chasing a ghost around the KCOP studios

I vaguely remember hearing something about a Robotech live action movie, but that feels like it was eons ago.

The Case of the Littering Louse was an early work of playwright, David Mamet, and while early in his career, shows the complexity he would display in works such as Glengarry Glen Ross and American Buffalo. A scandal erupted when the play was censored in this commercial by removing the frequent use of “f-bombs” uttered by the fish character.
