I think this is my favorite volume of '80s commercials yet. Just about every commercial in this video is dripping with '80s style, even if there's no nostalgic toy commercials for me.

CD players were like 800 bucks back in the day. I have not listen to a CD in years and love listening to my LPs instead.

My uncle had that Sony CD player set up in his "music room" when I was kid back in '84. We weren't allowed in THAT room. Very expensive hobby back then.

That Pepsi commercial is one of the best celebrity endorsement ads ever, IMO. The lady in the Thom McAn commercial looked like Pat Benetar. "Duster" is a goofy name for a car.

The first time I saw Jason Alexander with hair was in the movie The Burning. And these commercials aired about a week before my birthday.

CD Giveaway-i was the third person to enter that contest..was mad that i didnt win :( MTV VMAS-back when they were watchable(Dire Straits shouldve been paid royalty fees from MTV using Money For Nothing for when the show went to commercial breaks lol) Pepsi-supposedly the urban myth was that MJ's downward spiral started after he did the infamous second commercial(the performance version,which was when his hair caught fire) Levi's-hey it's George Costanza when he had a full head of hair!

That other Pepsi ad will be in the next volume. I don't think what you're talking about is an urban myth...he needed a lot of plastic surgery for the burns to his scalp (which led to more and more) and also supposedly became addicted to pain medicine. He honestly seemed like a pretty normal guy before that incident, relatively speaking.

I can't help but think about that MTV calendar and think about it now. "In a month of MTV you get knocked up teens, reality show jackasses, people commenting on youtube vids, skanky dating shows, more reality show jackasses, and no music!!!"

The Plymouth Turismo Duster commercial is simply EPIC! The 80s personified. I just watched Finola Hughes in the movie "Stayin Alive" that movie is awful but I love to watch terrible 80s movies.

IndisposableLetsPlays channel yea it was the best. I watch nothing but the 80s commercials. 90s I kinda like but I want my 80s. MTV was nothing but mostly music. MTV had a few game shows and then MTV news. Today just sucks.

I've been having a less than stellar first 9 months of the year but as dumb as it is, remembering that Plymouth commercial from my times seeing it again when i re-watch my own September playlist of these things got me through the past month - which got perticularly taxing midway through. It's now nearly 1am where I am in the UK, I just went straight to this video to watch that commercial. Thank you.

That Plymouth Turismo Duster ad looked like it hinted at the We Build Excitement ads Pontiac aired a few years later. Nothing car indeed. Probably the only car Chrysler Corporation had out at the time worthy of any commercial near that elaborate might have been their Chrysler Laser and Dodge Daytona (which had turbo models available).

Anyone who was in their teens or 20's in the late 80's now realizes that spending thousands of dollars or CD's and stereo equipment was a very poor investment.
