I caught myself laughing at those happy baby boomers getting nostalgic over the TV themes of their youth in that Television's Greatest Hits commercial when I realized I'm them now, reliving the themes to TV shows I watched as a kid in the '80s on RU-vid. And so the cycle goes round again.

Instant nostalgia rush as soon as the video starts with those music videos. Love this.

4:50 - Theses people seem oddly peaceful considering there's a strange man in their bathroom...

Short but pretty cool, full of good stuff. An album full of TV themes was a pretty cool idea to me back in the day!

Wow, I forgot about the 6 to 8 weeks for your first issue of a magazine

Right?? I understand the two weeks of mail time (max) but what the hell took them 4-6 weeks to transfer the mailing list to the shipping department?

1st MTV promo: -Did'nt know Stevie made a video for"Talk To Me" -Never got the concept of the "Sara" video, did the girlfriend played by Rebecca DeMornay and the mother character both have the name"Sara? -Silent Running(Can You Hear Me)-whenever i hear this i keep thinking that it will be used in the inevitable Hollywood remake of the classic 70s scifi movie with Bruce Dern.. -Wonder whatever became of The Hooters The Basement Tapes-guess this could be considered as the precursor to The Voice

The Tee Vee Toons album was a consolation prize on Remote COntrol. The Triplets won an MTV basement tapes contest in 1986 and in 1991 had a top 20 hit with You DOn't Have to Go Home Tonight, so one artist from that show did have a hit single later.

2:01- “Take on Me” by A-Ha has a special place in my heart. Such a good song.

I'd like to see a furniture commercial today proclaim "$20.17 down!" on a product.

That first segment brings back the memories of such songs from way back when. I somehow never knew the names of a few of these songs (or the bands who played them). 2:00 Another thing I somehow never knew (besides "Take On Me") is that the A-Ha members were from Norway! I'm not an MTV fan, but I could see that working for the network back in those early days would've been interesting.

02:24 - as an adult, I've really come to appreciate Jenilee's braless performances on 'Three's Company '.

Also, her watch is upside down.

That's what I kept thinking during the ad (other than laughing at how cheesy it was) - most people would know her from Three's Company. I guess she wasn't exactly going to say that in the ad.

"Dallas" was the #6 rated show on TV in 1986 and #2 the previous year when her character was introduced. People knew her from that too.

Oh definitely. It's just the Three's Company stuff was so high-profile due to the legal battles with Suzanne Somers and ABC, and she was her replacement, then she was written out quickly, etc.

Upside down for her maybe, but right-side up for showing on TV so we can see the time.
